“Flirty, dirty and downright irresistible! Breezie Bennett’s books sizzle like a steamy Florida night!” — Kresley Cole, #1 New York Times Bestselling AuthorSlow Ride – South Florida Riders Book 2A sexy running back who needs a nanny for his little boy. A waitress trying to hide from her past. Could she be the one to trust with his most precious possession? Could he be the man who makes her … one to trust with his most precious possession? Could he be the man who makes her believe in love again? Only if they can take down their walls with the same ease that they take off their clothes. But when this single dad finds out the truth about his charming nanny, their sexy slow ride might come to a crashing halt.
Elliot:
My priorities are pretty clear. Take care of my five-year-old son and run that damn ball. But I can’t find a nice, qualified nanny to look after him during the season. So when I help out a dazzling blond with her flat tire and she connects with my kid, hiring her to watch Asher seems like a brilliant move.
It’s purely coincidental that Jessica Randall happens to be smoking hot, tons of fun, and every time she puts Asher to bed, I want her to get in mine. But that’s off the table, because Asher adores her, and she’s the first person to bring my boy out of his shell.
Sleeping with Jessica would be a huge mistake, and falling in love is an even bigger risk. But that just might be a risk worth taking.
Jessica:
Elliot Danes is an NFL star dripping with all the wealth and flash I ran away from when I was a teenager. Since then, I’ve lived a simple life, as far away from that world as possible. But a simple life means money problems, and a job as a rich guy’s nanny would solve all of mine.
His kid’s a doll, the job’s a breeze, and the income is going to help the only person I love. But the sweet and sexy single dad is one big temptation that I can’t resist. So when steamy sex turns into something serious, I’ve got real problems…
I’m falling in love with Elliot, and I’m crazy about his son, but the truth about my past could break both their hearts.

A nice read. Great characters. Both sweet and lovely. They have chemistry. But it’s not flaming hot. It’s a loving one. An great easy read.
This book was everything, sexy, sweet and funny with a little drama. Elliot is my favorite. He is the perfect book boyfriend. Great book.
Slow Ride is the second book in the South Florida Riders series from Breezie Bennett, and I have to say I loved it even more than the first book. Seriously, sexy single dad football player who will do anything for his son?!?! I’m all in!!!
I wanted Elliot’s story from the moment we met him in Wild Ride. I love he always puts his son Asher at the top of his priority list. Elliot is super protective of his son and needs just the right person to be a live in nanny after his former one moves away to be closer to her own grandchildren. As Asher is super shy and doesn’t warm up to strangers very quickly, Elliot was shocked at how fast he connected with Jessica Randall when they pull over to help her with a flat tire. and offers her a job as his son’s nanny on the spot.
Jessica is such a strong, independent, and loving woman. She has been on her own since she was 16, with the exception of Maria, who took her in, and is the only person who knows about Jessica’s past. Jessica and Maria have become their own little family, and Jessica will do anything to help take care of Maria, even become a nanny so she can afford all the medical bills.
I had mad love for Jessica and how she seemed to just got Asher pretty much from the moment they met. Yes there was major chemistry between Jessica and Elliot, but as she was hired to take care of Asher, their time together was so sweet. Asher was such an important part of this story, and I absolutely fell in love with this little boy right along with Jessica.
Elliot and Jessica had a mutual attraction from the very beginning, and I loved they took their time before acting on their attraction. I won’t lie, I had to laugh out loud at a couple of the times they were interrupted along the way, as it is was so spot on with a young child and just life in general. I love them together so very much. Their chemistry was off the charts hot and yet there were so many tender moments along the way as well. All the happy sighs from me.
Slow Ride was a fun, sexy, and emotional read. I highly recommend Slow Ride to everyone! While this is only the second book from Breezie Bennett, she is the read deal and absolutely is one of my auto-buy authors.

*I received an ARC from Breezie Bennett for my honest review*. This is the second book in the Wild Ride series featuring single Dad Elliot & his adorable son Asher. Elliot needs a new nanny & hires Jessica. Elliot & Jessica have instant chemistry from the beginning & try to fight their attraction. You will fall in love with all three of them & rescue dog Trash too! This book is an entertaining, funny, quick enjoyable read with all the feels. I loved the story, the characters including the supporting characters including Leo from the first book. I highly recommend this book & Leo’s book, you won’t be disappointed!!
Eric Dane, South Florida Rider running back and single father is ready to start the new football season but it has been difficult to find the right nanny for 5 yrs. old Asher. He is looking for a person who will teach his son real life lessons while making him overcome his shyness. As the only single dad in his team he feels like he is living and maybe missing some milestones of his own but it all changes one evening while driving toward work. A young woman was changing a flat tire and he stopped to help her, also hoping to start those life lessons for his son. For their surprise, Jessica totally managed to do the task on her own while breaking some of the little boy reserve and then and there a job offer is handed to her, no questions asked.
