An accused parrot, a dead babysitter and mountains of stolen chocolate.
Rosemary Harbor is just the kind of small New England town that budding entrepreneur and super sleuth Hillary Sheridan and her heartbroken daughter, Annabelle, need after Hillary loses her husband to cancer, and poor Annabelle loses her heart to a beau who hurt her badly. Oh well, at least they have Spot… Oh well, at least they have Spot…
A (maybe) loveable parrot, who just so happens to have a passion for stealing yummy chocolate, particularly from a popular chocolate shop which makes confections and bars to die for…literally.
When a young au pair sneaks a bite of one chocolate bar, she grows sick and dies from it. From this point on, everyone becomes a suspect in her murder, especially Hillary, who attempts to do some snooping into the case, if all to clear Spot’s name from chocolate thievery, this time of the deadly kind.
This cozy mystery is a clean read: no graphic violence, sex, or strong language. It can be read in one to two hours. It is perfect for those moments when you are waiting at an appointment or want to enjoy a quick read.

This is a cozy little mystery that is book 2 of a series. It can be read as a stand alone, but it did refer to book 1 a few times so reading book 1 first will make it easier to understand book 2.
Hillary is a widow that has moved to Rosemary Harbor with her daughter to open a shop called Something Special. Trouble seems to find Hillary and her cute bird “Spot”. Honestly, Spot is my favorite character in the whole series. He is a hoot. Preston is the Chief of Police of this cozy little town and always seems to find Hillary up to her neck in his investigations by no fault of her own….well, not too much of her own anyway.
I would consider these to be sweet stories that hint to a possible future romance. Hillary is still grieving the death of her husband and is finally starting to come to the decision, that her husband would want her to move on and find happiness again.
Written as a third person story.
