Lots of snow, a werebear, and all the feels. What more could you ask for? A great novella all about two isolated people able to get past each others’ guards and find love A must when looking for a winter or holiday themed read!
I always enjoy Meg Ripley’s shifter books; her characters always endure, even when faced with crippling loss or tragedy. Quinton has last his family while serving overseas, and just wants peace, a place to belong, and to find some semblance of happiness. Vanessa is all happiness and light, looking for adventure on a solitary hunting trip. When they meet the sparks fly and circumstances give them plenty of time together to see how well they mean, in personalities and attitude. I loved the care and patience Vanessa showed in slowly bringing Quinton back to life.

This is a great read from the beginning to the end. I really enjoyed the middle of the story, but you’ll have to read it to know about that. I will tell you that it’s about a polar bear shifter named Quinton, ex military who lives alone in the wilderness of Glacier Bay, Alaska. He’s grieving the deaths of his wife and child in an avalanche. Vanessa is an independent, outdoors woman who is on a moose hunt. She has some bad luck and gets attacked by the moose. Quinton hears her scream and finds her unconscious and injured, he takes her back to his cabin to care for her. What transpires next between the two of them is the sharing of secrets and opening the door to true romance. Get the book, you’ll enjoy it.

This book is from the series Werebears of Glacier Bay and can be read as a standalone.
This is Vanessa and Quinton’s book.
This was a well written love story. The death of Quentin’s wife and daughter who he was trying to heal from and a secret that could ruin any chance of a relationship between them. The characters were great and it was a pleasure to read.

I love Meg Ripley’s shifter books and this one is exceptional. It is the story of Quinton, a widowed polar bear shifter, and Vanessa, an avid hunter and outdoor survivalist. They meet while Vanessa is hunting for a trophy moose and is attacked near Quinton’s home. During the time of her recuperation they share several weeks together being snowed in. This time is poignant and pivotal in their self reflection. The author does an outstanding job of bringing to life very raw emotions of loss and hope. This is a wonderfully written book and is sure to please the romance reader.

Wow.. I adored Vanessa and Quinton’s story. It was. A quick sweet read. Quinton is quite the tortured soul with good reason but Vanessa seems to be a soothing balm to him. They have a whirlwind relationship develop but it’s oh so sweet. And the ending… you’ll just have to read to see for yourself.

Vanessa is enthused about going on a moose hunt. She wants to get a moose. She;s taken six weeks leave from work to do so. She lets her father know where she;s going and the route she;s taking. Then she;s off on her adventure. Meanwhile Quintin, a polar bear shifter, is in Nome and has decided to leave. Three years before his wife and daughter were killed in an avalanche. A sweet and well written romance with a nice storyline and plot. It is written in dual POV which gives the reader more of the feelings and thoughts of the reader and brings it all closer. Likeable main characters who are well described and develops nicely through the story.
Two characters that are not seeking company because of issues from their past. She is strong and he has had a loss that he wants to get over.
A shifter story that has drama, danger, chemistry, passion and twists. Absolutely worth the read in spite of the shortness of it.
I absolutely loved this book! Meg Ripley writes wonderful stories, no matter which genre she chooses. This happens to be a shifter story with a twist. Authors have free rein to build their shifter worlds. No rules! Sometimes humans can know, sometimes not. In most of the shifter stories Ive read, mates get bitten and turn into the same shifter animal as their mate. Not this book. That’s what makes it different. Plus the story itself is unique. Vanessa is a human who takes a 6 week vacation to Alaska to shoot a moose, her life long goal. Quinton is a polar bear shifter and Park Ranger who leaves Nome and moves to Glacier Bay to help himself heal after the loss of his wife and child. A rampaging storm and moose cause Quinton and Vanessa to meet. How will that go? Two solitary people stuck together during a blizzard…

A great read from start to finish. A polar shifter book tinged with sadness but will it have a happy ending. Quinton, ex military, lives alone in the wilderness of Nome, still grieving the loss of his wife and daughter to an avalanche accident whilst on a tour of duty, blaming himself and living with guilt that he could of done something. He decides to move to Glacier bay, away from his clan so he can be free from the memories and hopefully start to live. Vanessa is a Hunter, getting the big when her dad took her hunting at 6 years old. She wants a moose to add to her tally and organises a week long trip to do just that.
As she starts her trek she sees a moose and tracks it until she fires but wounds it. She is now injured from the attack and lies in the snow ready for her fate. Quinton finds her and tends to her. As feelings grow between them the question is can Vanessa help Quinton to heal? Will he ever be able to love again and get the HEA he wants and needs to heal? I love bear shifters with polars being my number one. A fantastic story, with some great characters.
When you go hunting for Moose and end up getting something you weren’t expecting, love it. Great story. When you think your life is over after you lose the love of your life and another woman falls in your lap, what would you do, let fate takes it course or keep your guard up and keep your heart locked?

Vanessa and Quinton’s story had me laughing at somethings especially the cub a holiday story that has two people both loners for different reasons getting snowed in at Quinton’s cabin. Vanessa is a strong willed woman and Quinton is trying to move on from his loss. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Quinton was in the service and most of the times he got pictures of his daughter Emma from his wife Jessica. He came home lost after losing them both from an avalanche. The house they shared wasn’t the same anymore only with the memories of pictures hanging on the wall. He decided to sell his house in Nome and move to Glaciers bay and contacted another shifter from their to see about being a park ranger. Next thing to happen his house sold very fast and he paid the amount exactly for the house he bought in Glaciers bay. He lived in wilderness where houses were spread out and with him living on 100 acres, neighbors was one thing he didn’t need to worry about. One night he swore he heard a women scream after shifting into a polar bear Quinton came upon Vanessa passed out. Once she came to he found that she was illegally hunting a moose all by herself, that is until she produced proof that she was aloud to. The chemistry between them was explosive a feeling to him he thought was dormant since his late wife and child died. Vanessa was breaking down his walls on his grief and trying to get him to understand it wasn’t his fault. While being in the house the weather was proving to be a horrible storm making it impossible for them to leave. Quinton contacted his fellow pack member and was able to get out then from them bringing a snowmobile for him to take Vanessa home for Christmas.
While the family was being greeted to Quinton her aunt asked her if she was ok and Vanessa was floored, so they went to the store and got pregnancy test and couldn’t believe she was pregnant. Quinton explained that the baby could be a shifter its a 50/50 chance.
Follow along with Vanessa and Quinton in a story of love and maybe a shifter baby?

Grief and loss has caused Quinton to leave his home and join another clan. Although he has joined another clan, he still prefers to keep to himself. Vanessa is a true adventurous spirit. Obviously these two are as different as can be. What will happen when Vanessa’s latest adventure results in Quinton rescuing her and being stuck in a cabin together? Will Vanessa be the catalyst needed to help Quinton heal from the grief and loss? I’m not telling but I will say that this was my favorite in the series so far.
