Murder happens in Houston, but when the most recent murders take on disturbing similarities, local law enforcement officers fear a serial killer is roaming their streets.Former sheriff’s department sergeant Jade Monroe has just graduated from the FBI’s serial crimes unit in homicide and is called to Houston with her partner, J.T. Harper, to take on her first assignment—apprehending the person … person responsible for these gruesome crimes.
With victims piling up and the clock ticking, Jade and J.T. need to intensify their search because there’s no sign the killer is slowing down.
After a late-night epiphany while she’s alone, Jade suddenly comes face to face with the killer, and now Jade is missing. The clock continues to tick—but this time it’s for her.
“In this first installment of Sutter’s new series, heroine Jade Monroe has just completed FBI training and is assigned to help track down a serial killer in the Houston area. As bodies accumulate, the agents learn that each victim’s death involved a cement block, and their job is to figure out why. The smart, risk-taking heroine that readers came to admire in Sutter’s previous Jade Monroe novels is back and in rare form, and the stakes have never been higher, especially when Jade makes a rash decision that threatens to end her FBI career when it’s barely begun. The action never slows down in this book, a wild romp of a thriller that Sutter fans will find deeply satisfying.” Angela M., Editor, Red Adept Editing

Loved the way everythings body had team working.
Another one that will keep you reading–will they catch the person who is committing murders? You will know who is doing it but not why until the end.
J.T. Harper (Jade) just graduated to the FBI serial crimes unit. She is kind of known to go off on her own and when she ultimately does so this time–well now it is she who is in the clutches of the killer–and her co workers go all out to find her!
What made this killer finally snap–she is not your usual serial killer. I could almost sympathize with her-almost!! Who lives and who dies by the end of this novel–you will have to read this book to find out!!
Good story about a newly minted FBI agent on her first case. She and her partner are sent to find the connection between very gruesome murders happening in Houston before more can happen. Very intense; very good.
This was very suspenseful. Were they going to capture the serial killer before more people were killed. Enjoyed Agent Jade, newbie to FBI.
Really a 6* book
I have read one other book by this author. I read them out of order but it didn’t matter. I like police/FBI procedural thrillers. I thoroughly enjoyed it and will be looking forward to reading others in the series.
Better than her Greed book.
Good story. I loved it. FBI profilers and lots of action.
Despite the premise, I read most of the book. I couldn’t finish because the outcome was predictable and the death of each character was described in too much detail for me. The detective was an interesting character. The writing very straightforward. An ok read if you don’t mind me mind the detailed death scenes.
A person is killing people in strange ways. People who have, in the killers mind, wronged them in the past. The story moves nicely with a few twists. The twist near the end will surprise you. Jade is now an FBI agent has alot to learn.
Normally I like books like these-police procedurals and serial murderers, but these seem to be simplistically written, the characters are not fully formed, and the plot is somewhat weak. I’ll read this series only if I get desperate for something to read.
An okay read but, the main character was just too much. Her first FBI case and she takes the lead in meetings and a raid, makes a stupid mistake with an illegal search and seizure, and then lets the killer get off two shots while she has her gun pointed at her.
Snapped is one of the great ones you don’t want to put down!!
Jade Monroe takes a licking, but keeps on ticking! I wouldn’t want to have her on my tail, if I were a killer.
While investigating several brutal murders, Agent Monroe may get herself in hot water — or swamp water. But, she’ll probe every cracked foundation and plumb every dark crevice in this case, with dogged determination, until she finds the truth.
Unfortunately, what happens when she finally tracks the killer down turns a vengeance-fueled murder spree into something even messier. The resolution of Monroe’s first case as an FBI agent (will it be her last?) is far from neat and tidy, but perhaps there is some kind of balance restored to the world. Though it is a world with certain people no longer in it.
I really enjoyed this book. So, I will be wanting to read the rest of the author’s books.
Have it but have not read yet but read two other books and loved them.
Omg! Awesome thriller. A book i couldnt put down.
Great read! Couldn’t stop once I started
