Growing tons of killer buds in war torn Mexico wasn’t easy for Mike Good—not with Mexico’s president sending the army after him.
Neither was getting his crop to the States—not with grudgeholding DEA Director Bonnie gunning for him.
But a philanthropist must persevere—especially with two crime lord partners pressuring him to find a new route.
A grower, not a smuggler, Mike is clueless until Don … clueless until Don Lupe, Baja’s premier smuggler says, “If you can’t go over the border, why not go under?”
Building a tunnel was no easy task. Neither was recovering five tons from pirates, conning a casino out of millions, or out-dueling Mother Nature.
Needing assistance, Mike recruits a quirky cast of questionable characters—including Director Bonnie’s genius son Jake, whose research into medical marijuana just might cure her addiction to Oxys, broaden her worldview, and lead to federal legalization.
Fans of crazy scams, offbeat humor, hilarious dialogue, and laughing out loud will love Smuggler’s Blues.

Smuggler’s Blues, book #10 in the Senor Bueno Adventure series just might be the best yet! I loved Mike’s relationship with Gloria, his business-minded girlfriend, the sexy and brainy daughter of Baja California’s number one outlaw. Their banter as they scheme to outwit the DEA ,United States Customs unscrupulous casino owners cartel bosses,,and pirates while trying to make medical marijuana legal is hilarious. So is the political and social satire Mike explores in this page-turning book with memorable characters, wild adventures, and non-stop laughs.
Smuggler’s Blues – a review by Rosemary Kenny
A fantastic, fulfilling laugh-fest, Smuggler’s Blues is Mike B Good’s (aka the infamous Senor Bueno), finest and funniest adventure to date, full of the usual suspects, both friendly and often felonious.
Having the gorgeous Gloria Madera, his beautiful and brainy girlfriend on his team is a great piece of good luck too!
As usual, Mike’s pursuing his passionate mission to raise the world’s consciousness, through the legalization of cannabis. Inspired by his nephew Jake’s experiments with cannabinoids, the action centres around Mexico and involves bringing in Jake’s Mom (aka the DEA’s own Director Bonnie), who has a related issue for these two Good men to resolve.
High (and, literally, low) jinks ensure there’s no end to the surprising situations Mike, Gloria, Duke, Bighead, El Brujo and Don Alberto etc find themselves in.
Get your copy (plus a plentiful supply of tissues and incontinence aids, as usual), as you’re guaranteed a wild ride on both sides of the border and beyond, when you read Mike B.Good’s Smuggler’s Blues – it’s guaranteed to take any Covid-19 blues far from your mind and exponentially raise your consciousness up to the stratosphere, without a doubt!
In the continuing saga of Senor Bueno, AKA Mike B. Good, he is diversifying from his normal (well as normal as he gets) occupation of growing pot to solving the problem of getting it over the border from Mexico into the USA. Needless to say he runs into all sorts of problems which he solves in his own inimitable way.
This series of books are great satires, but they also work as just hilarious stories. There are several reasons for their success: the characters, which are clever caricatures; the incredible situations that our hero finds himself in; the dialogue (even if it does use a lot of US slang which can be difficult for a Brit to decipher) and also the clever use of the political situations of the time the books are about, in this case around 2008, just before the presidential elections.
Although the books are about someone who wants to raise global awareness by making marijuana legal everywhere (his idea of philanthropy) it isn’t actually necessary to be using pot to enjoy it, the writing is very clever and full of laughs.
One caveat, this is the 10th book in this series, and although it could just about be read as a stand-alone, it makes a lot more sense if the previous books have been read.
I received an advance copy of the book but have voluntarily written this honest review.
I loved this book. Some how Mike is wrangled I to becoming a smuggler! He continues to solve problems with his crazy schemes and the more he does the more the cartel wants. It’s also solidifying his reputation as Señor Bueno. I loved when he took his girlfriend, Gloria home to meet the Goods! I loved seeing His family finally getting turned on! I love these books and this one was fantastic!
Another great adventure in the Senor Bueno series of books. Our hero Mikey has shifted from farming and production to distribution and sales. His task is to devise a method to get his wares from south of the border to the U.S.A. As with the other books in the series there are numerous roadblocks to his plans. With a beautiful women at his side, some nervous partners, family members of all different kinds, unscrupulous officials, a casino score for the ages, and some revenge, this book has it all. As always the main objective is to save the world and make it better. You can’t miss with this addition to the collection!
This is another good book by Mike B. Good. This story was a great distraction during the COVID-19. I enjoy Mike B. Good’s ability to poke fun at himself and his family. The story grabs your attention from beginning to end.
I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my voluntary review.
Mikey and his amigos outsmart the man again. I always love the clever ways that Sr. Bueno manages to live up to his reputation for finding a solution to any problem. Jake and Sabrina are a nice addition so we have more than one hero (sorry Mikey!) This book is jam packed with new adventures. I loved every one of them!
