Was I expecting a great book? Sure. Was I expecting this story to slap me upside the head from the very first page? Not really. But let me say that as soon as you read the very first words about Jack Taylor, you will be hooked! And I wanted to kidnap him, right off the pages of this story.
If anyone deserves a great guy, it is Miranda Wright. Don’t get me wrong, she is strong, successful (to everyone but herself), smart…and gorgeous but life has not been very kind to her, so far. She has a great support system – Marty and his mother are the best! – but her early years really took a toll on her self-esteem, her belief in her abilities, and herself. When she and Jack “meet” each other, the pages of this story literally sizzle. Their story is hawt, smexy, tender, sweet – a great combination of everything you want to read in a Skye Jordan story. Don’t get me wrong, there are some really tough issues the author deals with, there are some really nasty bad guys, but for me, at its core, it is a heart-grabbing story for two sorta lost souls.
Jack is a strong character, with some boy flaws (no worries!), but I love the balance of his alpha side and wonderfully loving, loyal and sweet side. And Miranda, oh boy did my heart break for her. She has had a tough beginning but she came thru it with some “issues”, yes but she is very strong and capable and the perfect match for Jack. And I’m pulling for both their families!
Amazing characters with Jack and Miranda. Skye never disappoints in bringing a new series to enjoy reading from the beginning to the end. Great chemistry as well as secrets to be revealed.
It’s always a treat when an author gives you two dynamic, interesting and genuinely likeable characters with great depth and then weaves them into a storyline that is evenly paced with just the right amount of tension, intrigue, drama and romance. In So Wright, Skye Jordan manages to tick all those boxes and then some. And, chemistry? Phew! Get out your fans all, Jack and Miranda just about set the pages on fire! For as white hot as they are together they have more strikes against them than for them. There are definitely some big obstacles to overcome.
So Wright by Skye Jordan is a heartwarming story that brings two people from very different backgrounds together. Not only do we get to see them conquer their own fears and hardships throughout the book, but we are treated to their smokin’ hot chemistry whether it’s in their conversations or when they are heating up the sheets. Jordan shows us her talent in So Wright with an interesting plot, spectacular characters, and fantastic pacing.
Jack and Miranda are as different as night and day at first glance. I wasn’t sold on the two of them at the beginning and Miranda kinda of annoyed me, but I trust Jordan, so I kept reading and was happily satisfied at the end. Jack and Marty were my favorite characters in the story.
Overall, I enjoyed reading about architecture, welding, and learning about shipping container homes (to the point I was Googling them and boy are there some great homes made from shipping containers). If you are looking for a sexy romance story with a solid plot and wonderful characters, give So Wright a read!
This is a well written book the story moves at a good pace and the characters are well developed.
If you like a steamy love story then this is the book for you. I would not recommend this book for younger readers due to the graphic nature of the love scenes.
The main characters Jack an architect who is home to help his sister care for their father and also to look into the family business that the partner has recently stolen from and run off with a large sum of money.
Miranda jack of all trades but mainly a welder by day and sometimes bar tender at night. Miranda has a dream of building homes for homeless people.
The chemistry between Jack and Miranda is great. The double story lines, Jack home to help with his Father and the family business and Miranda working on a business plan and also figuring out if she really wants to fix her relationship with her half sister. Everything works together.
Nothing wrong with being Wright!
Jack is in town to help his family get back on track with the family business. He is trying to sort out the problems that were caused by his dad’s business partner. Since his father is having health issues and his sister is busy trying to take care of her family and father, Jack realizes that he has his work cut out for him.
Miranda is a tough as nails, independent, hard working woman that doesn’t believe in love or forever. While she has fun and enjoys life, she refuses to let anyone get too close.
But sometimes when you try to keep a distance, you don’t see who is breaking through the barriers. But this causes more problems when you trying to keep yourself self. And Jack & Miranda find this out when the secrets that they keep inside finally come to light. Now they have to find a way to get through the mess that the secrets caused.
Skye Jordan is one of my go to authors that always brings characters that you want to know more about. I fell in love with Jack when he was holding his nephew in the very beginning of the story. And that part of his character shows throughout the story and it makes you cheer for him.
The journey is half the battle and these two are worth the fight! Another winner from Skye Jordan!
4.5 Stars
This is book one in The Wright Way series and it features Jack and Miranda. Jack’s father has sunk into a depression induced dementia and can no longer run his construction company. Jack’s in town to help his sister find the embezzler that has stolen millions from his father’s company. Jack met Miranda at a local bar. They both had reasons for not divulging all of their personal information to the other. It was a one night stand that turned into so much more. I love it when a man falls HARD for a woman. Little did these two know that their lives were intertwined in business as well as pleasure. Miranda is an awesome character. She’s a bada** welder/foreman on a construction crew and she has big, huge, amazing dreams.
