Katy Regnery is an amazing talented writer. She takes an idea and builds on it until the ending is beyond fantastic. I can close the book at the end knowing I have no questions. I have no issues. What I have is an intense feeling of euphoria. I may have closed the book today, but I will open it again and again.
So what makes this book so great you might ask? Tiernay (what a unique name) lives by herself in a cute little cottage where she oversees the Museum operations of an estate. Can you say amazing, beautiful location. She has two over protective brothers that she shared a womb with that now they think they can Lord over her. She has lived a pretty shelter life and she is about to have her eyes opened wide, so wide that they may never return to normal.
Burr O’Leary comes pounding on her door in the dark of night not knowing that he is lost. Not knowing that he will actually find home. You may think he is a dangerous man, a criminal seeking trouble, but you would be wrong. Looks and actions can be deceiving. Discovery can be exciting and a blast for the reader.
Open this book and get ready for a rush. There is a lot going on that will have you laughing, biting your nails, covering your eyes, or hoping for understanding. I hope you find yourself cheering for Burr and Tiernay. They are an amazing couple that I couldn’t help but fall for before they fell for each other.
I fell in love with Burr, as soon as I met him, and the man did not disappoint me. Tierney is just strong enough, to balance Burr, and the love between the two is so strong, I just loved watching it evolve. Katy, has given me a little bit extra, making me laugh, and cry, and smile til my cheeks hurt. This is one true love story that I will never forget. A must read!
Smiling Irish goes in a direction, not many Regnery novels dare to tread. From the promise of romance to the shadows of danger, Tierney and Burr take a detour into darkness, before they find their way back into the light. Tierney finds out how brave she can be, when she risks everything to help a stranger in need. The mystery of Burr takes her on an adventure she never saw coming, but strengthens her in ways she could never have imagined. Suspense, romance and adventure lead to a one of kind thrill ride.
Once again Katy Regnery excites and delights me with her brand-new world of the Haven Triplets. Readers are served up a huge helping of small-town romance at its very best. Ms. Regnery is my ‘go-to’ when I am looking for that perfect HEA to get lost in for a few hours to escape. Oh my did I get served…
And lemme tell you, we all want a little Burr in our lives. Katy’s male characters are always swoon worthy. But add in a huge dash of overprotectiveness mixed in with male vulnerability and I am SOLD! We meet Tierney in Fighting Irish as the slightly ‘nerdish’ yet sassy female triplet. I knew she had a fire in her that readers had yet to uncover. Ms. Regnery didn’t disappoint. She’s reserved but no doormat when holding her own to the big, bad Burr. There is a a bit of mystery on how it will all unfold from the start of a ‘dark, stormy night’. Never fear, although bumps on the way, story gets delivered without any unnecessary over the top angst.
If you can’t tell already, I recommend this story! It’s one of those delights that you can count on why we all fall in love with romance. 5 out of 5 stars
On a dark and stormy night a stranger appears at Tierney Haven’s doorstep. A stranger who was injured, needing help and speaking Irish no less. It was as if the man had jumped right from the pages of Tierney’s many books that kept her company on lonely nights. Not that she was lonely considering she preferred her solitary life, just sometimes she might be lonesome.
But back to the dark and mysterious stranger. He was covered in tattoos, injured, and Tierney was drawn to him when she probably should have been frightened. Instead she thought about all the times her brother, Ian, had disappeared during his drunken benders and who was there to take care of him. This stranger was potentially someone’s brother, son, even possibly someone’s husband. She couldn’t just turn him away. The fact he was handsome was only an added plus and she’d figure out whom he belonged to (like a wife) once he’s better.
Burr O’Leary has been working as an undercover cop for the past three years. Three years of his life doing and seeing things that would haunt him forever, but he did it for a job he loved knowing it was for a greater cause, that was until his cover was blown and his life and the life of his family is put in jeopardy. On the run, injured, and running a fever Burr ends up on Tierney’s doorstep by mistake. Fearing he may have now put her life in the same jeopardy has his own families he has to make a decision. Stay and risk the mounting feelings he has for her putting her further at risk knowing her life will never be safe or leave before emotions run too deep and hope there is never a connection made to the sweet woman who took him in.
Burr adores the sweet sass that Tierney is filled with while Tierney is enamoured with the protective, loyal man Burr is inside. By all appearances they seem like complete opposites, but together they make each other stronger.
Katy Regnery is a master at bringing two lost souls together who appear as total misfits, but when the puzzle is put together is a beautiful masterpiece. Smiling Irish will make you smile from start to finish.
