The Bad Behavior Series: So Twisted So Screwed So Wickedmore
Callie is burning her candle at both ends, by working at a bar until the wee hours of the morning and then going to college and doing homework during the day, she has little time for sleep, which is leaving her completely exhausted, but it’s really the only option that works for her right now. That is, until her roommate catches wind of a single dad looking for a nanny for his daughter, and nominates Callie for the job. At first Callie is a little upset that her friend intervened, but she has to admit that it is too good of a deal to pass up, she would much rather spend her time with an adorable little girl, then slinging drinks in a dive bar. Then she meets the father of said little girl, and the deal gets a little sweeter, he’s gorgeous and the sparks are there, but there is no way she’d make a move… no matter how tempting it he may be!
With his mom’s upcoming surgery, and losing her as the care provider for his daughter, Aaron is in desperate need of a nanny. He is uncomfortable with the idea of leaving his daughter with someone other than family, but the minute he opens the door to Callie he knows he’s found the perfect person or the job. He can instantly tell she is a caring sole, and within minutes in her presence she has put him at ease, well with the exception of having his blood pressure rise a little at the sight of her, she is unbelievably beautiful. But as much as he would like to make her his new bed partner, he knows her time would be far better served caring for his daughter…now he just has to find a way to resist temptation and keep his hands to himself!
This was my first time reading a book by Ms. Marino, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with it, it kept me on my toes the whole way through, I definitely foresee myself reading more from her in the very near future!! This heartfelt and sexy little tale had everything you could want in a story; an addictive and emotionally rich story line, dynamic characters with explosive chemistry, and some seriously sexy toe curling romance too!! I highly recommend this one, it’s sure to keep you flying through the pages!!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this title.
This is the first book that I’ve read by Melissa Marino and once again, I was pleasantly surprised with a new (to me) author this year! I don’t know how I keep getting lucky with all of these books but I love it!
It’s not very often that I have absolutely no notes that I’ve written for a book. Usually, I have oodles of notes and then I have to pick and choose what I’m going to gripe about. But this time, nada. And that’s because I didn’t stop reading long enough to even write anything down. It doesn’t hurt that I loved every moment I had with this book. This book is a prime example why I love these romance novels so much. They make me laugh and swoon and they are both heart-wrenching and completely romantic. This one was no exception.
I started to adore the main characters, Callie and Aaron, almost immediately. Both characters were superbly written and because of that, I was able to just fall into the story as I was falling in love with their story. The tension between these two was almost palpable and you could feel the hope and yearning just coming off of them in waves. The taboo position that they were in (nanny and daddy) didn’t feel overplayed as it does in other novels similar to this one and how refreshing was that?!? It’s nice to not be able to guess what is going to happen next in a contemporary romance novel. I mean come on, we all know what is going to happen at the end. It’s no question. But the journey to get there, the journey that Marino takes you on was one of my favorites for the year.
I could go on and on about the characters and the steady pace that this novel takes and how there’s never a dull moment within these pages but I won’t. I’ll just say this: Marino is one of my favorite authors now and this book is one of my favorites for the year. I’m excited to see what else this series has to offer and I’ll be first in line to get my hands on it. Such a great book and what a sweet trip it took me on.
