He fell from his ivory tower and landed in the gutter. But Sebastian would rather be homeless and hungry than clueless. On his way to the food pantry, a guy on his cell phone runs into him and triggers his prickly side. As a sign of goodwill, Louis offers to cook for him. But all Sebastian sees is the privilege he used to have. This isn’t a fairytale. Louis isn’t Prince Charming. And Sebastian … isn’t a fairytale. Louis isn’t Prince Charming. And Sebastian can make it on his own.
But it’s been days since he’s had a hot meal. And a blizzard is coming.
Will Sebastian’s pride be his appetizer?

5 Heartwarming Stars!!!
OMG, this book packed more of a punch than I expected and became one of my top reads of the year in one fell swoop.
First, I couldn’t put it down. I started it last Saturday at around 9pm and before I knew it, it was nearly 5am and I was crying while finishing it, so be warned that you might need some (or if you’re anything like me, more than a few) tissues while reading this book.
Then, I wasn’t sure I would be able to connect with Bash (Seb, Sebastian), because he was quite prickly, not that he didn’t have reasons to be. I fell for him more than I expected when he started opening up more to Louis and when I read his interactions with Javon, his homeless friend and pretty much the reason Bash had survived living in the streets for so long. And especially when we met his poor excuse for a father.
Louis was adorable and I loved that even if he wanted to help Bash out, he allowed Bash to set the boundaries for that help and actually pulled back to give Bash the space he needed while still making sure to let Bash know he was there for him.
The age gap was a non-issue, only mentioned in passing and really not a factor in their relationship. Both Louis and Bash had gone through so much and they were just perfect for each other, their age notwithstanding. I just adored them together. They were sweet and hot and had amazing chemistry.
I loved Javon and Blanche, they were amazing and so instrumental in the story. On the other hand, I really didn’t like Bash’s father.
All in all, this was a fantastic hurt/comfort story, emotional, sweet, angsty, hot, with awesome main and secondary characters and a very strong plot that I’m sure will remain with me for a long time. A perfect read for the season that I thoroughly recommend!

Sebastian Lewis is a 23 years old homeless young man who live under a bridge in Washington DC.
Louis Drake is a 38 years old man working at the capitol, he’s a politic influencer.
Those men don’t evolve in the same universe, but life will bring them in the same path. What will happen is up to them, they just must be ready for it.
Ladies and Gentlemen, we have a winner. Sock for an Otter by Posy Roberts is hitting my top 5 books in 2019.
I adored this book, I adored the characters, the story, the plot and the writing.
Sebastian used to live in a penthouse in the upper east side. He’s one of these kids, the heir of his parent’s empire, He’s used to never deal with anything, just live, spent money and doing whatever he wants…. Until his parents kick him out in the street and Sebastian discover an unknow world. Rough and dangerous, where he risks his life every day. I adored Sebastian, he’s very self-conscious of who he was, a spoil brat without any care for anyone. He grew up faster living in the street, he didn’t have a choice and despite everything, he remained strong and proud no matter what.
Louis is a widower; he lost his wife and unborn son tragically. He’s a work addict and a real Samaritan. When he’s not working, he’s helping other, people who don’t have his chance in life. Meeting Sebastian awoke something in Louis, something that Louis thought never have again.
I really adored this story; the author did a wonderful job with her characters and their harsh reality. It wasn’t too much, it wasn’t pathetic, it was written with simplicity and humility.
Sometimes we’re so caught up in our live and our daily basis that we forget that people have nothing and have a harsher life than us… this book is a reminder of that, and I gladly recommend it.
I’ve discovered a new talent author and I will happily follow her.
I loved Sebastian and Louis. They have good chemistry and are really adorable together. I like how it’s not your typical rich guy saves homeless man. Sebastian can stand on his own. Sebastian is all prickly and quick tempered. But then he grows to trust Louis. I have never read anything by the author before and I did take a while to be comfortable with the writing style. This is dual POV. I did find it a bit weird how Louis invites him to his house when he first met him or how Sebastian accepts it. Well it is a novel, so yeah. I loved Javon, Sebastian’s best friend and Blanche. Overall a really fun read. *ARC provided by the author via Xpresso Tours in exchange for an honest and unbiased review
A lovely story set around Christmas time but not predominantly Christmasy. It has a strong message of helping others and social conscience but is in no way preachy.
The characters feel real and the relationship develops organically.
I loved it.
Highly recommended.
Posy Roberts is really good at building worlds and drawing you in and not letting you go even after the book is finished. Another book by posy that once i started, i couldnt put it down
I loved reading and watching Louis and Bash’s relationship begin, and grow and develop into what it became, and to see them develop and grow as characters and people in their own right was really good to read, and really well done
Oh man I loved Socks for an Otter. Seriously one of my favourite stories for 2019. I absolutely loved Sebastian and Louis. They are such delightful characters that you can’t help but like and want to pull for them. It kept me captivated from the beginning and I was sad for it to end. I hope there’ll be more for them. It was a great Christmas story, but really, just plain great story and I’m glad I read it. I totally recommend this book.
Louis and Sebastian were quite a pair. Louis with his patient and guiding tendency to Bash’s walls and prickly nature were bound to make sparks fly when Bash let down his guard enough to let Louis in. This was a perfect holiday story with a very sweet happily ever after.
A moving story about Bash a “useless” homeless man and Louis a “do gooder”. They discover no matter what they are to the rest of the world, together they are perfect.
Clever plot detail: Riches to Rags with all the feels. Perfect Cover! Creative Title!
A must-read for readers who appreciate a beautifully written, poignantly told M/M love story. These two men will grab your heart and at times squeeze it so tight you won’t be able to breathe. I cried for the humiliation Sebastian and his homeless friends had to endure as well as for moments between these two men. The author’s note in the beginning shared some startling facts.
Sebastian Lewis is a gay 23yo prickly and newly homeless man who once-upon-a-time was quite wealthy. Well, his parents were and he took it for granted until the day his father threw him out of the house. He lives under a bridge now in deplorable conditions. His meet-cute with Louis Drake was touching. Louis is a 38yo widower whose wife and baby died tragically. (Another part where I dare you not to cry.) Louis and his Mati would volunteer at soup kitchens, donate generously and worked to improve the plight of the homeless in the DC area. The “collaboration” between Bash and Louis is sweet and beneficial to both. Their back stories will touch you and their futures together will be so well deserved.
I volunteered to review an ARC of this book and it is highly recommended if you like sweet M/M romance with mildly explicit scenes. Admittedly there are some slow places but still worth the read.
