I have read, enjoyed and reviewed (on here) some very dark books but this one just didn’t work for me. I don’t mind dubious and non-consent but usually there is something about the antihero that draws me to them and allows me to look beyond their darkness. With the exception of ONE of the men that didn’t happen in this book.
Indeed we don’t see enough of the heroes to either get a feel for them or to know them. Other than when they bought her the clothes there was virtually no kindness shown to her. Yet suddenly we are meant to believe they have all fallen in love. I think trying to have 7 ‘heroes’ in such a short book was just too much. It didn’t allow the reader to develop a connection to the main characters and their relationship. Had the sex been less violent/ dubious consent this would at least have worked as erotica.
These boorish men with their forceful needs were also protective and almost kind in a primitive, dominant sort of way
Unfortunately I needed to be shown this in their actions, not told it via Snow’s thoughts. And TBH very few of their actions reflected this. I did feel more of a connection between them in the last 20% or so but it was too little too late.
I also struggled with the time line and how long she had been at their cottage. At times it seemed to suggest a few weeks and yet she still hadn’t had sex with a couple of the huntsmen. Which didn’t really tie in with the fact that this was why they had taken her and certainly didn’t explain why they were supposedly in love with her. I know this is a total flight-of-fancy piece of fiction, but the plot still needs to make sense.
And one scene near the end just made me want to vomit (view spoiler)
On a positive the writing is technically very good, the story is easy to read and follow and I did finish the book.

Book 1, Dark Fantasy. This is no fairytale! Deeply dark, delicious, and decadent, Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley are perfection!
Snow White. You know the story. Father dead. Evil stepmother imprisons Snow. A huntsman rescues her. She goes to live with the seven dwarves, right? Not so much. Oh, Snow’s father’s dead. Her stepmother’s now queen. And Snow’s imprisoned. As she lies awake one night, death comes to her very door. In a desperate attempt to escape, she’s captured by not one, but seven, of the burliest, most dominant men she’s ever seen. Seriously? One tiny woman versus seven huge huntsmen? But she’s gives it her best shot. All too soon, it’s clear these men have no intention of killing her. What they want isn’t her death. It’s her! Terrified? Oh, yes! She comes up with plan after plan to escape, only to be thwarted as each fails. Worse? After each attempt, one of the huntsmen punishes her. Spanked? Strapped? Caned? Oh, those are only the beginning! Her stepmother was evil, but Snow’s never experienced anything like this! She fights like a wildcat to no avail. There’s no escape. This is her new reality. While she wants to live, how can she begin to accept this? Freyr, Odin, Dagr, Tore, Jerrik, Steen, and Magni are dominant in the most extreme sense of the word. Hardened warriors, they’re used to taking exactly what they want, when they want, with no thought of consequences. But is this truly who they are? Snow seems to affect them in some strange way. They’re no pushovers. Their natures aren’t going to change. Kind and caring will never describe these men. But can these eight conceivably find any kind of common ground? Impossible! Then fate throws a wrench into an already hopeless situation. Deadly evil rears its ugly head, something even the huntsmen can’t defeat. Are there miracles? Inconceivable. Death is imminent. Is there any escape? Just maybe. There’s only one way. But it’s so extreme. The question is who’s willing to sacrifice what to defeat the ultimate evil?
Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley have created an out-of-this-world fantasy that breaks all the rules! I truly loved this book. Is it dark? Yes! Is it hot and steamy? Absolutely! But these two authors have created a masterpiece that I adored. Zoe Blake has long been a favorite author. Alta Hensley is relatively new to me, although all her books that I’ve read have been wonderful. Combine these two and you have a uniquely impressive book. Despite the darkness, lack of hope, seemingly impossible situations, there are absolutely hilarious moments when I seriously laughed out loud. Snow’s cooking? Let’s just say, I’ll pass! In the midst of the darkness and uncertainty, there are moments when the humor brings light and hope into the story. Snow is the epitome of innocence. She’s also a seductress extraordinaire. Freyr, Odin, Dagr, Tore, Jerrik, Steen, and Magni are the complete of antithesis of Snow when they first meet. Each has his own unique personality, from brooding to mercurial to teasing to strict disciplinarian. Despite their differences, they’re united in their desire for Snow. This shouldn’t work on any level. Yet it does, magnificently! Zoe Blake and Alta Hensley shine. This is definitely one of the very best dark fantasies I’ve read. Congratulations Ms. Blake and Ms. Hensley!
A final note. Be an informed reader! This is an ADULT book. It contains explicit language, dark themes, and dubious/nonconsensual sexual scenes. If you don’t enjoy this genre, this may not be the book for you. There are book synopses and reviews available on Goodreads and Amazon. Use these resources. DON’T LEAVE A NEGATIVE REVIEW WHEN YOU KNOW YOU WON’T ENJOY THE BOOK. It’s not fair to the authors. They work hard to provide a quality work product. If you know you’ll object to a book’s subject matter before you buy it, you’re doing yourself and the authors an extreme disservice.
Thanks for reading my review and happy reading!

