Bad boy quarterback Tyler Harris plays ball for a living and breaks hearts for a hobby. With two championships in as many years, Tyler is the best quarterback in the league. Gorgeous and rich, he’s at the top of his game. Women love him. Men want to be him. Only Tyler’s not feeling the love. In fact, he’s not feeling anything at all. Licking his wounds after a scandal and a breakup with his … breakup with his longtime girlfriend, he retreats to a run-down mansion on a remote island in the Pacific Northwest. Once there, Tyler is blindsided by the sassy redhead next door. He knows that he’s met his match and possibly his soul mate. There’s one problem. She doesn’t feel the same way.
Lavender Mead has a good reason to dislike jocks, namely an absentee father who deserted the family to coach college football. By all accounts, her new neighbor is everything she deplores in a man. But Tyler’s not the shallow superstar she expected, and she’s reluctantly drawn to football’s unabashed bad boy. Once she gives in to his considerable charms, the two are so hot together, they’re combustible.
As the clock ticks down, can they commit to each other forever? Or will they both fall short of the goal at the last minute?

Quarterback Tyler Harris is a master on the field, and off the field too if you ask his former flings! The ladies love him, and of course every man in America would love to have his life. But these days this football master isn’t feeling so masterful, he’s lived the life of luxury, taken full advantage of what it offers him, but he still feels like he is missing something.
After taking home his second Superbowl trophy he should be on cloud nine, but he’s just not feeling it, so he decides it’s time to step away from the limelight for a while and get things right. Not to mention the high profile break-up he’s currently going through seems to be stirring up all kinds of other unnecessary noise. So, he heads to the Pacific Northwest for a little quiet time… but he soon learns his trip to the island is going to be anything but, when he meets his feisty and outspoken new neighbor Lavender!
Between the pages of Snap Decision you will find a heartfelt tale that will bring you joy, swoons, smiles, and maybe even a few tears too. This beautifully crafted story line drew me in from the first page, and had me addicted by the second, once I met these two I just didn’t want to let them go. It was an evenly balanced romance story, offering up a plethora of emotions that zeroed in on my heart and left it overloaded with feeling, and emitted a constant seductive tone that kept my knees wavering! If you are a sports romance lover like me, then this one will speak volumes to you, it will score points on all fronts!!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I couldn’t imagine winning a Super Bowl and feeling nothing. Ty really hurt my heart. He feels so deeply that he doesn’t know what to do with them. Lavender feels and has no problem showing them. The two of them together are explosive. I do love how this book turns from one thing and you think you have it all figured out, and then it turns to something totally different.
I love a book that keeps you guessing.
Jami Davenport scores a touchdown with SNAP DECISION. Seattle Steelhead’s quarterback Tyler Harris is willed a run-down mansion on an island in the Pacific Northwest. He keeps bumping heads with his new next-door neighbor, Lavender Mead, who is not a fan of football players. This contemporary sports romance is suitable for adult audiences.
SNAP DECISION is a clever and fun read. I enjoyed the banter between Tyler and Lavender. They are very entertaining. Tyler is a complicated character. He is a talented football player who lost his passion for the game. He’s questioning his worth. He doesn’t let people see the real him. Lavender is an enjoyable character. It is understandable why she does not like/trust football players. I like how their lives overlapped.
I enjoyed the plot. I thought the history behind Twin Cedars was interesting. I love Cougar the cat. I liked the cuss jar, it added amusing moments. All the details made the story perfect. I always enjoy Jami Davenport ‘s writing style. It flows well and is entertaining throughout. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
4.5 Stars for Snap Decision
Tyler Harris has it all a great job that he loves, women fall all over him and every man in America is envious of him because he is the best Quarterback in the league but something is missing in his life it doesn’t matter how many women he meets he can’t find the one that sets his heart racing ….well that is until meets Lavender Mead problem is she isn’t falling for his charms.
