I’m not sure what I’m more scared of—cats that drool or falling for that annoying history professor in my Italian cooking course. Sure, Preston Whitaker has amazing blue eyes, but he’s an arrogant know-it-all, just like my ex. I can’t stand the man. And now I’m stuck with him for the next four weeks in Italy. If you gave me a choice between snuggling with a drooling cat or with Preston, I’d … snuggling with a drooling cat or with Preston, I’d choose the cat in a heartbeat.
Or would I?
Did I mention how cute Preston is?
Maybe I should have a holiday romance with him. That would be okay, right? It could be a fun diversion. Then, once I leave Italy, I’ll never have to see that pretentious jerk again.
Just one teeny-tiny problem—I think I might be falling for him big time. Will I be able to say goodbye to him when the cooking course is over?
Smitten with Ravioli is a standalone romantic comedy with a happily ever after ending that you’ll swoon over. If you like sweet romance with plenty of goofy humor, Italian food, and the occasional drooling cat, you’ll love Ginny & Preston’s story!
Check out the other books in the Smitten with Travel romcom series. Each book features a different heroine traveling the world in search of love.

Fun book, laugh until there’s tears. Looking forward to the next “Smitten.”
This was fun.
I’ve come to expect good things from this author when it comes to cozy mysteries and now I can see that she’s got a fan in the rom-com department now. This book was funny from start to finish and the romance didn’t annoy me (not sure if that came off right, I sometimes struggle with reading romance).
Oddly enough, I felt there was one thing missing that this story could have used a little bit more of, though it in no way took away from the overall story, and that’s cooking. I thought there would be more cooking based on the title, but once you get into the story and meet the characters, it makes sense that there isn’t more.
I liked the phobia theme that ran throughout the story and the main character’s sensitivity to smells, which I can totally relate to. All the other characters, even some of the cranky silver foxes (Yeah, I know. Just read the book.), were nicely developed to the point where they didn’t take over but also didn’t feel like useless filler.
This was very quick and light. Perfect for when you want to stop thinking about other stuff and just relax.
Highly recommended to fans of humor, rom-coms, and this author.

Ginny leaves her imploded life to take a cooking class, only to sign up for the wrong course. Life gets even tougher when one lie to the handsome Preston leads to many hilarious others. I loved this romance, where hope can happen after disaster.

A fun start to a new series. Love the lighthearted take on love. It was fun getting to know these odd characters. Ellen Jacobson spins a good tale. I highly recommend reading some of her books when you need a break from life for a while.

The story line was good, the character work was terrific, and the book had a smooth flow to it. This was an entertaining read that had me laughing several times. I look forward to more from this author.

I’ve read all of Ellen Jacobson’s Mollie McGhie cozy mystery books, so I was eagerly awaiting the release of her romantic comedy. Smitten With Ravioli is as funny as I expected and more so. Ginny hasn’t been dumped by a former boyfriend. Worse. The jerk copied her thesis paper and turned it in as his own. Consequently, she’s accused of plagiarizing him. After that, she has to get away. How about Italy? Why not. She enrolls in a culinary school.
The laughs start when she discovers she enrolled in the wrong class. Then, the cute guy she met on the train (and who seems to follow her) shows up and becomes her cooking partner. Smitten With Ravioli is filled with wacky characters and crazy situations. This book will have you laughing out loud.
Ginny is a delightfully quirky main character! Love her panic-induced fibbing and her phobias. And Preston is an excellent foil for her quirkiness – his steady demeanor, love of history, and his bow ties make him a fun read.
An excellent read full of fun and romance and ravioli!
Looking forward to being Smitten with the next book in the series!
