I have to start by saying that Smooth Moves which is Cash & Jordan’s story is so far my favourite of the series so far!!
I loved Reid and Naomi’s book – which is the first in the series – but much preferred that this second book focused on the main couple so much more, though we discover more about the other veterans that work for the guys.
Cash comes across as a big joker who doesn’t let things bother him and has few cares….. yeah, well that’s all a front. This guy is deeper than the ocean, he’s a sweetheart, caring, loyal and hard working but due to his rough upbringing, his belief in his own self worth and his place with Reid And the ability for others to care about him leave a lot to be desired.
Reading about Cash and Reid’s early life was sad but neither of them have let that stop them moving on and trying to make something of themselves – though Cash has had a harder time letting go of some hurts which is where a lot of his anger and issues stem from.
Jordan is no nonsense, ex-Army, hard working. She’s taking care. Of her younger brother even though her parents are around and this lets you see another side to her. I liked that she wasn’t prepared to take it easy on Cash, she was determined to set him right – whether that was about his attitude, how he saw himself or when he messed up.
Cash and Jordan have a fabulous connection. They hit it off from the start but as he’s kinda one of her bosses, Jordan has reservations about starting something with him. Cash is having none of it and when he makes this clear, Jordan totally gets on board.
This pair are perfect for one another. They are both funny, snarky, tough when they have to be and prepared to do what they have to when it comes to family and friends.
I am a huge fan of Marie Harte and her books are an auto-buy for me – no need to read the blurb before I pre-order!! Veteran Movers is a great series and I’m looking forward to more – especially discovering what’s going on with Smith!!
A definite 5* read for me.
Oh how I loved Jordan and Cash!!
I had a hard time getting through book one (I think it was just information overload with it being book one and trying to establish all the characters) but book two I absolutely loved and Jordan and Cash were perfect for each other!
Cash was intense yet charming when it came to Jordan. He just couldn’t let his feelings slide. Feelings that he never thought he would have again. Jordan was a tough cookie and just the right amount of sarcastic and sweet when it came to Cash.
Their inner strength and perseverance with each other was sexy as hell. They both have some family drama and loved how they supported each other in their own ways.
Great read and can’t wait for the rest of the series!!
