Sniper is the 13th book in the Reed Security Series and the 1st book in a 3 book arc. Jackson and Chance are the second and third book in this arc and must be read in order. It is recommended the series is also read in order.Chance “Sniper” Hendrix is all about a good time. He was married when he was serving as a Navy SEAL and it didn’t work out so well for him. When his wife left him, he decided … wife left him, he decided that he was going to enjoy life and do what he loved. He knows that marriage can be good, but he just doesn’t want to go there again. He never intended to sleep with a stripper. He never intended to get involved in her life. But now that he has, there’s no turning back. But there’s nothing fun about the situation he just got himself into and there may be no way out.
Morgan James is searching for her missing daughter, Payton. After months of a dead end investigation, she takes matters into her own hands. Working as a stripper, she’s looking for a man named ‘The Broker’. He either has the information she needs or he’s the one behind the devious plot. She’ll do anything to get her daughter back, but in this tangled web of lies and manipulations, who can she trust?
“F&ck, man. You got a Whitworth Rifle?” I stood up so fast, my chair flew backward. I stalked over to Vanessa and tore the box from her hands. I laid the box on the table and took a deep breath before I opened the lid. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Holding the Holy Grail would have been nothing compared to this.
“Give me some gloves,” I snapped. No one did anything for a minute, but when I glared around the room, Craig took off and was back just a minute later with a pair of gloves for me. I pulled them on and then ever so gently picked up the rifle.
“Vanessa, you don’t know what you have here. This magnificent weapon was designed by Joseph Whitworth in 1854. There were only thirteen thousand four hundred built between 1857 and 1865. Do you know how many of these still exist? There probably aren’t any left. This could be the very last original rifle in existence.”
I ran my hand over the gun lovingly, murmuring to myself. “49 inches in length with a 33-inch barrel. Fires two to three rounds per minute with an effective firing range up to a thousand yards, with a classic iron sights scope. F&cking beautiful.”
“Should we leave you two alone?” Jackson asked.
“You don’t know how amazing this is.”
“I do,” Cazzo cut in. “That’s why I bought it.”
“Yet, somehow you forgot to mention it to your wife,” Vanessa scolded.
“Now, sweetheart, this is a collectible. For how old it is and how rare, I got a great price.”
“Really? How much was it?”
“Just a few thousand dollars.”
“Oh,” Vanessa sighed in relief. “That really had me worried for a minute.”
“Baby, I would never go out and spend a ton of money without talking to you first.”
Vanessa smiled at him. “I know, Sam.” She walked forward, pulling out a piece of paper. “I was just really worried when I saw this bill for a Whitworth Rifle that was sold at auction for $161,000!”