Fabulous romance! I am in love with their love! I fell into this book and couldn’t put it down until the last page. Such a great story line and fantastic characters. The flow of this story was smooth from beginning to end. I can’t wait for book two!
This story is steamy! The sexual chemistry between these two is intense. The conflict is easy to see coming and for me a bit weak but totally understandable considering the hero and heroine’s character. I always enjoy Skye’s stories and I am so glad she’s got a new release.
Miranda Wright is a driven woman who’s determined to keep people from knowing the real her. She was the accidental daughter of an addicted woman. She raised herself and her 2 younger half-siblings into her teens and was on her own by 15. To say she has a thick skin would be mild. She works constantly and only has time for the occasional one-night stand and makes sure it stays that way. When Jack Taylor walks into her mentor Marty’s bar sparks fly and Jack talks her into coming back to his hotel with him. Jack, a New York architect is home to help his family as his Dad is suffering from rapid dementia and the family business is in financial trouble. While Jon was declining his partner in Pinnacle Construction embezzled a lot of money and Jack’s here to save the business while juggling his partnership in the architectural firm in New York. Jack’s not satisfied with just one night with Miranda and pursues her until she says yes while she keeps her life secret. Sparks fly and both find there is more going on than sex. As they spend more time together their individual lives start to come together and it’s a train wreck as she works for Pinnacle. Because Miranda and Jack were not telling each other who they were, when the truth comes out trust is broken. They have to work hard to make changes in their lives, take risks and trust each other to get to their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is Skye Jordan at her best! So Wright is the first book in her new contemporary romance series, The Wrights, and if this first book is any indication, this series is off to a wicked start. You will fall in love with Jack while your heart will break for Miranda. Interesting, intriguing plot line with Skye’s signature heat and steamy chemistry–she had me at Page 1! Dare I say this series is up there with the Renegades Series and that’s saying something because that series is my all-time favorite from this author and I still measure all other contemporary romances against those reads. Excellent start to a new series from one of my favorite authors! 5+ stars!
4 Fabulous New Series Stars!!!
I’m a long time reader and fan of Skye Jordan and I was so excited when I heard we were getting a new book and new characters to fall in love with. I will admit there was a little fear that maybe I wouldn’t feel as strongly about this new world as I have about her previous series, but I’m happy to report, I’m 100% in love with Jack and Miranda!!
There’s a chemistry that’s undeniable between our H/h and one hot and sexy night doesn’t seem to be enough for either of them which is totally going against how they normally protect themselves from hurt. Ms. Jordan does a stellar job of bringing us into both of their lives and their surrounding family, some of which will cause some trust issues to say the least.
I fell in love with Miranda and what she’s trying to do. But this isn’t an easy journey she’s traveling and this woman has had to fight for everything she’s accomplished in life and this new project for retired Vets is a battle she’s determined to win. She’s fiercely independent and goes after what she wants which I truly admire. She doesn’t take “no” for an answer that’s for sure.
For Jack, he’s come home to help his family because his father hasn’t been the same since his mother passed and there’s a problem with the family business and he’s going to do everything he can to save the business and as you can guess things aren’t going to be easy thanks to so many trust issues. When these two are on the same page, it’s all systems go in every way possible!!!
Ms. Jordan has once again created a world that I’m excited to dive into with characters that are diverse, interesting and go after what they want. There’s secondary characters that I’m hoping will get their own books in this series and I can’t wait to see what happens next!!!
Great story and characters by Skye Jordan. Super hot chemistry between Miranda and Jack; I especially loved Miranda’s strong female character, being a welder by profession, as well as an entrepreneur. I look forward to the next book in this series.
5 Stars
Jack Taylor is yum to the um and I want him for myself. Jack is a busy New York architect that has come home to Tennessee to help out his sister and get to the bottom of an embezzlement scheme going on with his dad’s construction company. Miranda Wright is a welder by day and part-time bartender at night and when she crosses paths with the hottie from New York, all bets are off. He may just make her break her one night only rule.
Even though Jack and Miranda are clearly from different walks of life, they have some major chemistry that Jordan delivers on every page you turn. I loved everything about this story, even though I knew what their conflict would be from the get-go, I still loved how Jordan handled the storyline.
Miranda has had a hard life to say the least and learned early on she could only trust herself. Her character undergoes a lot of growth throughout this story and it’s amazing to watch her listen and learn to let go and let herself love and be loved. I am in love with this new series from Skye Jordan, and I can’t wait to see what’s in store next.

So Wright is the first book in Skye Jordan’s new contemporary romance series, The Wrights, and is Miranda Wright, the oldest in her family’s story (though her two younger siblings won’t actually be “Wrights” since they have different fathers…still I assume they’ll be the focus of the other books…?). Miranda grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, was abandoned by her mother as a teen, and ended up with a juvie record. But she turned herself around–got her GED, learned how to weld, and became the head of her own team in a construction company. However, her life has “taught” her that the only person she can trust is Marty, her substitute father. Her actual family? Useless. Romance? Forget about it.