Jessica Randall works in a diner near the Fort Lauderdale area, she is a transplant from New Hampshire and has the coolest of roommates, Maria, owner of the diner and COPD patient. She helped Jessie when she moved to FL, offered a job and the feisty/nonsense kind of friendship/mentorship she needed. Unfortunately, COPD is serious business and she needed more medical care that proved to be $$$. Jessie can’t fathom not having her and accept the nanny job never mind the risk of losing her heart to the father– son duo. And so, the football season begins, young Asher starts kindergarten and Jessie gets on working for those who soon become the center of her life. The romance is magical, Elliot is the perfect gentleman and Jessie shine doing what she does best, bringing the best of others to the surface. She is not perfect, had some issues and inner angst to deal with but with the sound advice of her Mami, she will be able to tackle her demons.
In this second installment of the SFL Riders, Breezie Bennett goes for the slow burn and all the feelings big time. I fell in love with Elliot and Asher, Elliot and Jessie, the Riders, Maria and the diner’s crew. I fell head over heals over Asher and his talent show partner (cameos in future books, please?) As the series progresses, FL becomes a character in itself, so glad to see it thru the eyes of a young author who realistic showcase the Floridian experience.
for this one!
ARC was provided, but these are my most sincere thoughts.
I have a new favorite book with Slow Ride! Seriously, who doesn’t love a single dad romance! Elliot’s relationship with little Asher was so adorable. Jessie didn’t stand a chance with the duo. Jessie and Elliot together were on fire!
I loved her first book in the series and had high hopes for this second book. Breezie Bennett has just shown us that she isn’t a one hit wonder and will be around for a very long time. I look forward to seeing where her writing takes us. I totally recommend her as a new and upcoming author.
New author Breezie Bennett has hit her stride with her new book “Slow Ride.” I was hooked by the end of chapter one and was enthralled with the story from there on. Slow Ride is about a professional football player, Elliot, who has a young son he is raising alone. In need of a nanny, he meets Jessica who clicks with his young son, Asher. Jessica has a way about her that brings out the shy Asher that no one else can do, so she is hired. But Jessica has a secret and every time she wants to tell Elliot about her past, something gets in the way. I really liked this book a lot. Breezie has a way of making us care deeply for her characters. I definitely recommend this book and am looking forward to the next book in the series.
This was a great second book in the South Florida Riders series. I really enjoyed Elliot, Jessica, Maria and of course how could you not fall in love with Asher and Trash. The story was great with the developing relationship with not only Elliot and Jessica but Jessica and Asher as well. I liked how Jessica helped Asher gain more confidence and come out of his shell. I have to say I wasn’t a fan when Jessica’s parents made their appearance, but I do think in the end that it’s time they all put the past where it belongs and start anew. This was a really good story and I enjoyed not only the talent show and all the moments in between, but the way this book ended was perfect. My favorite line from this book was, ‘Enjoy every second with all your awesome families and keep love as a priority in your life, no matter what’. Can’t wait to read what Breezie Bennett has for us next.
Loved the instant connections with all three characters. The chemistry between Elliot and Jesse is combustible! Feel good romance with such tender moments. Once I started this story, I just had to finish it to the end. Way to go! Definitely recommend this to my friends.
Elliot and Jessica’s love story in Slow Ride by Breezie Bennett, book two in her South Florida Riders series, was a wonderful, sexy, and enjoyable tale. Take one hot and sexy running back in need of a nanny and give him a waitress who was trying to hide from her past. Elliot might be a rich, sexy, single dad, but his main priority was his five-year old son, Asher. Elliot needed someone who could help shy Asher come out of his shell and who treat him as a normal kid; no rich, spoiled brats please. Encountering Jessica on the side of the road with a flat tire was Elliot’s biggest piece of luck. Plus, Asher connected with her immediately, something he never did before. Offering the nanny job to Jessica was the best time to happen to either of them. Except, no matter how hot and sexy Elliot found Jessica to be, he could not sleep with her. Jessica has lived a simple life since she ran away from her wealthy family at age sixteen which meant she now had money problems; taking this nanny job could solve Jessica’s problems. Jessica never expected to be tempted by Elliot, and worried that the truth about her past would break everyone’s heart. Overall, Jessica was amazing with Asher and Elliot could have been “Dad of the Year” with the way he was raising Asher.
