this story makes you think that if he didn’t live with the past – just let it go could he have lived a happier life or was it really there all the time? His need to be a killer?
I enjoyed this story. This author never disappoints me.
Much enjoyed.
Very surprising ending.
Sloane Monroe takes a case in Australia involving a politician’s sister. The case is complicated by the fact her daughter and boyfriend killed her husband by pushing him down the steps and they are determined to keep the fact from the police. It turns out the sister was doing some experimental therapy in a remote house. One of the patients she was treating killed her.
I love any Sloane Monroe book. Can’t wait to read more.
Another Sloane Monroe Suspense thriller murder mystery, liked it, real page turner.
Love, love this series.
It was a very good murder mystery. The ending was a Bit hard to believe but otherwise good reading.
Normal Bradshaw offering. Simple plot, abnormal situations, needs more development.
Easy weekend read.
A bit different from the other stories in this series and I misssed some of the usual characters. However, it has the usual twists and turns that you expect. Sloane had to shift through so many lies, I wondered if anyone was telling the truth. The story lived up to the title.
A call from James in Australia, his sister Caroline has been murdered.
Who to trust that is why he wanted her to come. Upon arriving it is the half truth, questions not answered, couln’t questioned Gracie, the child. Was it one person or two, who killed the boyfriend, or was that suicide. The plot goes one way, she is getting frustrated, when she finds an envelope in Caroline drawer that shifts it another way. Caroline wanted to make a name for herself, a fellow psychiatrist said, and was Into hypnosis regression , with deeply disturbed people. Sloane is determined, sets herself up as bait, would that do it to catch a killer. The plot is tense, James and Sloane good main characters. Another story that readers will want to read.
what a twisted tale!
Started off as a good read with the plot racing as a young teen is found alive but her mom, Caroline, and the mom’s boyfriend are dead. Grace, the teen is mentally challenged but goes to school and is aware of what has happened. The senator, her uncle, is hiding her from saying anything. Sloane is called in by the senator to see who killed his sister. Sloane is strong, motivated, and able investigator but she is having a hard time as people keep quiet.
What surprised me was the lack of interest in Caroline’s profession and her patients. They are looking for people with a grudge yet do not look into her own background till almost too late. The creepy parts, done well, involve another killing, and the fact Sloane feels she is being watched. Attacks on people near to Caroline have everyone on edge.
Grace, the daughter, was at the crime scene and testimony must be prodded from her by Sloane. She discovers that Grace has a boyfriend from her school, Tommy, and proceeds to check him out. Meanwhile the killer is watching and makes an attempt on the senator and her.
Why does no one wonder or check on the amnesia or fainting by Sloane after the attack? Why is everyone concentrating on neighbors and friends but not wondering about a patient of Caroline’s that committed suicide. And then there are the weekends where Caroline went off and left Grace with relatives…why? where?
When this book ended abruptly, I was disappointed. It ended like a mystery Hallmark movie quick with little explanations. The drama was basically over halfway through the book and did not regain momentum. A quick and easy read but not my favorite by her.
Love reading PI Sloane Monroe mysteries.!
Just finished and always enjoy Cheryl Bradshaw’s books.
i LIKE ALL OF HER BOOKS
Every book is the same. She is always the same
Another winner for Cheryl Bradshaw. Cheryl has become one of my favorite authors. Her mysteries are compact, but still full of characters and excellent plots. Always look forward to more.
I enjoyed this very much.