So when her one night stand looks like it might turn into more and her half sister is suddenly back on the scene, Miranda is all kinds of suspicious. Surely nothing good could come from these new ties she’s building. When life seems to prove her right, will she have the courage to rise above her fear and go for what she really wants?
(Of course she will–eventually. It’s a romance. And I realize I’m barely even talking about Jack, who I loved so much–but honestly, I loved almost everything about him, especially his fabulous nephews. And though he needed to do some growing of his own–one thing I really loved about this story is how they both contributed to the implosion of their relationship and they both owned up to it and worked to make amends–let’s face it, Miranda is “the Wright” of the story and deserves the lion’s share of the review.
A wonderful series start–I can’t wait for the next 2 books!

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
WOW! Skye Jordan has once again delivered a story with all the feels! She’s a master at creating characters that pull you in and don’t let you go.
Jordan’s characters sucked me in from the first page, and I didn’t want them to let go. I love Jordan, but she’s outdone herself with the first book of her new series. One of the things I loved the most was how real and flawed Jack and Miranda are. They both have their the baggage created from life and very different life experiences. Some would think that would make it hard for them find common ground, and those people would be wrong.
I want to know where I can get a Jack, sexy and sensitive, but an total alpha at his heart. Miranda is amazing, if a little damaged from her childhood. The key is damaged, not broken. She managed to pull herself up by her bootstraps and find something bigger than herself.
I loved these characters and this story! I’m looking forward to reading more of this series!
So Wright it the first book in a new series and what a great start it is. Love the story of Jack and Miranda. They have such chemistry and the story is captivating from start to finish. I really hope we get to see more of them in the next book.
This is a great start to this new series.
You’ve got a kickass alpha women smashing it in a male dominated workplace. She tough and incredibly capable without losing any of her femininity. She’s a great heroine and I loved her from the beginning. She knows what she wants and isn’t afraid to ask for it.
Jack is great too, he’s a good all round guy who looking to take his life to the next level. He’s ready to move forward and find his great love. His family is going through a tough time and he’s come home to help straighten it all out.
These two had an instant attraction, really strong chemistry and fun banter. I loved them together and really hoped their wasn’t too march drama.
It’s an interesting story, lots going on with some good twists and turns. The secondary characters are great and I’m really looking forward to the next book.
Loved the writing and was hooked through to the end.
This first book of this series was a great read and did not disappoint. The characters, Jack and Miranda were both well written characters that had chemistry that was off the charts. Both characters had issues that they worked through. The plot of the story moved along well and kept me interested throughout the story and looking forward to more from this series. I enjoyed this book from the start and I would recommend this book to others.
Jack returns home from New York to Nashville to help his family construction company that is in crisis mode. He just made partner and is feeling guilty he has been around to help out and also being pulled back to his own job. Jack loves his family and is doing all he can to repair the damage. His sister with 3 children has been doing it all helping with their Dad who has not been himself since their Mom passed away. Miranda is a hard working women who wants to start her own business building homes but is very unsure of how to get it off the ground without the funds she needs. She is bar tending when she catches Jacks eyes watching her and she decides she needs a night to just let it go. Jack is the date and relationship kinda guy and is thrown for a loop when she says she wants one night. But he can’t resist her. There is strong chemistry between them. Miranda character is so complex. I love the family dysfunction in this story. It felt true to real life. She had put many walls around her and didn’t know how of if she wanted to trust people. I really enjoyed this book and all the family dynamics.
Yep…another fantastic Skye Jordan book!
This book starts off interesting. It engages my interest and doesn’t let go until the last page. I can’t say that about all books I read. With relatively few words, Skye introduces believable characters (even the minor characters are interesting) with real-life problems that had me invested and caring about what happened to them right from page 1.
From there, the story flows at a steady pace, never forced and never wordy, which, again, I can’t say about all books I read.
Oh, and did I mention how HOT this book is?! Yeah…Jack is a “walk softly but carry a big stick” kind of guy (no pun intended), and his reserved alpha-ness certainly had my attention!
All in all, this is a great contemporary romance, a great way to spend my free time and I CAN’T WAIT for more Skye books! I will read ANYTHING she writes!!
(I was given this book in consideration of my honest thoughts)
Sexy takes a walk on the sensitive side and delivers heartstopping drama. So Wright is the beginning of series that will break a heart, even as it tempts your senses. First up is Miranda Wright, a firecracker with a chip on her shoulder and a whole lot of heart. Bruised by life, battered by love, she’s determined to make a place for herself. She had no way of knowing that fate had other plans in store that would rock her world to it’s very core. So Wright is a battle of bruised egos, battered hearts and hard won romance that will turn your heart inside out before it finally lays claim to your soul.
