really enjoyed this story
A little too derivative of actual current pop culture phenomena, but still a fun quick read.
This is such a great “beach book” The one you want to take with you on vacation.
This presents the age old question: Which path will I take? I was wishing for a different outcome but not the best one.
As much as I’d was hoping that Georgica would end up with Perry this book was still a great read!!
I could not get into this book at all. Sorry.
I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy!
I liked Beth Merlin’s “S’more to Lose” even better than the first book in the Campfire series. Main character Gigi seemed so much more confident in herself and her abilities this time around, despite the brief crisis and case of designer’s block that sent her back to visit Camp Chinooka one more time in the middle of the book. Rather than running away from her problems, she seemed to be running towards inspiration, which showed just how far her character has come since the beginning of book #1.
As for Gigi’s romantic prospects, I have to admit that I wasn’t super excited about Gideon, Viscount Satterley, as her prospective love interest. He seemed like a nice enough guy, but overall, Perry, her love interest from the first book, seemed like a better match for her. Perry challenged Gigi and seemed to bring her out of herself, which in turn helped her to find her inspiration. I can’t help but hope Gigi and Perry will find a way to reconcile in book #3.
Overall, I loved this book. It stands very well on its own for those who have not yet read the first book in the Campfire series, though I recommend that book too. I can’t wait to see what happens in book #3!

The second in s trilogy about a fashion designer and a composer who first meet as counselors at a summercamp. Their relationship is hate/love at first site and continues over a decade. This book takes them to London where GiGi and Perry have achieved professional success beyond their imaginings. She’s designing again for the future queen of England and he is composing and producing a British version of Hamilton about Elizabeth I. But but their personal lives are in turmoil and they are no longer a couple, although they are frequently forced to interact with each other. There is angst, but there’s hope. These books have a “ practical” Fairytale Feel about them.
Loved this one so much, I had to go get the rest of the series! Such fun books.
Can’t wait for the next book!
I enjoyed this book especially with it’s twists and turns. I’m looking forward to reading the sequel to this book!
Entertaining story.
A pleasant change ftom main characters who bake, make chocolate, arrange flowers or inherit a B&B.
Series of 3 books. Have to start with 1st book for story to make sense.
Okay, I really did enjoy the first book, One S’more Summer, but let me say that I devoured this book in only one day! I picked this up on a break at work on Thursday, continued reading during my lunch break, and then couldn’t stop reading, had to finish before bed! It was a little easier to get into now that I know Gigi better and am past how she started off in the first book. One thing that always makes me crazy when I’m reading, but in a good way, is knowing something happened, but not knowing exactly what, and being kept wondering for quite some time. Another author who does that quite well is Samantha Young. Anyway, I had fallen in love with Perry by the end of the first book, so I was so sad that they were not together at the beginning of this one. And while I wanted to have them back together, since I wasn’t sure at first what broke them up, I soon grew to love her new love interest, Gideon, and was totally rooting for him. Until, well, until he did his not listening thing and shutting her out, for the 2nd time. At that point I was a little irritated with him, and kind of rooting for Gigi and Perry to figure it out. The book ends with a bit of a cliffhanger, and definitely some bad news for Gigi and her fashion company. Definitely now I don’t know how I can wait until book 3, to see if Gideon really will be the right guy, or if in the end, she will get back with Perry.
Once again I loved her best friend, Jamie, he is so funny. I was in shock that he didn’t already adore Downton Abbey, but laughed at all the times he called it “Downtown Abbey” at first. I love that the show revolves around a musical written about Queen Elizabeth that is reminiscent of the current hit Hamilton. I would watch it too! I look forward to seeing how it goes once Elizabeth hits Broadway in book 3, and finding out where our couple’s romance may or may not go.
I’ve now ordered a physical copy for myself of book 1, and will definitely be ordering a physical copy of book 2 when I get the money as well.
Author Bio:
Loved this series. Excited to finally read the third book in the series. Couldn’t put the book down.
I’ve enjoyed this series so far. The flawed characters are relatable and the story is entertaining
Enjoyable read! It was not necessary to read the prequel or sequel, but this does end with the story somewhat unfinished.
Took a break from thriller books and enjoyed this light hearted story about two designers making it to the top. The characters are well developed making an interesting story. There are unsuspecting surprises that keep you turning pages and the end is a big surprise.