I loved the interaction between Elliot and Jessica’s as they spent time with each other. The sparks were flying as their shared chemistry defined their attraction. Neither Elliot nor Jessica could resist the temptation in front of them. Once these two start sleeping together, their steamy sex turns into something more serious, feelings of love, scaring both of them. These feeling might just be worth the risk, at least until Elliot learns Jessica’s secret. When he learns the truth about his charming nanny’s secrets, Elliot intends to stop their sexy, slow ride. Elliot then needs to decide if this is the lesson he wants to teach his son about life, family, and love.
Ms. Bennett wrote a fun, flirty, sexy sports rom-com that is not to be missed. She provided a tale rich with emotions, sexual chemistry, humor, wonderful dialogue, and endearing characters giving Elliot and Jessica a chance to discover they were truly each other’s soul mate and that they were meant to have a future together. I highly recommend Slow Ride to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I am liking how the single guys on the team are finding their HEA even if they don’t know they are looking for something permanent. Elliot is all about his son and football. No time for anything else. In a chance meeting, he meets Jessica. When his overly shy son takes an instant liking to Jessica, he knows she has to be Asher’s new nanny. Even if he is attracted to her, Asher comes first. As they try not to act on the attraction, they become closer. But, Jessica has a secret that could tear them apart.
Cute kid+sexy single dad+fiesty heroine=touchdown! The second book in the South Florida Riders series is even better than the first. Add in a precious rescue dog, and we have a winner.
Elliott and Jessie have incredible
chemistry but she’s his new Nanny and off limits. Asher, his 5 year old son adores her.
The story is warm and feels so personal.
Elliott really is the nicest guy on the team. Jessie is down to Earth, loving and kind. The secondary characters are all delightful. I strongly recommend this book and I loved it.
ARC for honest review
I love sport romance stories. Good boys, bad boys, single dads. And let me tell you, Breezie Bennett is hitting it out of the park in her books.
Slow Ride is the second ARC book I received. Single dad Elliott is looking for a full time nanny after his older nanny retired. Football season is coming up. Jessie kind of falls into his lap. Life has pushed her down a few times but she is a strong woman and doing what needs to keep her head up. With his offer to be his son’s nanny, she could not pass up the money he was going to be paying her.
But will secrets that are being kept doom this relationship before it has a chance to really get off the ground?
Well pick up this book and find out!
I never knew how sexy the single-dad troupe could be. Elliott Danes is one hot, sexy, swoon-worthy dad and NFL running back in Breezie Bennett’s second novel, Slow Ride. Elliott has a 5yr old son, Asher. Asher is the sweetest and shyest little man. By chance Elliott and Asher meet Jessica while she is having car trouble. Amazingly, Jessica makes a connection with Asher that no one else has. Elliott recognizes that he must capitalize on that connection, so he hires Jessica to be Asher’s nanny. The connection between Jessica and Asher is super sweet. Asher and Trash(his rescue dog) just completely ran away with my heart. Jessica keeps some important information from Elliott. Knowing she is on borrowed time, will Jessica ever tell Elliott the truth? Will Elliott and Jessica be able to resist their insane attraction to each other or will Jessica’s lies be a deal breaker? This story is amazingly sweet, HOT between the sheets, with super characters who will leave you laughing, fanning your face, and just maybe a few tears. You don’t have to love football to enjoy this awesome story of a single-dad with a heart-of-gold. Will Elliott finally be able to give his son the one-thing he wants most, a family? Pro-athetes….hot stuff!! Highly recommend this Wild Ride by Breezie Bennett. 5 stars*****
Elliot Danes is a football player with the South Florida Riders and also is the single dad of a 5-year-old little boy. Trying to balance his son and his job leaves Elliot a bit stressed. When Asher’s nanny leaves to go be with her grandchildren Elliot desperately tries to find a new nanny that would be perfect for his very shy little son. After meeting Jessica Randall, Elliot thinks he has found the right person for the job.
I’m a sucker for a single dad with a sweet little boy and this one didn’t disappoint. Slow Ride is the second in this series by a new author whose mother’s books I’ve read for years and have thoroughly loved. After reading Wild Ride and now Slow Ride I do believe this young author has this writing thing down pat. She has done a great job with book two as the plot is strong, and the author has written a hero and heroine who are well balanced; there is lot of heat, laughter and fun throughout this entire story. The secondary characters of Elliot’s teammates, Chase and Leo, and Maria, Jessica’s elderly roommate are such hoot and add such fun to the story. I loved going on the journey with Elliot and Jessica as they get their HEA. I look forward to book three in this series!
ARC for honest review with no compensation
Slow Ride is book 2 in the series South Florida Riders by new up and coming author Breezie Bennett and boy does she know how you draw you in from the first page…until the last!
