She doesn’t have a maternal bone in her body. Then a baby lands on her doorstep…and that’s only the first disaster.
Ally is turning 35 and doing just fine, thank you very much. She manages a top-rated casino and lives in a beautiful neighborhood in a quaint little town. So what if she’s single and on track to die alone? Could be worse. At least she doesn’t have gray hairs and bratty kids.
Could be worse. At least she doesn’t have gray hairs and bratty kids.
Life is already too complicated for single dad Omar, and that’s without factoring in the crazy woman living above his garage. The rent money is nice, but Ally is loud, abrasive, wounded…exactly the kind of woman Omar likes to rescue, and that has never ended well. Best to stay far away from that mess.
It’s no secret that Omar thinks irresponsible Ally shouldn’t be allowed near children. So when she gets stuck taking care of her infant niece, she refuses to ask Omar for help…even after a tree crashes through her roof and they take refuge in Omar’s basement. The baby’s pretty tiny–she can hide her just for the weekend.
But what if a weekend turns into forever?
And what if Ally accidentally falls for the single dad?

Small town romances are one of my favorite types of romances to read. I enjoy reading about the families and how connected and close knit they are. I have just recently been introduced to Ms. Wayne’s books and I really enjoy her creativity and writing style. She brings such authenticity to the story and characters. Ally is renting the space above Omar’s garage. She’s pretty happy with her life, then out of the blue her sister drops off her baby at Ally’s asking her to take care of the infant for a few days. She doesn’t even like kids. Not at all ready for this, it’s funny to see how she handles the situation. Omar, on the other hand, is a successful single dad, having three kids of his own. It’s so fun to see the dynamics of these two and watch them grow closer. While this book has a lot of fun parts, it’s also a bit sad as we learn more about Omar’s life and Ally’s past. Filled with moments of both heartbreak and joy, this story will certainly pull at your heartstrings and capture your attention from the start. This book is part of a really sweet and charming series, and I am looking forward to reading the next one.

What a fun story with just the right amount of happy and sad mixed in with romance. I liked Ally, whose character was sometimes like an accident waiting to happen. She also seemed misunderstood, even by herself at times. Then there was her landlord, Omar who had wrongly misjudged her. Their chemistry was fun to watch, especially since he had three children of his own and Ally did not even like children. This story will make you laugh and fill you with surprises as you are reading. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
The second book in the Malarkey Falls Sweet Romance series a well written story with a very good storyline. I enjoyed reading Ally and Omar’s story, and all the family drama that is in it. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Ally is a woman mid thirty, single and depressed as she still lives over a garage. She is fairly successful at work, but a wreck privately, when her18-year-old sister just drops a baby on her and leaves. She has no clue and asks the neighbor’s 11-year old to help her with the baby. From there a crazy life begins, not only does she have to take care of the baby, but she also tries to hide it from her landlord, a successful single dad, and father of said 11-year-old…
Crazy and funny and hugely entertaining, it is a great book to read.

Ally is one heck of a hot mess but she can be as she has no responsibilities, she goes to work does a great job, pays her bills and enjoys herself and a drink or two but now she is stuck with her young sisters baby to look after for “a few days” and has no clue what to do which leads to absolute hilarity as she struggles to work out what to do with a baby, keep the baby hidden from her landlord, try and find her sister, work and try and decide what the hell is going on with her feelings. But the book isn’t all laughs we learn more about Omar her landlord and single father as well as the reasons behind why Ally is the way she is so there is some sadness, heartbreak, secrets revealed and heart warming moments. You get wrapped up in the book right from the get go and once you get to the end you wish it lasted longer.