Lavender Mead has a dislike for anything close to a jock, her father was one and he deserted the family to coach football so Tyler who happens to be her new neighbor is the last man she wants anything to do with but he isn’t the shallow superstar she expected but can he convince her to give him a chance……
This book is about a couple that aren’t broken but they both need some tender loving care could they find it with each other well I guess you need to read the book to find that out. Tyler may be cocky and arrogant but he is not as hell and you can’t help falling for the man as we see him chip away at the wall Lavender has put up around herself. I loved this couple, I loved seeing Tyler teach Lavender lessons in love and life and I loved the plot. Another great addition to the Seattle Steelheads.
I really liked this book. It has a very emotional storyline and likable characters. Tyler and Lavender are great characters. They are complexly created and that makes it very easy to connect with them. It was so easy to understand Lavender. She had so much emotional baggage from her past. Tyler has his own issues that weigh heavily on him. Together these two had scorching chemistry and a beautiful connection. A very good start to this new series.
Holy moly. Snap Decision had me in a ball of mess with Tyler and Lavender. I could not help but root these characters on. Jami Davenport, and forgive me if I have already said this, is the queen of Sports Romance genre. She never makes you feel like you are reading the same story plot over and over.
Snap Decision is about finding out the realities in life. Figuring out what is no longer the truth. I could not stop reading this book and my head has been stuck in this book world for days to come. If you love a good sports romance, Snap Decision is a perfect read for you!
I love a good series. I enjoy books with characters that appear and then get their own books. This was a great bad boy QB that falls for the girl who doesn’t want him. Can’t wait to see what happens with Murphy when he gets a book!
I’m a sucker for enemies to lovers stories and this one did not disappoint! Miss Davenport has a way to keep you hooked from the beginning of her books until the very end! It was an amazing story for sure!
Snap Decision is just what we need, to heat things up, on a cold winter night. This sports romance features two headstrong main characters that get along like oil and water. With funny and witty dialogue, this story has a little family drama that tugs at the heartstrings, and made me cheer at the end.
Lavender Mead dropped out of college eight years ago, at nineteen, and moved back home to on one of Washington’s San Juan islands. She rented the house next to the historical Twin Cedars mansion, owned by Art Harris. It was part of his family’s legacy. When Art dies, Lavender is mentioned in the will, but it’s not what she expected.
“Tyler, do what you love for the right reason, or you’ll no longer love it.”
Tyler Harris is a Quarterback for the Seattle Steelheads. After suffering a personal loss that hit him harder than he’ll admit, even to himself, Ryan realizes he’s lost his love for the game. Even after winning his second Super bowl he feels nothing, none of the joy he felt after his first win. When he’s informed his uncle Art died, Ryan heads for the funeral and finds out he’s inherited Twin Cedars. But there’s a catch to it.
Lavender has a deep hatred for football jocks, and she has a good reason to dislike the arrogant one living next door to her. Every time they spend more than a few minutes together, their verbal banter is filled with insults and funny one liners.
“I’m falling in dislike with you.”
“I’m already there. It’s nice to know we’re on the same page.”
“It’s not a page, it’s a whole book.”
When they realize there’s an attraction between them, Ryan and Lavender decide to put their dislike for each other to aside and take advantage of the chemistry they have. Both make it perfectly clear it’s purely a sexual relationship, nothing more. It can’t be, there’s too much baggage between them to allow for more.
“Even if I liked your mind and stellar personality, I don’t do emotional relationships with any man. This is sex. Pure, wild, headboard-slamming sex.”
You’re going to love this one! I loved Cougar, part of Ryan’s inheritance that kept him on his toes. This story is steamy and goes the distance, so enjoy!
4.5 Stars
I gobbled this one right up. I love all the quirky characters. They had me laughing and crying through out the book. I will be honest Tyler had an early strike against from me because he doesn’t like cats. I let it slide because Tyler has many redeeming qualities especially when it comes to Lavender. Lavender is exactly the person Tyler needs in his life. He’s lost his passion for the game and feels adrift in live, but Lavender brings a spark back into his life. That was beautiful to watch. Lavender and Tyler burn up the sheets. They have a ton of chemistry,. My heart went out to Lavender because she has some life changing revelations in this one. Good thing she has Tyler in her corner.
