Sniper is the 13th book in the Reed Security Series and the 1st book in a 3 book arc. Jackson and Chance are the second and third book in this arc and must be read in order. It is recommended the series is also read in order.Chance “Sniper” Hendrix is all about a good time. He was married when he was serving as a Navy SEAL and it didn’t work out so well for him. When his wife left him, he decided … wife left him, he decided that he was going to enjoy life and do what he loved. He knows that marriage can be good, but he just doesn’t want to go there again. He never intended to sleep with a stripper. He never intended to get involved in her life. But now that he has, there’s no turning back. But there’s nothing fun about the situation he just got himself into and there may be no way out.
Morgan James is searching for her missing daughter, Payton. After months of a dead end investigation, she takes matters into her own hands. Working as a stripper, she’s looking for a man named ‘The Broker’. He either has the information she needs or he’s the one behind the devious plot. She’ll do anything to get her daughter back, but in this tangled web of lies and manipulations, who can she trust?
“F&ck, man. You got a Whitworth Rifle?” I stood up so fast, my chair flew backward. I stalked over to Vanessa and tore the box from her hands. I laid the box on the table and took a deep breath before I opened the lid. It was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. Holding the Holy Grail would have been nothing compared to this.
“Give me some gloves,” I snapped. No one did anything for a minute, but when I glared around the room, Craig took off and was back just a minute later with a pair of gloves for me. I pulled them on and then ever so gently picked up the rifle.
“Vanessa, you don’t know what you have here. This magnificent weapon was designed by Joseph Whitworth in 1854. There were only thirteen thousand four hundred built between 1857 and 1865. Do you know how many of these still exist? There probably aren’t any left. This could be the very last original rifle in existence.”
I ran my hand over the gun lovingly, murmuring to myself. “49 inches in length with a 33-inch barrel. Fires two to three rounds per minute with an effective firing range up to a thousand yards, with a classic iron sights scope. F&cking beautiful.”
“Should we leave you two alone?” Jackson asked.
“You don’t know how amazing this is.”
“I do,” Cazzo cut in. “That’s why I bought it.”
“Yet, somehow you forgot to mention it to your wife,” Vanessa scolded.
“Now, sweetheart, this is a collectible. For how old it is and how rare, I got a great price.”
“Really? How much was it?”
“Just a few thousand dollars.”
“Oh,” Vanessa sighed in relief. “That really had me worried for a minute.”
“Baby, I would never go out and spend a ton of money without talking to you first.”
Vanessa smiled at him. “I know, Sam.” She walked forward, pulling out a piece of paper. “I was just really worried when I saw this bill for a Whitworth Rifle that was sold at auction for $161,000!”

Wow … impossible to get bored
The departure is extremely intense and torrid, and the rest of the story oscillates between drama and comedy sometimes, but remains a romance with action, in a gloomy environment, on a background of human trafficking, conspiracy.
I loved this episode, but the cliffhanger is unsustainable, and this is only the first part of this trilogy.
Sniper, aka “Chance” in the security agency Reed. He has a sexual relationship with Shyla that he thinks is a stripper and that he treats like a prostitute, but in fact she does her own investigation to find her 4 year old daughter who disappeared 6 months before.
Their relationship evolves when he understands what Morgan (aka Shyla) is doing, but she’s in danger and the entire Reed Security team goes into action to help her.

I’m not sure I have words adequate enough to say how good this book is. I absolutely loved it so so much. I couldn’t stop reading. I can’t believe the ending OMG now I’m dying to get my hands on the next one.
Ms. Lagomarsino did it again! Her Reed Security books draw me in, and I find I cannot do another thing until I finish. Choose your time and place carefully! Chance is playing the field now. He doesn’t want any strings. But, when he gets involved with Morgan, lol, looks like the strings he doesn’t want, turn into a web, and he’s caught in it! If you want a fantastic romantic suspense novel, part of a series that keeps the entertainment coming, you have to join Reed Securities!
This is the thirteenth book in this amazing series, and is Sniper and Morgan’s story. When the police investigation for her missing daughter comes up with nothing, Morgan decides to take matters into her own hands, and starts work as a stripper in a club hoping to find leads. Chance / Sniper is at the same club on business, and the chemistry between these two is intense. No spoilers; this is a must read series, you will not be disappointed. This is another well written story which is raw, gritty, humorous, and intriguing as well as filled with danger, suspense, and lies. I was hooked throughout and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
I was excited to read this book based on the blurb. I love a good SEAL story, and the mother looking for a missing child tugged at my heart strings. Unfortunately, the blurb was better than the book. Sniper is part of a series, and I have not read the rest of the series, so *maybe* if I’d read the whole series I’d like it better, but I doubt it.
The plot of this book takes us on a wild journey that ultimately gives Sniper and Morgan a chance at love after failed past relationships. But with some dirty and convoluted twists and turns that make it hard to follow and left us hanging with a cliffhanger ending. Overall I was left with a sense of confusion most of the time, along with revulsion for the scenarios, and annoyance at the characters, and a general wish I hadn’t taken the time to finish.
Sniper, aka Chance is a former SEAL. We know he was married, but it didn’t work out and left him hating the very idea of commitment and relationship. He seems like a good guy, a stand up guy, but the details provided, in the format and order, combined with his actions and language make it hard to like him and understand him. Morgan is a mom whose child was kidnapped and as such, will stop at nothing to find her daughter. Her trust in the system has let her down so she’s working any angle she can to find her child. While I understand that drive and emotion, I’m not sure I can follow her actions and reasonings throughout the book. And it’s nearly impossible to keep track of all of Chance’s team members, with both their real names and nicknames being thrown around, though they and their loved ones seem important, but not summary given to help a reader out. The background info seemed lacking, or was given at weird times that made it hard to relate to the characters.
One of the first things Chance does is manage to sleep with a stripper. And treat her with a complete lack of respect. Said stripper turns out to be Morgan. The encounter ruined my view of both characters, so no matter than they seem to like each other sexually, it was tough to believe on my part. Their actions and mistrust and dialogue soured me to their growth in the relationship and any chemistry they may have had.
I had to keep forcing myself to keep reading. I thought it’d get better, but the few pages that were easy and fun to read were tempered by pages of tough to read dialogue and tormented narrative. I had trouble keeping people straight. I couldn’t find much of the plot points believable, and I’m sincerely hoping that is because I’ve never had a child kidnapped or been let down in the same ways as Morgan and Chance.
I didn’t love the book. I really dislike a cliffhanger romance novel. I have no desire to wait for the following two books to complete the storyline. I was disappointed in what I was hoping would be a feel good book where a SEAL would save the day and fall in love and despite the kidnapping and divorce, have a happily ever after.