I will say that while I liked this book, it is not my favorite in the series. One on of the big issues was that I did not know it was going to play out through 3 books. That definitely didn’t make me happy.
But overall, I thought the book was well written, and for the most part I liked the characters. Chance kind of pushed my likable meter in this book. There were times that I really did not like him, but then his character would do something and I would start rethinking what I thought about him.
Now there is a lot in this book. The team has definitely tangled with a player that I don’t think they are ready for, and the ending showed just how right I was in that assessment. And even though this is the 13th book in the series, it can easily be read as a standalone as the author always does a great job in giving backstory in each book.
So overall, not totally happy with the fact that the story will play out through three books, but I did like the overall story and characters in this book. So, two thumbs up and happy reading!
Chance “Sniper” Hendrix needs to work on how to treat a woman. He seems conflicted about what he wants. Morgan James feels lost but has incentive to keep going. She shows what can happen when a desperate situation calls for desperate measures. She has someone looking out for her – Storm. He may be a secondary character but I found myself wanting to see what our author has in store for him.
I was glad to see the men from Reed Security make an appearance like in previous books. It keeps the reader connected to the series and gives you plenty of comic relief. Our author knows what is needed when you start with a very serious situation and then it turns around and you’re laughing by the end. She makes it easy for you to picture everything that’s taking place.
I don’t want to give anything away so all I’m going to say is that our author is evil – you’ll understand once you read the scene in question. I will tell you that you’ll be laughing a lot at Sniper’s expense. That evilness goes up a notch when all of a sudden I’m laughing at someone else’s pain – I’m sorry but I just couldn’t help it. The ending shows how truly evil Ms. Lagomarsino is – I’m left feeling frustrated and having to wait.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I received a free copy of this book however all thoughts and opinions are 100% my own.
I seriously LVE (yes, I had to shout that!) this series and it’s precisely because of Giulia’s writing of books like this. It’s yet another perfect mix of alpha male and sassy heroine. In this episode we follow Chance and his meeting of Morgan, then the subsequent search for her daughter. Unlike all Giulia’s previous works however this one is left without an HEA as there is another two books to follow to complete the storyline (seriously? – do you not torment me enough! ). As we’ve come to spect with this series there is the laugh out loud moments (yeah, they get you a few strange looks!), edge of the seat drama (*why* would she do that?!) and the swoon worthy love story (ooooh, and off the scales sex scenes! ).
Although you *could* read it as a stand alone, it truly gives you a more immersive, fully invested, read if you follow them in order and they’re all SO brilliant – why wouldn’t you want to read them all?!
Now I just have to sit and patiently wait for the next in the series *SIGH*
Wow,this book took it to a new level of awesome. It was soooo good that I
couldn’t put it down.I can’t wait for the rest of it.
Wow, this book was intense from the get go. My feelings about the characters was all over the place.
I liked Morgan and Chance at the beginning, but by end I didn’t like Morgan.
This had some very intense moments making you gasp.
I can’t wait for more.
Take a Chance!
The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance:
Heat/Steam:
Story/Plot:
World building:
Character development:
The heroine: Morgan James (a.k.a. Shyla) – posing as a stripper at a local strip club owned by Chance’s former Navy Master Chief. Morgan is searching for her 4 year old daughter who has been missing over 6 months. Her leads got her a name “The Broker” and she is looking for him/her.
The Hero(es): Chance Hendrix (a.k.a. Sniper) – he doesn’t date strippers and is a bit disgusted at strip clubs. His former Master Chief wanted him to go in on the strip joint he was buying, but Chance had no interest. Though he is checking out the place on the request of his friend.
The Story: Chance is immediately attracted to “Shyla” when he sees her at the club despite the fact that he’s never been with a stripper before. He takes her home and ends up treating her like the kind of person he assumes she is.
This is the first book of a three book arc and deals with sex trafficking and missing children and boy is it getting dicey for the men of Reed Security and their families. It seems like they are often protecting themselves as much as they protect their clients and when they get on someone’s bad side, it is often someone very dangerous and deadly and that is more than the case in this book.
This was also another great Reed Security Romance. This was every bit as intriguing, steamy, suspenseful and funny as the others and my favorite quote in the book is the following:
“Dance fighting is becoming very popular”
Morgan is desperately looking for her daughter who was kidnapped. When the police and FBI can’t help her, she goes to work as a stripper to find a guy called The Broker to see if she can get some information from him. Chance is an ex-Navy Seal who now works for Reed Security. Once married, now he just plays and has fun with women. No drama. Yet when he sleeps with Morgan, he find himself getting involved – more involved than he expected. There is good action, drama and romance within this story. Definitely recommend as it isn’t your average romance.

Who is Jeremy Wick and why is Chance meeting him where we find him pulling up to? How do they know one another? Who are Morgan and Payton? Who is Steven? Why does he give me the creeps? Oh lord!!! Rocco and Morgan giving Sniper a hard time is sooooo funny!!! What happens that makes Sniper pass out? WHo and what is the Broker? THese guys are a hoot! When Maggie takes Morgan to meet a contact from her previous life, what does she say that talks Sinner into helping them? What happens when a gun fight breaks out and the whole deal is broken down to Morgan by Gabe and Chris is a hoot! Oh my gosh! Chance’s first world problems are so funny after things get set straight with Morgan! Wow, talk about a cliff hanger of an ending!

This is not the first book in the Reed Security series, but it is the first book in this trilogy that is a part of the series..
I’m this book We meet “Shyla” aka Morgan, a woman who is trying to find her four year old daughter. She will do anything in her power to find her daughter. I’m order to do this she begins stripping trying to find any ounce of information on where her child could be. Enter our hero Chance. Now Chance is a sniper for the seals. He works for Reed Security. He goes into the strip club to catch up with an old military buddy. After he sees Morgan dance he decides he needs a taste. What starts out as a one night stand slowly turns into something so much more. Neither of them is looking for mire, but as we all know the harder you fight it the harder you will fall.
This book is jam packed full of action and danger. There is so much action that you will find yourself flipping through pages just to see who, what, when, and where things are going to happen. It does end in a cliffhanger so I am going to hurry up and post this so I can dig into book two.
She is working as a stripper so she can find out what happened to her missing daughter. He was married once but it didn’t not work out so he loves and leaves them until the day he meets her. His life is about to be turned upside down? Will she find her daughter? Will he help her? What trouble will they get into? See what will happen

This is another wonderful story from this author. The plot is engaging and entertaining, but it is also one that had me sitting on the edge of my seat, turning the pages as fast as I could. There is also a lot of anguish in the story, especially for Shyla, the female lead who has lost her daughter. Both Chance and Shyla fight their attraction to each other despite having one night together, neither wants to have a permanent relationship. There is brilliant dialogue between the characters that helps bring the story to life. This is an amazing book and a wonderful way to spend a few hours in a comfy chair.