This is another excellent steamy romance by an excellent romance author! I read Forward Passes and this story surpasses that! Lavender and all the nicknames Tyler has for her lives on an island next door to the mansion that he just inherited but only if he lives there for 90 days. Ty is in bad emotional state after several traumas take away his joy for football that has made him a star. Can he get back his joy for living? I received a gifted copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review. I honestly love this story and this series! El has watched Ty make a Snap Decision on the field but is blindsided when he does it personally!
5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review
Jami Davenport is my go to sports author. Snap Decision was a great book. I loved Tyler. He was a man that appeared to have it all, but sometimes all the fame and fortune can be too much. Now after a very bad breakup, Tyler just needs a break from it all. Lavender doesn’t like jocks or men involved in the sports field. Lavender’s dad left them for a career in college football. The last thing she wants is to get involved with the man next door. A man who could hurt her worse than her father did.
I loved the chemistry between Lavender and Tyler. I loved watching the walls that Lavender has built around her heart crumble. I loved Tyler getting to see that there is life after having your heart broke. I loved watching them pick up the pieces and learn to love again.
Jami Davenport has written a great book. I loved every second of it. Please check it out.
I gave this Book a rating of 5 ’s

>-< >–< >–< >–< >–<>–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< >–< What I liked/Didn’t Like: Tyler is the typical bad boy ball player we have all read about before. However how Jami Davenport handles the heroine and his romance is not. I loved this book and am looking for more to read by this author.
I really enjoyed this story of pro quarterback football player, Tyler, who’s not feeling the drive to be out there battling for his team after winning back to back super bowls. When his great uncle passes away, he’s left the old mansion on the island and he’s just looking to sell it, but there are stipulations on the mansion, can he handle them? Throw in his neighbor, Lavender, who knows just what buttons to push to get under his skin, it’s really funny! Can these two carry on with a sex only arrangement, after all she dislikes football players to say the least!
Read along as their story unfolds, enjoy the ride! 5 football stars for this one!!
What happens when an someone you care about dies and you are unexpectedly thrown for a loop? You make a new enemy. That’s what happens in this book. Lavender has lived next door to Artie Harris for the pas 6 years. They were close friends/family to each other. When he dies his great nephew inherits the house that she hoped to get and turn into a Veterans B&B. This turn of events really sour Lavender’s view of the guy, not to mention that he’s a football jock and she swore to stay away from that kind of guy. Tyler is currently lost in life. He’s just won his second super bowl and he should be at the top of his world. Unfortunately he just can’t find the love for life that he used to have. These two are just what each other needs, whether they know it or not. I really enjoyed this book but I have to admit that Lavender’s willingness to be so naive really outdid me. She just didn’t want to see the truths in front of her. She wanted Tyler to be the better person that she knew he could be, but she wasn’t willing to see that for herself. That is probably the main reason I gave this book 4 stars. Lavender was great, she just wasn’t the strong willed woman that she tried to show the rest of the world and it took the whole book for her to come out of the shell. I really loved Tyler. I loved how he made an effort to be the better person, especially with his trying to not say the “f” word. His rival with Zach Murphy was fun to read, though I have to admit that I’m not a fan of Murphy and his attitude. Yeah, I got why he initially treated Tyler that way, and I understood his need for a ring, but he couldn’t even change his attitude for the end of the story. Tyler’s right about that boulder. I’m glad I got to meet this wonderful couple and I’m glad they found each other. I’m also glad that Lavender FINALLY heard both sides of the story (I can’t stand when people only listen to one side and base their decision from that). This was my first Jame Davenport book and I’m looking forward to reading more by her in the future.
