Snowball—an aptly named bundle of feline fluff—is thankful to be spending her first Christmas in the comfort of Weber Haus, the Victorian B&B run by Miss Tilly. Emily Diemer, who cooks for the guests, dotes on Snowball, but she’s not thrilled about another new arrival at the B&B: Miss Tilly’s nephew, Lukas. Which is odd, because Snowball’s animal instincts tell her that Lukas and Emily … and Emily should definitely be friends.
Everything Emily needs is in this quaint community—including, she hopes, the chance to open her own bakery one day. She doesn’t think much of Lukas for leaving his aging aunt to struggle while he jets around the world taking photographs. But now that he’s here, helping to spruce up the property and getting mixed up in Snowball’s antics, she begins to soften a little. Until she learns what he has planned . . .
Lukas is going to sell Weber Haus so that Miss Tilly can retire. But Snowball is certain that this B&B, and these people, are supposed to be her forever home. Somehow she has to get these stubborn humans to see things through the wisdom of a cat’s eye and a kitten’s loyal, loving heart . . .

Cat Matchmaker
I loved this light easy reading story about a matchmaking cat named Snowball. Emily helps Tilly at Weber Haus as she saves to start her own bakery. She has a white cat named Snowball who is a bit of a rascal.
Lukas is Tilly’s nephew that she raised. He is a famous photographer and has come home to spend Christmas with his aunt.
Snowball decides that Lukas and Emily should fall in love and get married. This matchmaker cat keeps causing situations to get the two together. The cat made me laugh so hard.
The story has humor, romance and keeps you reading to find out what will happen next. I love the ending and the part Snowball plays in it.
If you need some humor in your life, or just a nice leisurely read you will love this book, especially when you read the cat’s thoughts. I do recommend this book.
Thanks to Kristen McKanagh, Kensington Books and NetGalley for allowing me to read an advance copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
What a cute idea for a story! The matchmaking kitten’s antics were adorable. I also liked the angst surrounding the possible sale of the B&B. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. If you like clean, contemporary romance with an animal featured in the story, you won’t want to miss this book.
A Christmas romance as cute and adorable as the mischievous kitten herself, this one left me smiling. A sweet Christmas treat!
A cute story with a cute kitten at Christmas.
I’ll start right out with this book seems like it’s tailor-made for being made into a TV movie. It’s got an adorable kitten, an auntie that needs help, plus two people who need each other even if they don’t realize it. It’s truly cute. The writing flows well and I was drawn right into the story. I wanted to root for the characters and loved little Snowball. Lukas is dreamy and he could come to my house to do some home improvement if he’s available.
The one quibble I had with this book was Emily. I like forthright characters. I like the ones who know what they want and won’t quit until they get it. I like characters with ridiculously tremendous drive. Emily is all these things and more, but the one thing she is that drove me bonkers has to be her drive to the point of being off-putting. Some readers might just see her as strong, but it’s almost like she’s got a savior complex. If she’s not saving it, then it won’t be saved. That’s nice, but it got to be too much at times. I wanted to see her warm to Lukas and understand he had a stake in the property, too, but maybe a little faster. While this wasn’t my favorite part of the story, it might be perfectly fine for other readers and that’s great.
Lukas is a flawed character. He’s got his plate full and has a life he wants to live, but I liked that he quickly adapts to what’s thrown his way. He’s handsome and willing to help, even if he’s too busy trying not to get in Emily’s way.
The whole thing truly seems like it was written to be made into a TV movie. The writing was such that I could see the little B&B house, that I could see the characters and feel like I was there. I could almost smell the baked goods Emily made. The Christmas feel is all around in this story, too.
If you want a book that’s cute and sweet, then this might be the holiday read you’re looking for. Try it!
Fantastic book and well written. I loved this book and hated to put the book down. I liked this book so much I’m planning to get the continuation of this book The Twelve Days of Snowball by Kristen McKanagh.