Elliot Danes, NFL running back, millionaire, single dad of a five year old, needs a nanny for his son before football season starts, when he stops to help a lady with a flat tire his son Asher seems to connect with her. This just doesn’t happen with Asher so he offers her the job of being his son’s nanny..
Jessica Randall has known the life of wealth and all it entails but she left that life behind and now leads a much simpler life. When this hot, sexy man stops to help her change her flat tire sparks fly…not only with the dad but his son too. When he offers her a job as his son’s nanny she refuses but then reconsiders for personal reasons…but she is determined to just be the nanny, keep her secrets and stay out of his bed…hopefully…
What happens next will keep you turning the pages, waiting for the shoe to drop on the secrets, friends become lovers and to see if love really does conquer all or is it conditional??
Breezie Bennett is an exciting new author who has written the second book in her South Florida Riders Series, “Slow Ride.” We met Elliott in her debut novel and I immediately had a soft spot for the hunky, single father and I wondered what lucky woman would catch his eye and warm his heart. Elliott is such a great father and his son is his pride and joy. I love how Elliott uses “life lessons” to teach Asher about the world because it shows how compassionate and down to earth he is. He doesn’t let fame and fortune cloud his judgement.
“Slow Ride” is a sweet and romantic story about finding the one person who will make your family complete. Who knew that stopping to help someone in distress would change your life forever? Elliott was immediately attracted to Jessica, and so was his painfully shy son, Asher. He was amazed how quickly her beautiful smile and soft voice, made his son open up to her. She radiated kindness and love towards Asher, and he was in awe of her and not afraid. Elliott knew when he saw the smile on his son’s face that Jessica was the answer to his prayers. She was gentle and very nurturing, and he knew without a doubt, that he needed her in their lives.
This is the second in Ms. Bennett’s South Florida Riders series. However, it completely stands alone.
Elliot Danes is the most popular Rider. He is “the dad”, a single parent, and everyone just loves how devoted he is to his 5-year-old son. The running back is important to the Rider’s game, but he is adamant that his son comes before his career. Then his nanny, an older woman, plans to quit and go back home to be with family. He needs a nanny immediately. The problem is that Asher is painfully shy and won’t interact with any of the prospective nannies he brings in.
Then they run into Jessica changing a tire on the side of the road. She talks to Asher and he talks back. Elliot immediately wants to hire her. It has to be better than a waitressing job, right?
Unfortunately Jessica grew up rich and rejected that lifestyle when her parents rejected her. However, she needs the money so she decides to try. She falls in love with Asher. Asher and Trash are so cute! Asher does so well with her encouragement.
The characters seem real, their motivations are clear, and Ms. Bennett obviously understands children as well as adult behavior. This is a fun book! I recommend it.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader copy of this book.
Breezie Bennett has once again proved that she is an AMAZING storyteller! I had the privilege of reading an ARC of Slow Ride by Breezie Bennett for an honest review. I can honestly say that Slow Ride is an extremely sexy and sentimental rom-com. I could not put it down, it was a true page turner, and I loved every minute of it. Slow Ride is the second book in the South Florida Riders series. I love the series, the characters, and the setting! It was an outstanding story. Slow Ride is the story of Elliott Danes, running back for the South Florida Riders and single parent of Asher, his five year-old son and Jessica Randall, a waitress who is hiding her past. Elliott is a wonderful single dad, he always puts Asher’s needs and welfare before his own needs and desires. Elliott does not date much, because he does not want random women parading around Asher. Elliott and Jessica meet accidentally on the side of the road, where Jessica’s car has a flat tire. Elliott and Asher get out of the car so that Elliott can help Jessica change her tire, but Jessie does not need his help. Jessie does enlist the help of Asher, and Elliott is surprised how his normally shy show relates to Jessie. Elliott is immediately smitten with Jessie and her sarcastic mouth. Elliott surprisingly offers Jessie the job as Asher’s nanny since his last nanny has retired and the football season is about to start. Jessie does not immediately accept the job. After she eventually accepts the job, she and Asher get along wonderfully, I love the interaction between the two of them. Jessie has lied to Elliot about an important aspect of her life, as she and Elliott become romantically involved, Jessie knows that she needs to tell him the truth, at the risk of losing her job and her lover. With a plot twist you knew was coming, Elliott discovers her lie and asks Jessie to leave without giving her a chance to explain the circumstances. Once again this proves to Jessie, that all love is conditional. From the mouths of babes, Elliott realizes the error in his ways with some great advice from Asher. Love the happily ever that Elliott and Jessie share. Slow Ride is filled with poignant and bittersweet moments.
