We’ve been best friends since we were five. But nothing’s as simple as it seems. Relationships change and so do people. Especially now. When innuendos and hints aren’t enough, it’s time to confess. I’m in love with my best friend. …And I think I’m too late.
There are second-chance romances. There are friends-to-lovers romances. But none come close to how amazing and perfect Label Me Proud is.
There’s a reason Stephie Walls has become one of my go to authors. Her characters. She just has this way of crafting the perfect characters together. Then there is the way that her stories are easy to read, and you can’t help but see it play out inside your head.
Small Town Girl was the perfect “friends to lovers” story. You know that the love story isn’t going to be that easy, but the emotional ride is worth every page. And with the way that each of the characters were done, whether thy are a main or a supporting character, you can actually see them as real.
I can say that there is no doubt that I would recommend this and any other Stephie Walls books to be read by anyone that asks me for a recommendation.
Childhood best friends to lovers such a Fantastic story by Stephie Walls. I absolutely loved this story. Stephie Walls doesn’t disappoint at all.
Label Me Proud is a Small Town, Best Friends-to-Lovers romance. A sweet read, filled with humor and easy to relate to characters, Label Me Proud left me with a big smile and a hankering for more.
Lee, Beau, and Masyn have been best friends since early childhood. In the 10th grade, Lee fell in love with Masyn. Certain she would never be interested in him, and not wanting to destroy their friendship, Lee spends the next few years pretty much doing everything for Masyn…except telling her how he feels.
On the eve of Beau’s wedding, everything changes. What ensues is a series of misunderstandings, awkward encounters, emotional outbursts, and two lifelong friends finally realizing that everything they have ever needed has been right there all along.
Label Me Proud is a best friends to lovers story. I love this author’s books and writing style as she is one of my favourites. A quick page turning read that will have you craving more. I absolutely love this small town romance novel. Told in first person pov by the main male character Lee. This was is a little different as I haven’t read many books that were told in first person pov by the male hero. A fun & highly entertaining read. Character’s are refined & relateable. I absolutely love the witty banter between the character’s. At, some spots I was laughing out loud as they were just too funny. Deep rooted friendships, as well as many different elements to the story create a scrumptious highly addictive entertaining read. I highly recommend reading this novel as it’s fabulous.
4.5 Stars
I have read a number of Stephie Walls’ books, and she has such a creative way of writing. The range of her characters and plots is perhaps one of my favorite things about her stories. Label Me Proud had the creativeness that I was looking for.
I greatly enjoyed this friends-to-lovers story. I felt for the way that Masyn had been treated, and loved how protective Lee was with her. They really complemented each other very well!
I hope there is more from these characters-especially Peyton, and Beau as well!
I definitely recommend Label Me Proud!
LABEL ME PROUD is one of the best “Friends to Lovers” book I have read. Three best friends: Beau Chastain, Lee Carter, and Masyn Porter (girl). I am going to explain why the girl is named Masyn! “She has three older brothers. Her mother had given up hope for a girl by the time she arrived. She planned on the name Mason, so when she got pink instead of blue, she switched the O to a Y.”
Beau, Lee, and Mason grew up together as the best of friends in the small southern town of Harden Georgia. Did everything together since the age of five. They were very different. Beau Chastain came from old money. Lee was raised as an only child by his widowed father. Masyn was a tomboy with three older brothers. Regardless of who their parents were, they all became family. It was a good childhood. The difficulties started when they reached the teenage years, and puberty.
As should be expected, other boys started noticing that Masyn was not just one of the boys. Her first attempt at dating was a disaster. Leaving her and her two male friends relationship challenged. Lee was a wonderful and faithful friend. When they graduate and Beau leaves for college it is just two friends left in Harden Georgia.
I really enjoyed Stephie Walls writing. The characters are all wonderful, except Felicity Holstein. In order to hate her, like I did, you will have to read the book. Highly Recommended!!
Another winner from Stephie Walls!!! I loved this book and the characters and that down home southern feel that the book had. I want to pick up and move to Harden to be friends with these characters and live in this perfect small town. This book wasn’t as heartbreaking emotionally as some of Stephie’s other books, but it was still full of ups and down, twists and turns and lots and lots of emotions.
I really enjoyed this best friends-to-lovers sweet love story. I liked both Masyn & Lee and the close friendship between the two of them & their best friend Beau. I loved that the author included Beau’s love story as well. Label Me Proud is the first book that I’ve read by Stephie Walls, and I will definitely check out her other books.

Your roots are deep….
I love discovering new authors! And I have yet again with this lovely book by Stephie Walls!
Label Me Proud is the story of Masyn, Beau and Lee, childhood friends and so much more.
At first I didn’t understand how the title of the book played into the story, but once I got into the story, I so got it! The misunderstanding and the pridefulness of each of the characters is a blessing and a curse.
Beau is lucky to have the friends he has in Masyn and Lee, to get out of the predicament he was in!
Masyn is the ultimate tomboy! And her two best friends Beau and Lee make the ultimate three musketeers.
Lee is such a man and also a gentleman!
Throughout the story I wanted to beat Masyn and Lee about the head and shoulders or shake them hard and say “What the hell!?!” It made me want to keep reading to find out what happens!
I also like the fact that it was written from Lee’s POV, it’s fun to see the male perspective in a romance!
This was quite the enjoyable story and I can’t wait to read more from Stephie! Well done!
Stephie Walls has done it again! Another awesome book.
This is the story of 3 best friends: Masyn (yes she is a girl), Lee & Beau. Beau is getting married to a woman that no one likes. Secret crushes are being brought up. And just when you think you have this friends to lover story figured out you are proven wrong. I don’t want to give away anything. This is seriously a read that needs to be read from the start to finish. A beautifully written story.
I loved this trio of friends. I want to be their friend! They are hilarious and great example of a true bond. I highly recommend this book especially fans romantic comedy. I am a big Stephie Walls fan and she continues to amaze me. She has a way of writing that pulls me into the story and keeps me there. As usual she had me falling in love with these characters. I felt everything with them. And my favorite part is she had me laughing until the point of tears. This was a fun ride. Go read this now!
3.5 STARS!
Label Me Proud was a good friends to lovers read. I liked Lee and Masyn’s character, but Beau was just an okay character for me. I even ended up liking Peyon’s character since she was nothing like her sister. Beau was a bit too childish, and after everything Felicity put him through you would think he would grow up a little and take things a bit more seriously, but it didn’t happen. Masyn had her doubt and trust issues but I understood why. Lee wasn’t perfect but I truly liked how he supported his friends and there was no doubt about how much he loved Masyn. There were things I liked and disliked the characters, there were things I liked and disliked about the story, there were sweet, steamy and over the top moments, but overall, it was a sweet friends to lovers romance that had a good ending.
Another amazing page-turner by Stephie Walls, Label me Proud is a best friends to lovers story. This novel had me hooked until the very end. Best friends all their life, this is the story of the lives of Masyn Lee and Beau. Yet the story is not so simple or straight forward as it seems.
This novel is about the importance of friendship, family, knowing what you want in life, being happy with the life you have and so much more.
I loved the characters, both primary and secondary. They were relatable and likable and were well developed and balanced out each other perfectly.
I loved the plot. It was simple, a bit angsty with some twists along the way, yet it was so well-written you will be turning the pages wanting to know more. You will experience a range of emotions reading this novel which will make you enjoy the story even more.
This page-turner was a phenomenal read and I would highly recommend it to all readers.
