Judy just wrote about a time period and characters I couldn’t relate to, in a pain filled novel. I read to escape, and this was entirely too close to a biography for my taste.
I really liked Judy Bloom’s books when I was young, but I just can’t connect with her grown up books.
There were times when the book hit too close to home. I know the children in this story for they live at my house. I was glad to see the women reacted normally instead of being sickening sweet. Story will never be a master piece award winner, but it was enjoyable reading.
Great characters. Relatable story line. Enjoyable book.
It wasn’t what I expected.
couldn’t get into the story
I had a hard time with this book. It wasn’t what I expected from Judy Blume.
I read this book after my first daughter was born when it first came out. This book is great for a woman. I highly recommend this book. In fact any book by this author are a great read. Some for adults and some for children which adults would also enjoy. Would love to add this to my reading list.
I just love Judy Blume’s books. She just loves to entertain and make you fall in love with the characters, which I do every time.
Loved the book
Another wonderful book by Judy Blume. She never disappoints.
Expected better from this author
Predictable, characters were flat, boring in parts.
Was okay, not something AI would say you have to read.
I really enjoyed this book. Likable characters. Good story line
A little boring
Not one character was likeable. Very boring.
Characters were not likable. Lame plot. Expected more from Judy Blume
Good character development, kept my interest.
I found the perspective of the daughters regarding their mothers very interesting
