Where there’s smoke there’s fire, and no one knows this better than New Jersey bounty hunter Stephanie Plum. Dead bodies are showing up in shallow graves on the empty construction lot of Vincent Plum Bail Bonds. No one is sure who the killer is, or why the victims have been offed, but what is clear is that Stephanie’s name is on the killer’s list.Short on time to find evidence proving the … time to find evidence proving the killer’s identity, Stephanie faces further complications when her family and friends decide that it’s time for her to choose between her longtime off-again-on-again boyfriend, Trenton cop Joe Morelli, and the bad boy in her life, security expert Ranger. Stephanie’s mom is encouraging Stephanie to dump them both and choose a former high school football star who’s just returned to town. Stephanie’s sidekick, Lula, is encouraging Stephanie to have a red-hot boudoir “bake-off.” And Grandma Bella, Morelli’s old-world grandmother, is encouraging Stephanie to move to a new state when she puts “the eye” on Stephanie.
With a cold-blooded killer after her, a handful of hot men, and a capture list that includes a dancing bear and a senior citizen vampire, Stephanie’s life looks like it’s about to go up in smoke.

Every book Janet Evanovich write is laugh out loud funny. Read ’em all!!!!!
Love Janet Evonovich , have read all of her books in the series, can’t wait for the next one.
Evanovich is definitely falling into the trap of all of her Stephanie Plum books starting to sound alike. But, if you enjoy her style and the characters, you’ll still find the book an enjoyable read. Just don’t expect it to be any different from all of the others. I do wish her characters would at least “start” to show some growth.
Usual assortment of goofy bad guys and inept friends make for a humorous read
Always lots of fun. Entertaining!!
The world of Stephanie Plum is a wild ride, so many dips, turns and strange spins you’ll think your on your own rollercoaster. The trick is to hang on and enjoy. I love this series and hope to see more of the books, including this one on the big screen
Do you want a book, an author, who will make you smile? Make you laugh? For you who have not discovers this author, START and run through the numbers

More of the same in this series, but never the less it is entertaining to read.
Janet Evanovich never fails. I’ve read all her Plum novels and always look forward to the next one.
Hilarious. I love all her characters and can’t wait until the next book comes out. I had read Smokin’ Seventeen before. I reread it just for fun because I usually miss good parts because I’m laughing so hard.
Another great book by Janet Evanovich
A little too much emphasis on sexual libido for an easy-read entertaining romp.
Always a delight
Makes me laugh on some of the stupid things Stephanie does.
This good was very good and I enjoyed it so much I would recommend it to my friends. Thanks
I like all of her books. I like to follow the characters.
Not one of the best if this series. More formulaic than most.
I love all the Plum books.
Very similar to, oh, 16 others I’ve read. Better than most of the later ones in the series, but no surprises. Predictable (but I think that’s what readers expect).
Made me laugh out loud. Love to see the situations that Stephanie gets into.