I am in such turmoil over this story. The premise of it was a hard pill to swallow to begin with, but the turn at the end was just brutal.
Ok, let’s begin with characters. As always, the banter between the guys is just priceless. Never a dull moment when the men of Reed Security come together to discuss their woen issues. The scene in the kitchen with the fight was epic, made all the better by Florrie’s commentary reel. I love reading about these moments in this series. Even in the most serious of books in the series, these moments bring such a light feel that I just really sop them up!
Chance (AKA Sniper) was an amazing character in the H position. He really had so many areas to really pull the reader in. You get his history making him act the way he does, and yet you also scream at your kindle over his being an ass. His development as the story progressed was ideal to read about.
Morgan (AKA Shyla) was an enigma throughout. In some moments you thought you had her pegged, only to discover some other aspect to her that had you wondering. Her choices were sketch at times but when you consider her motivation, it is so obvious why she would do what she did. In the end she had no real choices. It seemed “someone” was always two steps ahead waiting to play her.
*Spoilers*
At first I hated Morgan for what she did at the end, but in reality who wouldn’t do ANYTHING to save their child from a fate worse than death. Also when it was clear that her “intel” didn’t really matter and he already knew it all without her helped me feel like it wasn’t a battle she would’ve won either way.
Now I am gonna be dying a slow death until I can find out what happens next! Gah!

*SPOILERS*
I cannot get enough of the men from Reed Security and Sniper is no exception. He never thought that he would marry again until he met someone who was just as “gun shy” as him. Morgan was not looking for a relationship she was looking for her daughter and although she was not in the market, she was buying whatever Chris was selling but at what cost? This book did not disappoint. The story line was great and the character relationships were allowed to develop naturally. I truly cannot wait for the next installment

Addicted to the series, absolutely love it.
Each book just gets better and better every time I read a book from the series. Wonderful characters that can be related to. These books you won’t want to put down, you’ll be hooked from the start, I enjoyed reading them. I’d recommend your books to anyone. Loaded up with a drink so I could cuddle up and read it. You can relate to some part of the story with the characters as you never know what you’ll come across or what will happen but it’s so worth reading until the end and getting your hands on the next book. If you haven’t read the series it’s a much read. There is also another side series that goes with it and I recommend reading them as well.

Oh my! I just love reading this series about Reed’s Security! If you haven’t red them yet do it now. I love all the characters and how they protect and care for eachother and their loved ones.
They are funny as hell and will do anything to taunt eachother and still be there for one another. Simply put: they are amazing!

This was an absolutely incredible romantic suspense story about a woman (Morgan) whose four year old daughter (Payton) had been taken. After the police gave up on any leads they were trying to follow, Morgan began searching on her own and ended up stripping at a club where a man would come who had lots of resources and contacts (The Broker) and might know where her daughter was. Chance/Sniper is the Reed Security agent who falls in love with her (without realizing it) and wants to help her. There are some great sex scenes but Morgan and Chance both have an ex who hurt them terribly in the past and no longer want commitment or love. Some romantic suspense books have several chapters describing the horrors of human trafficking and the torture and really bad treatment of women who have been trafficked. I am glad to say this author did NOT describe where or why or what has been happening to Payton during the months she was taken, but I was very relieved as I would have been extremely upset and probably stopped reading about a four year old being treated badly. I also have to say there was a lot of humor in the descriptions of the Reed Security men fighting each other over little reasons! In the midst of that, there is a lot of action and adventure trying to find out why Payton was taken and where she might be. Then, readers MUST get to the last part of the book where there was an explosive action scene like none I have read before! And I have read a ton of romantic suspense books! I’m sorry there was a cliffhanger, but I have to also say that this is one of the first times I will patiently (anxiously) wait for Part 2 and 3 to be released! I highly recommend this book, and also recommend readers find out more about all the books of Giulia Lagomarsino.
