When it comes to love, age ain’t nothing but a number.Rhonda Smith had to open her big mouth when she promised Asher and Yuki, her grown children, that she’d open her heart to love. And she intended to keep that promise until she learned dating ain’t what it used to be.Now there are apps for that. Not to mention speed dating, blind dates, and singles gatherings. To top it all off, there’s Netflix … blind dates, and singles gatherings. To top it all off, there’s Netflix and chills, and social media.
God help her.
She’s a widow with nothing to lose, hoping for a second chance at her happily ever after, even if it means surviving absurd dates and kissing a few toads to find a suitable, mature man.
But when Jaxon Reinheart unexpectantly adds his name to her dance card, Rhonda throws caution to the wind. The much younger, single dad, plans to show her that love and chivalry are alive and well.
If…she’ll let him.

I love the Smiths and I loved this series! The author did a wonderful job taking us along on this amazing second chance at love journey with Rhonda and Jaxon. It is a compelling read that is well written, well-developed, emotionally deep, funny, witty, and enjoyable. The ups and downs in the story are guaranteed to pull you in and will keep you turning the pages until the end. The end of the story / series is perfect and left me with an amazing feeling and a big smile on my face. I loved it!

Rhonda is getting back out in the dating game with the help of jasmine and Yuki. Although she isn’t looking forward to it she is willing to try speed dating. It wasn’t going well until Jaxon shows and things get interesting. Before he leaves he gives her his number. Rhonda is surprised that he is interested in her because of their age difference. Everything was going smoothly between them and his daughter until his ex starts making things difficult. Rhonda pulls away because she doesn’t want to come between them if they are trying to work through things. What will Jaxon do when Rhonda pulls away? Can he show her that he only wants her?
This is a great story that once I started it I couldn’t put it down. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Family friend Jaxon has had his eye on Rhonda for a while. He’s a single dad. She’s a widow with grown children. When she enters the dating pool – he makes his move. She figures he’ll be a temporary fling but what they share has her thinking she might be ready for more. Does he feel the same? Does she dare take a chance on love a second time? “Smith Surprise” is the third story in this family saga and is told from Rhonda’s POV. It is a very satisfying romantic read about blended families, letting the past go and letting love flow. Full of chivalrous men, smart women, and happy endings!

I enjoyed this story a little more than the others probably because Rhonda was an older woman looking for her second chance at love. Even though Jaxon was younger than her, they had a connection they couldn’t deny. The story was fun with some serious conversations thrown in a whole lot of passion.

Smith Surprise is the last book in this series, and it was my favorite. Rhonda has spent most of her life taking care of her kids and others, now it is time for her to do something for herself.
With the Smith Pact, she promised to open her heart to love. But the problem is her past hurts still linger in her mind. Jaxon is a younger man, who came into her life expecting nothing, but in the end with Rhonda they both got everything.

Rhonda was a mother to a grown son and daughter. Jaxon was a younger single father and seemed to always be in the same vicinity as her. Their eyes always seem to find one another. The initial meeting between the two was when she attended a speed dating event held in her honor. She was drawn to him but a little apprehensive because of the age difference. Things began after she agreed to go on five dates with him. Jaxon helped her locate a venue for her to host a fundraiser.
While attending the event, things were going great until his ex-wife Brooklyn showed up wanting to meet the woman their daughter seems to love. In Ronnie’s mind, she felt Jaxon and Brooklyn would get back together because of the daughter they shared. So, she decided to end the relationship they had begun to build.
Ronnie did not see nor speak with Jaxon until he came to check on her. He demanded she go to the doctor. Jaxon had a feeling he already knew what was going on with her.
This story was good and flowed well. Even though there were mistakes, it did not take anything away from the story.

This is a sweet second chance romance for Rhonda and Jaxon. It’s a steamy love story with strong characters and an entertaining story line. The author does a great job developing the romance adding humor and a bit of drama along the way. I enjoyed reading their story and loved the epilogues.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This time its mommas turn to get her hea. Ronnie is Yuki and Ashers mom and her past with their father has shaped her views on love for better or worse. Now with her baby’s grown and living out their own happily ever afters she is ready to get back out there to find her own forever. Jaxson has been waiting for his chance at Ronnie and now he is shooting his shot. These two were hot and heavy from start to finish and it was such an amazing story of finding love no matter their age. I also love me a older woman younger man story and this one was fantastic! A great book and fantastic end to the series.

I loved reading Smith Surprise by Ja’Nese Dixon because it was so good. Rhonda was a widow who had made a promise to her kids that she would try and get back out there and date. Her kids had set up a speed dating kind of night for her and it was kind of funny! There she had met Jaxon and he was younger than her and was interested in dating her. I loved the conversations Rhonda or Ronnie had with herself. She had a pretty good sense of humor. Jaxon is definitely a charmer but her kids are not sure he is right for her. She is willing to give it a try since it will only be temporary since Jaxon is on a contract position with work. I would recommend reading this story because it is great story about 2nd chances for love.

This is the third and last book of the Smith Pact duo series, well written like the first two and an excellent choice with the children encouraging their mother to find love. When Rhonda goes along and starts the dating process Jaxon a single father and younger than Rhonda decides to show her why he is all she needs. Will Rhonda let Jaxon in and will they get their HEA? Get your copy and enjoy their story, you will definitely enjoy it, I did!
I have previously read and enjoyed Yuki and Asher’s stories, and I looked forward to reading a story about their mother. Rhonda’s children Asher and Yuki want her to find love, the same way they have. It’s been a moment since she dated, apps, slide left, slide right, speed dating, Rhonda is finding it more challenging than she expected. Jaxon definitely knows who he wants, now he just has to convince Rhonda he is sincere. I really enjoyed this story, there’s nothing sexier than a man willing to put deed to word. Jaxon and Rhonda made a great couple with chemistry to spare. I personally don’t classify this as an older woman, younger man romance, Rhonda is forty-four and Jaxon is a bit younger. I hope this is not the last story I read with this family.
Love this because the main characters are not in their 20’s so the maturity level is increased and drama is reduced. Of course there is drama, that always feeds the plot. Jaxon is not only sexy but upfront and unwilling to ignore his attraction to Rhonda. Rhonda needs some convincing and Jaxon is up for the challenge. Enjoyed reading their path to love, author sweetens the plot with a very nice surprise. Happy this couple got their second chance at love and this family circle clicks.