4.5 star Review Snap Decision (Seattle Steelheads) by Jami Davenport
When Tyler’s great uncle unexpectedly leaves him an inheritance, he has no idea how it will change his life. However since his life has been in turmoil recently, Tyler decides to stay and fight for his inheritance, after all it gives him a chance to stay out of the limelight and hopefully out of trouble.
However the chemistry between Tyler and Lavender is off the charts and although they both say that they have a healthy dislike for one another, they are soon tearing up the sheets.
Both Tyler and Lavender frustrated me at times and I wanted to bump their heads together to knock some sense into them. However their push and pull relationship certainly made for some entertaining reading and I enjoyed their banter and bickering.
I love that Ms.Davenport’s characters are not perfect, they are flawed and the situations they find themselves in are easy to relate too, her characters are strong and her stories well written.
Will Lavender Mead be able to get over her past and take a chance on bad boy quarterback Tyler Harris ? One click and find out….
**I voluntarily read an early copy of this title in exchange for an honest review**
Tyler Harris should be loving where he is in life seeing that he is a star football player coming off his second Super Bowl win, he’s got money, health and all the women he could want, yet he feels completely empty and he can’t quite figure out why. Now facing a scandal and the break-up of his long-term relationship, he heads to an island in the Pacific Northwest to escape all that’s going on in his life. What he didn’t expect to find there was a neighbor who absolutely can’t stand him, yet she intrigues him to no end.
Lavender Mead has disliked athletes for years. That hatred stems from the fact her father chose his coaching profession over his family many years ago. She’s been hurt by a man who chose sports over her once and she isn’t willing to go through that again. When Tyler ends up moving in next door, Lavender knows she’s going to have to deal with him, but all she’s willing to do is tolerate him. But will that really work when he’s beyond gorgeous and sexy as all get out?
Even though Tyler and Lavender contend they don’t like one another, their chemistry is off the charts and the sex is beyond steamy. Even though they claim that a relationship isn’t in the cards between them, will they be able to deny what is growing between them? These two people who are dealing with hurt and heartache from their pasts may be just what one another needs, but the question is will they get out of their own way and embrace that?
Kudos to Jami Davenport for penning a very robust story with great characters. There were times I wanted to strangle them both, but overall I felt this was a very true to life type of story that I could really see happening. Sometimes the people that come into your life are not who you are looking for, but they are exactly who and what you need.
Tyler Harris Ultimate Bad Boy. Two Time Winning Super Bowl Champion Quarterback but a man who feels nothing. How has he gotten so off track but when his Uncle dies and leaves him his family home what he doesn’t expect are the stipulations but mostly he doesn’t expect Lavender Mead.
Lavender is a woman living on the island where she lives a nice life working in the Veterans club making sure they are taken care of, spending time with her Mom but she doesn’t feel the fulfillment she should until the day her life changes when unexpectedly Tyler Harris stumbles into her life.
The chemistry between the two of them is off the charts they are two people who have demons but when Together they feel the can overcome it all. Watching there relationship develop you can’t help feel like you on standing on the side lines cheering them on to become the couple that they are meant to be. They will have to overcome some pretty intense obstacles but in the end all you hope is that they find what they are looking for and become the couple that deserves that HEA.
Will the pain of her past keep her from having a happy future? Will one mistake deter the football star from risking his heart on forever? Snap Decision is a fresh start for two wounded souls. Tyler follows the rules on the field, but has his own maneuvers outside the arena. When a hint of scandal tarnishes his heart, he seeks some solitude to lick his wounds. What he gets is a smart mouth, firecracker with her own baggage to sort through. Lavendar has no time for the big ego and bright lights of Tyler’s star. With her own emotions weighing her down, she can’t possibly take on anyone else’s. That is until Mr. Big Ego teaches her a few lessons in life, love and happy endings. Davenport scores high marks with her wise words and captivating characters.
I enjoyed watching the banter between Tyler and El escalate and turn into more. Both had serious issues to work through and a more significant connection than either knew. Full of emotion, growth, family, and love.