I loved how the author wrote the book from the Cat’s point of view then switched to the Human’s point of view. The author pulled it together purrfectly. I laughed so hard I cried as I read this book.
I highly recommend this book and will read again. Go out and buy this book. You’ll love it.
Snowball’s Christmas has to be THE cutest Christmas story I’ve read so far in 2020 – and I read a lot of Christmas Romance year-round. And I’m very happy to discover that Snowball will be back next holiday season in 2021 with another tale to be told.
And Snowball does jump in often with her own narrative on the happenings with her stubborn humans that she intends to be her forever home-mates… just keep an eye out for a kitten’s voice every now and then as you dive into this short but fun-packed Christmas Romance.
Emily has some strong preconceived ideas about “Aunt” Tilly’s nephew, Lukas before actually meeting him face to face. Well, after all, he is running around the country taking photos leaving his aging aunt here to run and tend to her B & B alone… well, not really alone but on her own, there are plenty of people who love and adore Tilly to pick up any slack including Emily who cooks for the guests of the B & B while dreaming of opening her own bakery one day.
Lukas enjoys his career, he sees life through the lens of his camera, and most of the time it’s a pretty amazing world. But he does love and worries about his Aunt Tilly, alone at the only real home he’s ever known. She’s getting up in years now, and Lukas is convinced that it’s time to sell and move Tilly into a retirement community… without asking Tilly.
What follows is a quick romantic story that is filled with misconceptions, an adorable kitten, and two people who could be perfect for each other if they would only open their eyes and take the risk that falling in love requires.
I had such a good time with Snowball’s Christmas – and I won’t give a bit more of it away, but if you love a feel-good, funny, emotional Christmas Romance then this is one you will not want to miss.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Emily Diemer works in a Victorian B&B named Weber Haus owned by Matilda Weber also known as Aunt Tilly or Ms. Tilly who is nearly 80 years old. Emily cooks for the guests and has a dream to own her own bakery someday. She is excited about the holidays but not excited about someone who is visiting Ms. Tilly, her nephew Lukas Weber.
Emily thinks Lukas is an ignorant person who doesn’t want to take care of his aging aunt, who is his only family and is solely focused on his photography career and jetting from one place to another across the world.
Snowball is a pet kitten with white fur and blue eyes who doesn’t agree with Emily and thinks she and Lukas are perfect for each other and starts playing a matchmaker.
As soon as Lukas arrives he starts getting involved with jobs like taking care and fixing the property, helping Emily in the kitchen, and getting mixed up in Snowball’s antics. With him so involved, Emily starts to soften up a little and finds that there is more to him.
Lukas is going to sell Weber Haus so that Miss Tilly can retire but the little kitten believes that this B&B, and these people, are her forever home.
What I loved about this book:
1. The setting of this book is so cozy and perfect. There is snow, lit fires, Christmas round the corner.
2. Lovely and perfect characters. They will always do the right thing. I loved Aunt Tilly.
3. Snowball a little fluffball is so cute. It was interesting to watch a kitten play a matchmaker and all the mischief that follows along.
What could have been better:
1. Emily and Lukas had an instant attraction, they understood each other and were always there to help each other. I think their chemistry could have been stronger. I would have loved some more scenes where Lukas and Emily could spend alone time talking and knowing each other more.
This was a cute little story about a white fluffball of a kitten and the humans she hopes to keep as her own. It was a quick, easy read; a mostly happy little distraction from many of the heavier cares of the world. Definitely something that would be a delightfully cozy read on a cold winter’s day.
The main characters are all interesting, and pretty well developed for the short length of the novel. Some of the minor characters were, of course, less fleshed out, but that’s to be expected. Emily and Lukas were cute together in the few scenes where they interacted. However, their shared time seemed very insufficient to has allowed either of them to develop any real feelings for the other. Besides which, both were extremely wishy-washy about just about everything, from their thoughts on a relationship between them to plans for the inn and otherwise. And they definitely were not good at communicating their thoughts or feelings. Snowball seemed alternately to be just a mischevious little kitten, a brilliant mastermind, or a wielder of magic; I was never quite sure which. Miss Tilly was definitely my favorite character of the bunch.