Once upon a time, I was a princess named Snow White…now, I am the captive prize of seven huntsmen.
An ancient fairytale with not only a twist, but a rope twist, if you please. A kinky twisted story dipped in rich sauce of smut, served with a healthy helping of no holds barred sex. Ooooh-la-la!
Ever since Snow has been abducted from Her Evil Stepmother’s prison, she’s been held in captivity by the Seven Boorish Huntsmen.
Tore
Magni
Dagr
Odin
Jerrick
Steen
Freyr
They play with her body, taking turns and ravaging her completely into submission. She isn’t allowed to escape, at the mercy of her Beasts, this Beauty learns to lie back and take her punishment of pain and ultimately the pleasure.
“Never question. Never disobey. Never for one second act out like you did before.”
There’s an interesting scene involving the decor which gave me shivers actually
Involving one of the Huntsmen-Dagr. He’s the most brutish beast of them all and he hungers to explore new places…**shudders**
A nasty (eughhh) Apple dessert ( Alta seriously !!!) and a Queen on a Warpath later, the story gets a befitting end
Snowhite has certainly become a #Slut!!
Yes, I’ve certainly gotten my fairytale ending !

hot! the beginning and her time with each huntsman was really good and well written. I loved how well the men worked together and the little rules they had with one another like not undermining what one does with her or keeping the time spent together unshared with the others. the only thing I could say I disliked was the very ending about what hurt her was a trance. I felt like it could of gone a bit differently and more realistic considering the confrontation. a power or medicine or something but still! two sentences don’t affect the entirely. excited for the next one!

I have been looking forward to reading this book since I heard that Alta Hensley and Zoe Blake were writing this together. Two of my favorite authors.
Was it what I expected? Yes and no.
The story starts with a bang and pulls you right into the story. You run with Snow through the dark snow filled woods. Away from the 7 huntsman. Onces Snow is with the huntsman, the games begin. It is dirty, sexy and dark because it there is definitely dubcon/ noncon going on. And between that dark fine line of hesitant and dubcon. I am quite surprised the wooden cabin was still standing with all the heat going on between Snow and the huntsman. I enjoyed this part of the story.
And Snow kitchen antics made me laugh.
My for me the story lacked a bit of plot. I missed interaction between Snow and the Huntsman (beside the obvious) . Because Snow deals with 7 different people I would have liked to see more of a relationship between Snow and each Huntsman. It would have make the Huntsman
more fleshed out. I had trouble keeping them apart; they all blurred together. They lived together for weeks, but I didn’t get the feeling they knew each other at all.

