Snow Jewel by Natalina Reis is the second book in the Jewel Chronicles Series and follows the lives of Milenda and Jaali’s after they have got married.
Jaali is taking his beautiful wife to his homeland, hoping that they would be joyous upon arrival but to his utter disappointment they treat his new bride appalling. Jaali is trying to rekindle his relationships with his family but will this be the beginning or cause more problems going forward.
I loved this story and to have the serious story line of prejudice running through the book broke my heart in certain places, but to read the true love that Jaali and Milenda had reminded me of soulmates drawn together and the chemistry and interaction between the two of them was wonderful. Also the back drop of the fantasy land welcomed you into the book and became a lovely backdrop to this story.
I have read other books by this author and thought this was one of her best, I can’t wait to read more in this series and other stories by this wonderful author.

Snow Jewel is the second fascinating addition to the Jewel Chronicles by Natalina Reis. There is so much happening in this brilliant fantasy- from action, adventure, drama, danger, interracial romance, prejudices, intolerances, superstitions, intrigue, suspense, Gods/Goddesses, and intriguing twists and turns.
This is the second book in the series and does follow on from the story in book one, so it would be advisable to read the first book before embarking on this journey. The foundations of the storyline, character information and world development/building all begin in Desert Jewel- so having all that information will enhance your reading experience of this story, and allow you a more immersive encounter with the characters and their interesting world.
I really enjoyed Desert Jewel, so I was pleasantly surprised when I found that the second book had been released. I wasn’t sure where Ms. Reis was going to take us with this story, but I was excited to find out and I have to say that I enjoyed it just as much as the first one.
Ms. Reis writes beautifully, and her talent is very apparent throughout the book. The characters are charming and endearing, and the world in which the book is set is vibrant, with exquisitely detailed imagery- I think the characters and wonderful world building are what really sets this story apart from others.
I was captivated by what I was reading, following along to discover how everything would play out. The concept is quite unique, interesting and has been executed beautifully. The author did a great job of infusing quite a lot of emotion, tension and romance into the story.
I can’t wait to see where the story goes in the next book- the third and final instalment of this wonderful series!
Thank you, Ms. Reis!

This is not my first book by this author, but it is the first I’ve read in this series, I’ll start with I had no problem reading this although I could tell there was a lot I wanted to know about how Milenda and Jaali got to where they were at. There is a lot that happened in the first book I’m thinking and I will go back and read that to get the history especially now that I know there will be another book to follow because to me although this did not end in a cliff hanger, there is definitely more to come in the lives of Milenda and Jaali, so I will be keeping watch for this and having their beginning Im thinking will definitely help me for when I read what is to come.
This was awesome!! I chose this book not because of the genre, because I don’t normally read these types of books, I chose it because of the author. I have truly enjoyed everything I have read by Natalina Reis and this one although different did not disappoint. I’ll be honest when I first started it I thought, there’s no way I’ll be able to read and enjoy this story, and that falls on the fact that again I don’t read this genre. Well it was about 1 chapter in where I found myself not being able to put it down, and when I had to, it stayed on my mind and I could not wait to jump back in. That is how well it was written, and the storyline was tough in some places, the subject matter was oh so real and it really makes you think about things that aren’t fantasy at all, but real life. This was all handled brilliantly by this author and it proves how right I was to take a chance on this book.
A couple of my favorite things about this story was first…Mjusi and then all the wyverns…I want a place to go where I can sit and visit them…I fell in love…. and the second of many things I fell in love with was….wimbo wa moyo…I love that and love saying it and thinking about it all through the book and how much love there was in this endearment, and then there was Freya, she fascinates me and Im definitely looking forward to more with her.
I’m not going to say anymore, I loved everything about this story and I will absolutely recommend it highly. This author is a jewel and I will absolutely keep reading everything she comes up with.
Amazingly Awesome!!
Snow Jewel by Natalina Reis is the second book in her The Jewel Chronicle series. This series ideally needs to be read in order as these characters and their story start in book one. This book picks up after the events of the previous.
Milenda and Jaali return to his homeland, where his people are happy to see his safe return. Hoping that they will welcome his bride into their fold he is only disappointed when their prejudices colour their view. Given that she shares the same skin colour as their most hated enemy – the Mabaya Warriors – they only view her with distrust and hatred.
With a God supposedly on their side but questions over her trustworthy and a Mjusi who keeps acting odd their path is set to be anything but easy. Can their love overcome all the obstacles? Or will their return to Isvarld be their ultimate downfall?
I had only read one book previously by this author and it is my regret that it was not the first in this series. This book was such a well written book and an interesting story I wish I had read the first in the series beforehand. The characters, although already well developed, had a deep story with a tough path ahead of them. The topics broached in this story are difficult but highly relevant ones and they are done with such ease. The story was well written, it flowed and keeps your interest from start to finish. A great example of how to write a good book.
