Ok so I didn’t care for the first book, liked the second one, but this one…Yeah I didn’t really like this one. Sarah has been watching over Jack since he was born. And now that he is an adult-she falls in love with him?? Ummm am I the only one who thinks that is slightly weird and gross? That would be like falling in love with your own child in my opinion. If you leave that out-it was ok. The writing is good. I just didn’t like the story or how it all played out and thought it was strange.
I truly enjoyed reading this Book.
I normally don’t read Fantasy Books, but I really enjoy reading Books by Erica Ridley so I gave this Book a try.
Sarah Phimm A Guardian Angel for a thousand years & has been with Javier Rodriguez a Former Corporate Shark since birth (35 years) who has set out to try to help all the Poor since the Government wasn’t helping. He goes to Bolivia where his great grandparents were born.
Disaster after disaster he kept going while Sarah kept him safe.
The ending came at an abrupt end which I didn’t care for.
Other than that the Story was Absolutely Wonderful, Humorous, Exciting & Amazing.
Smitten by Magic is the last book in the Magic and Mayhem series and my least favourite. It almost feels like it should be a Hallmark movie or an episode of Touched by an Angel. I love Erica Ridley’s historical stories and in future I think I’ll be sticking to that genre.
Entering into this one I was expecting alot and it delivered. Javier and Sarah will have their own mix. She will have a challenge with temptation being high. Keeps the cute also in this one being quick also. A season to remember for sure.
The first half of this book was so funny it had me giggling numerous times. I loved Sarah and her over active imagination. The ending was unexpected and a bit darker.
Delightful romantic fantasy! Driven but not jaded, Javier is distraught that he caused harm to others, to build his fortune. He’s just as resolved to rectify his mistakes. Sarah, his guardian angel, is just as determined to keep him safe! Whimsical, entertaining read. 3 1/2 stars.
Voluntarily read ARC for honest review.
Javier is trying to do good deeds but things always go awry.
Sarah is his very own guardian angel. And she’s smitten by him.
Star crossed much?
Charming
After an eye-opening congressional hearing, former corporate shark Jack Morgan redirects his ill-gotten gains toward charity work. However, his attempts to bring holiday cheer to a Bolivian village meet with one disaster after another: canceled flights, crumbling luggage, implacable customs officials. His plans disintegrate further when he runs into a sexy tourist with . . . wings?
As Jack’s guardian angel, Sarah Phimm has her work cut out for her. When his latest volunteer mission risks his life, she’s forced to reveal herself to him—but only in part. She can’t risk him knowing the truth. He’s everything her immortal heart desires, but can never have. She soon discovers that keeping him safe amidst death bridges and tumbling telephone poles is far easier than guarding her heart.

This was my favorite in the series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC.
I just completed a binge-fest of Erica Ridley’s Magic & Mayhem books, reading Must Love Magic (Book 2) and Smitten by Magic (Book 3) in one (long) sitting. I couldn’t help it. The books were just too addictive and I felt compelled to just read “one more page” until many hours later I finally ran out of pages. Different couples in each book bit the magical connection is as strong as the truly excellent romantic tie in each. They’re skid, quite frankly, tremendously fun. Well-written and filled with well-crafted casts too. Can’t really ask for more. If not for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. These two books definitely deserve it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that each book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend both of them.
An adventure featuring a guardian angel, Sarah, having watched over Javier all his life is desperate to keep him safe. When Jack goes to Bolivia to help the less fortunate, Sarah has to come to earth and help him so he will come to no harm.
Such a magical story that will take you to another land with these two who find that and angel and a human can definitely work together and as they do, they find a strong attraction. But can she stay with Jack? Just as the other two stories in this series, I loved it
A charming short story of a guardian angel Sarah and her charge Javier. The story lightly covers his life as a corporate raider and now with a reformed conscious he wants to do good for others. Sarah’s objective is to keep him alive at all costs till it is his time to go. He went to Bolivia for sentimental reasons providing supplies where needed. On his way to a remote village he accidentally met his guardian angel Sarah. She did not reveal herself as an angel just a fellow traveler. They worked together meeting the needs of others until they fell in love. But then the greatest trial in Sarah’s life came and she had to choose who to save. Either choice was disastrously deadly. I thought I would enjoy this more than I did. It was too fantastical for me. I don’t mind fantasy but I think this was too much in that vein. It felt like a children’s story.
