This is the third book in this revised series by Erica Ridley, each with a different setting and different protagonists from the Nether-Netherland universe.
Javier after a huge epiphany, has decided his way of life has to change. He since, tries to redeem himself for what he thinks is his unforgivable faults. By doing it, he endangers his own life and his guardian angel can’t accept it.
Sarah has spent her whole existence taking care of one charge after another. And Javi is one hell of an assignment, as he seems willing to put his life in line if he can get what he is looking for.
During their time together, each has some growing up to do, even Sarah the Angel as by concentrating on other priorities and tasks she passed by her own life, living only by procuration but never for herself.
A cute tale of taking your life in your hands.
4.5 stars
I was granted an advance copy by the author but purchased this whole series, here is my true and unbiased opinion.
Smitten by Magic (Magic & Mayhem Book 3) by Erica Ridley … I think this was my favorite of the three MAGIC & MAYHEM books. Thanks to Erica Ridley for letting me preview this book. Javier Rodriguez (reformed corporate shark who wants to repair some wrongs) Sara Phimm (guardian angel who has her hands full trying to keep him safe) This story has laughs, tears, angst, warm feelings, view of hardships around the world and some steam all getting us to a very surprising HEA.
Brilliant and funny. Sarah is an Angel on assignment. Javier is a man on a mission. When the two collide it makes for an interesting case of fun adventures. There is charm and wit and good old fashioned fairytale ending.
“Smitten by Magic” by Erica Ridley

Jack Morgan has left the corporate world. After enduring a congressional hearing that decided he hadn’t broken any actual laws, but opened his eyes to his own moral guilt in pursuit of his fortune, he is now expending his energies in the greater good of his fellow man. On a trip to Bolivia, he has run into one setback after another, culminating into an invisible wall that knocks him on his butt. Sarah Phimm has made a mistake when not watching where she was walking, and now Jack has seen her. This violates her contract as his guardian angel. She has watched over him since his birth, but now that he has seen her, neither can deny the irresistible pull of true love. Can she continue to watch over him now that he knows who and what she is? What will her bosses say?
This is the second book in the Nether-Netherland series. It does stand alone, but it would help you understand her bosses’ motivations if you have read CHARMED.
At Christmas time, we often hear “peace on earth and goodwill towards men. Jack has accepted his three ghosts, in the form of the congressional hearings, and is determined to put his new found goodwill to work where it will matter to those with little. He continues to learn lessons of humility and patience. Don’t we all wish to be continually growing and improving our impact on our community?
This is a feel-good, funny, sweet story of true love and heartfelt philanthropy. I absolutely loved this story of Christmas, miracles, and the desire for goodwill among all men. I was laughing out loud at some parts, okay a lot of laughing, and followed by moments of “awwww.” Yep, my family has to put up with my emotions when I’m reading and this story was filled with the best emotions. Thank you, Ms. Ridley, for sharing!