~WRITING – PLOT – PACE~
I enjoyed this one. Although not as much as I thought I would. It was a bit…I dunno…harsher then I anticipated. Whatever you do don’t go into this one thinking you are going to get unicorn farting rainbows. Be that as it may, it was still a very good read. The writing was fabulous. The pace was perfect. The plot was engaging and kept me turning the pages. It was a fairly quick read that only took me a couple hours to finish. It’s told all from Snow’s POV. I kind of wish we would have gotten POV scenes from the huntsmen. Especially because they are just SO harsh in their treatment of Snow. It was hard to believe at times they had any real feelings for her. Last, it was all wrapped up in a sweet (if a little rushed) ending.
~HEROES~
I am not really sure what to say about these guys. Like I mentioned above I think it would have been helpful had we gotten some POV from at least a few of them. The book is fairly short and there are seven heroes so inevitably they all sort of felt a little underdeveloped to me. There was basically only one that I felt had any warmth to him. Most of them just came across majorly rapey and violent. That said, they did grow on me by the end.
~HEROINE~
SNOW. Geez…I don’t know what to say about her either. This poor girl got worked over A LOT. I think if I had been her I probably would have shanked them all in their sleep. But girl had a hidden masochistic side. So it was ALL good on her end (eventually).
~SECONDARY CHARACTERS~
None. The entire book is just Snow and her seven Hunstmen.
~HEAT LEVEL~
Erhm…It’s ONE woman and SEVEN men…’Nuff said. Most of the sex in this one was VERY rapey (dubious consent) <--- in my opinion, it was heavier on the "rape" end of the scale and was one of the reasons my rating wasn't higher. A lot of rough sex. Dirty sex <-- one scene NO just NO...*GAG* Spanking. Belting. Discipline. Oral sex. Anal sex. Choking. Strangely enough with all that sex we NEVER get a scene where all seven guys take her at once. The kinky reader in me was pretty disappointed by that.
~ANGST LEVEL~
Low. Let us be honest here this was basically just smut. Sex was the name of the game and the storyline with the Queen was pretty second thought. There is a bit of pushback from Snow but to say that was angst would be a stretch.
~IN THE END~
I enjoyed it. Did I totally love it? NO. The Hunstmen were just a bit TOO brutal with Snow most of the time. Maybe had I gotten a peek into their inner thoughts now and again it might have softened their behavior a bit. But we didn't. That said, no one is going to go into this one expecting an epic love story. It's dark smut and doesn't claim to be anything more. Therefore yours truly is going to give this one a solid thumbs up and I am very much looking forward to the next dirty fairytale from these authors.

This book will have you on fire! Seven men, seven different types of passion and one pure woman leaves you aching for more. Poor Snow knows that one day her step mom will try to kill her. That night comes in the form of seven huntsman, though they don’t want to kill her they want to use her. You slowly get to know each man and realize they seem like horrible beasts but they have a soft side and they help Snow find the wanton woman she is.
I love reverse harem books for the simple fact that you get more book boyfriends from one book. I love the relationship dynamic that Snow and her men have. After Snow realizes she can’t leave and really doesn’t want to leave you find out each man loves her in a different way. The sex. Not only is each man different personality wise but each man is different in their sexual desires. These men will leave you searching for B.O.B. while wrapping you up in their seductive lessons.
Seriously, I’m warning you. Read this at home, while tucked into bed alone. This isn’t one you should read in public, you will be squeezing your thighs at all the lessons Snow endures. The heat of this book is scorching. The writing leaves you panting for more. And Snow and her huntsmen leave you wondering where your rugged beasts are and why they haven’t kidnapped you!

I love the twist of Snow White and the seven dwarfs. This is anything but a lovely children’s tale. It is a dark romance that involves kidnapping, dub-con sex, kinky sex and strong and sexy men. What else could you ask for.

After being isolated by her stepmother for years, Snow knows that her time is finally up and that the Queen has finally sent someone to kill her. Survival pushes her to try and escape, but Snow stands no chance against the seven Huntsmen that were sent to break her. The Huntsmen have their own plan, however. They don’t intend to kill Snow, but keep her for themselves.
Snow and the Seven Huntsmen is a very dark and erotic retelling of the classic fairy tale. Completely isolated since her father’s death, Snow is an innocent and can’t even fathom her new reality at the hands of seven men who plan on controlling every aspect of her life, expecting her to be submissive in all ways as she caters to not only their household needs, but their personal ones as well.
The Huntsmen are harsh men. There is no life of leisure waiting for Snow, and they teach her their expectations in ways that definitely get their point across. As time goes on, Snow begins to crave their discipline and understands to them it represents that they do care and set and enforce their rules with her to protect her from the Queen that will call for her blood if she ever realizes that Snow still lives.
This book was light on plot and heavy on eroticism with its basis in BDSM with a heavy emphasis on discipline. It’s a naughty fairy tale and is definitely not for readers who have triggers of non-consent. I enjoyed this book for what it was, a quick, very dark and very sexy read. That being said, I do wish there had been more character development with Snow and the Huntsmen as they lacked depth. I feel like that would have added another layer of substance to the story rather than having this simply be an erotic tale. 4 stars.