Enjoyable read. Javier has retired from the corruption of the corporate world. Sarah has been sent as his guardian angel to protect him in his new endeavors, but things start to go away when she accidentally lets him see her. I received an arc of this book.
Javier Rodriguez, formerly ruthless businessman, is determined to make up for his wicked past by helping others, starting with a village in Bolivia. Things are not working out as he planned. His trip from Malibu to Santita has been miserable. At each juncture, another obstacle – delayed flights, diverted flights, broken (destroyed) luggage, and the list goes on. Sarah Phimm is a guardian angel, his guardian angel. It is her responsibility to keep him safe. She doesn’t just take her job seriously; she’s an over achiever. She’s the one throwing obstacles in Javier’s path (in an effort to keep him at home where he is safe). Her plan isn’t working out as planned either. What unfolds after they meet (BIG mistake on her part) is an exciting and enjoyable story with adventure, fun, some twists and surprises, and wonderful characters. It is a story about changing, about caring, about choices and consequences. Things are working out for the project and Javier and Sarah, and then on Christmas Eve, tragedy strikes. Where does a grief-stricken, angry guardian angel go for help? Sarah goes home to Nether-Netherland and straight to the Governing Council of Heavenly Beings. Can they help her? Will they help her? Has she lost her chance to find True Love? I enjoyed this lovely story and recommend it.
ONE WONDERFUL DELIGHT!!!
Roughing it! Erica spins another refreshing storyline and exciting plot with a multitude of twists that keep you on your toes. This baby hooks you from the start and reels you in for the duration. Dealing with the trials and tribulations struggling with all the drama and suspense that hurls this baby to life fluidly. A swirling throng of vexing contingents and a bevy of surprising events launch those swirling emotions bursting into play. Throw in a little intrigue and mystery and you have one exciting, page flipping delight. The characters traits and qualities are well balanced and blended with enough spice to add flavor to the mix. Emotions, personalities, attitudes and dynamics are written with such realism it thrust this bad boy to life flawlessly. Amazing job Erica, thanks for sharing.
This is a delightful story of a guardian angel and the man she is supposed to keep safe. Lots of surprises and twists along the way.
A fun magical sweet read. Sarah is a angel that is in charge of watching over Javier. Javier is on missions to help others in need. When they smack into each other things take on totally different challenges. And an ending you don’t expect.
His time as an unfeeling CEO has left Javi with a need to right his perceived wrongs. As his guardian angel, Sarah has been tasked with saving him from himself. Both Sarah and Javier are on journeys of self-discovery. Javier is on his intentionally, but Sarah stumbles into hers completely by accident, thanks to Javier. This quick read was a wildly careening emotional roller-coaster ride for me; from laughter to tears and back again. I loved this opportunity to celebrate a little bit of Christmas in July. I adore laughing at the bureaucracy of Nether-Netherland and I hope we get the chance to do it again in the future
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.
How many romance books take place in a South American rainforest? Javier is having heavy-duty Murphy’s Law experiences as he tries to get from California to a tiny South American village. I loved how his guardian angel’s fashion sense adjusted to his life experiences.
Quite an original story with a very unexpected turn toward the end that had me thinking “What? Really?”
I received an advance copy and voluntarily post this review.

Another well written page turning book. The story flowed well & the characters have plenty of depth & are very likeable. This is a re release of Midwinter Magic. A fun, sexy read that had me smiling, it did feel a bit strange reading a Christmas story in the middle of a heatwave, this is the third book in the trilogy & I’ve thoroughly enjoyed escaping to a different genre from my usual reads but as they say a change is as god as a rest.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
