A Lady’s Rules of Etiquette When Eloping: 1. A lady should never leave a note behind explaining her intentions. 2. If by chance a note has been left behind, a lady must prepare to be hunted down and the ceremony thwarted. 3. In such a case, seeking consolation with a night of excessive drinking will be tempting, but ill advised. 4. And lastly, a lady must never, under any circumstances, wake up … under any
circumstances, wake up manacled to a deliciously handsome Highlander.
Lady Evelyn Alexander has managed to break all four rules in the space of an evening—and the tall, virile Highlander she accidentally married is only the beginning. Her fiancé has also mysteriously gone missing and the threat of scandal is hot on their heels…
Alec McAllister has no use for a wife, but when he wakes up entwined with the lovely and spirited Evelyn, he’s willing to reconsider. He’ll help her find her fiancé, but when the passions ignite between them, it’s only a matter of time before the Highlander claims what’s his…

Shallow characters. Could have expanded on the main characters to make them more believable.
Even though I was reading it for fun, the poor spelling and use of modern phrases “parking the carriage” (?) was not helpful to a historical novel. It appears the author needs a proof reader. For example, pail is not spelled “pale”, if you lose someone, it is not spelled “loose”.
On the positive side, there were humorous moments in the book.
Not much to it. Predictable
It was very interesting. Different plot all together.
This ends in a CLIFF HANGER which makes it unacceptable for me.
Also, it has several modern figures of speech. The title following the current affectation of starting a sentence with “so” turning it into an effect without a cause and the series name copying the “What Happens in….” affectation so prevalent in today’s teen and young adult speech are both irritations.. . Minus two star for each of those annoyances.
The author needs to go back to school and learn grammar. Subject and object pronouns are misused. The author’s verb forms are incorrect. There are word substitutions such as “thought” when though would have been appropriate. The author seems to rely on spell check which can’t catch a correctly spelled but inappropriate word. Nor can it find errors of fact such as a vein pulsing. Veins and arteries are not interchangeable. Minus the rest of the stars.
It is a shame this writers lacks the required knowledge of standard English. The premise was cute. (One star added only because it has to be there for the review to fly) The characters, Eve and Alec, were good ones. The execution of the story was sadly lacking skill.
Easy read, was enchanting . Made me want to book a trip to Scotland and search fro my own Highlander. Also made you realize everything is not always as it first appears.
Love it
Too short
Still thinking, hmmm, woke up chained to a naked Scotch blacksmith? By the way where are my clothes? Who’s hammering on the door?
Love tje story
An easy read with likable characters.
The story line was good and the story had some good action. The ending was abrupt and well just dumb.
Forbidden love
I didn’t like the way it ended. The ending seemed abrupt as though there should have been more. Up to that point I was interested but that killed it.
I was not thrilled by this book. I actually stopped reading it after only 1/3 of the way into it. It’s not my style. It is a romance.
The book was filled with great characters and entertaining.
This Book was so good, I stay up all night reading this book. I couldn’t put it down.
Fun book but did hold true to the century it was set for.
cute, enjoyable tale, but not probable.
I am not good at reviewing any books I read. I just enjoy whatever I am reading.
I liked the love story but it was just a tad bit predictable. Cute though.