Holy Hotness where can I get me a “Sniper” and some wall ……………. but without the kidnapping please
Sniper is the first book that I have read by Giulia Lagomarsino and I was not sure what to expect. The description of the story looked interesting so I figured I would give it a try. Well I was not disappointed at all. I found Sniper to be engaging and a good read with a little girl who is taken, a mother who will keep looking and do anything to get her back, an ex-military hero/anti-hero who just can’t stay away but doesn’t want to be there and a lot of other fun characters.
The story centers around Morgan, aka Shayla, our h, who appears to be late 20’s and is working as a stripper. However, she really isn’t a stripper, not that there isn’t anything wrong with being one, but she was led to the strip club after hunting down leads about her kidnapped/taken daughter, Payton. Payton, who is 4 years old, was taken 6 months previous and after 3 months the police and FBI basically packed up shop and did not hunt any more but did not close the file either. There were just no more leads for them to pursue. But don’t tell that to a mother who has lost her only child. So after going from lead to lead Morgan ends up at the strip club and gets a job.
One night our H, or is that anti-H as he really keeps trying to stay away but just can’t seem to, Chance, aka Sniper, shows up at the strip club and is introduced by the owner to Morgan. Let’s just say that he can’t keep his eyes off her once she dances and will not stop at anything to get her “under him”. So he does and then a few more times they set the sheets on fire, or would that be the wall in the alley and the wall in her apartment? Chance seems to really like walls!
From here the story takes many twists and turns with lots of suspense, action, danger, tenderness, a budding romance, laughs (especially the women in the of Reed Security orbit), family (and those that are not blood but are still family) and some panty melting scenes thrown into the mix. There is a lot of interactions with the other characters that make up the Reed Security world. But these men and women really add a lot of fun and interest to the story and add to the budding relationship/not relationship between Morgan and Chance. I don’t want to give it all away as there is just to much to say without having to rewrite the entire book. At the end there is a cliffhanger to this 3 part arc of the Reed Security series. I can’t wait to read book 2 and 3, Jackson and Chance, to see how this story ends………………..will Chance and Morgan finally be together? will Morgan finally be reunited with Payton? will the men and women of Reed Security live or who will die? will The Broker be brought down and those above him also?
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
A mother’s love!
by sewsummore
There was nothing Morgan wouldn’t do to get her daughter back safe. Chase was determined never to become emotionally involved after his wife left him, instead he had one night stands that held no emotional ties the next day. After having sex with Morgan he walked out after throwing a few notes on her bed, so why did he go back for seconds. She was a distraction he did not need but when he learnt the truth about her lost child he promised to do everything he could to get her back. This story was intense, violent and heartbreaking. His security team became involved and a bloodbath was the result. Morgan was taken captive and forced to submit while chase and his team were left to pick up the pieces of their lives and mourn their comrades. This book is only part one of a three part series and I cannot wait for the next book. I can understand Morgan’s determination to find her child, a mother’s love for a child knows no boundaries. Chase was a man afraid of commitment, and yet he put his life on the line for Morgan, I admired his commitment to find her child while denying a relation ship existed between himself and Morgan.

Outstanding book
I love this book!! This book has suspense, action, angst, and romance. When your not sitting on the edge of your seat hopeing that everyone comes out alive; you’re wanting to snack the crap out of Chance to make him open his eyes and see what he is missing out on with Morgan/Shyla. i can’t imagine having my daughter kidnapped especially when she is at a daycare. Morgan is doing everything possible to find her daughter! Read about Morgan/Shyla’s story of the way she searches for her daughter Payton and everything that happens inbetween!

Great plot and characters. I volunteered to read an advance copy for an honest reiew.
This book had an interesting plot summary, but the writing, the dialogue, the character development, the descriptions/details, the action, and the actual storyline are in need of a serious rewrite.