The book alternated between Emily’s point of view and that of Lukas, with Snowball’s thoughts sometimes randomly thrown in. It was often hard to tell where one perspective ended and another began, especially in regards to the cat. Occasionally, the viewpoint seemed to shift mid-stream even.
Other than that, it was a cute, endearing, clean romance, with just enough Christmas flare to make it an especially fun read over the upcoming holiday season.
This is a nice Christmas story. I really liked Snowball; she was very funny and kept the plot moving. Lukas is a nice guy who is trying to make the best choices. Emily is frazzled through much of the book, but she is a very hard worker. I also liked Aunt Tilly quite a lot.
If you like enemies-to-lovers stories with a lot of bickering, then this story is for you. I wanted Emily and Lukas to clear up their false misassumptions earlier than they did. But some of the bickering is funny. They did have several fun conversations, but I wanted more.
I was glad that this is a clean book. It was an enjoyable read for the coming holiday.
A sweet quick read that charmed me from the start. The Weber Haus is a place I would love to spend time at. I enjoyed getting to see the Christmas season through Snowball, Lukas and Emily’s eyes. Snowball was the perfect mischievous matchmaker. The banter between Lukas and Emily had me smiling.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC received via NetGalley.
This book is a light, delightful Christmas romance. I am not normally a big fan of sweet romances (although I do have a couple of series I enjoy), but I am a sucker for cats. How could I not be drawn in by that adorable kitten on the cover!
The story is told in third person alternating chapters by Emily and Lukas. But popping in from time to time is a first-person perspective from Snowball who is the matchmaker in the story. In my opinion, those are the best parts of the book.
The characters are memorable – 80ish Aunt Tilly, world-renowned photographer Lukas, and cook extraordinaire Emily. Even Daniel, Lukas’ competition for Emily’s love, is likable. And the true star is, of course, mischievous little Snowball. Some of her antics had me chuckling.
From start to finish, this book is sure to keep a smile on your face.
A fun Christmas romance.
Snowball is a cute, but mischievous, kitten who knows what she wants and won’t settle for less. So, when she decides Emily Diemer and Lukas Weber belong together, she does everything she can to make it happen.
Lukas has returned to Weber Haus, the B&B where his Aunt Tilly raised him, for the first Christmas in years. As a professional photographer, he was usually traveling all year long. This year he wanted to be home with his aunt. Little did he realize meeting Emily, who makes the fabulous meals at the B&B, would change his life.
Emily has one goal and it’s to own her own bakery. She works hard at the B&B while planning her future. Lukas is a distraction she doesn’t need. But as they work together, and the romance grows between them, it leaves Emily more confused. She doesn’t want to fall for Lukas knowing he will soon be leaving. With the help of Snowball and a Christmas miracle, they just might get their happily ever after.
If Snowball has her way, she will have Lukas and Emily paired up b Christmas. All Snowball wants is a happy family with Lukas, Emily and Tilly.
This was such a cute story. I couldn’t get enough of it. I especially liked how Snowball would fend off the advances one man made on Emily so she would end up with Lukas. I hope we will be seeing more of Snowball and her silly antics in the future.
This is a well written clean sweet Christmas story that I absolutely loved! I loved how the story was told from Snowball’s (the cutest kitten ever) point of view and from Lukas and Emily’s point of view. I hope to read more of Snowball’s adventures. I highly recommend this book,. Thank you Kensington Books via NetGalley for the ARC copy of the delightful book. All opinions expressed are my own.
This is a cute, fun story. Snowball the cat must try to get some stubborn humans to sort out their problems and get together so she can keep her forever home. The B & B that Miss Tilly runs is a quant place the characters are written well and the story itself is good. I found it to be a great book to pass the time with made me smile reading it.
