Tyler is a firefighter and while putting out a fire at the Wrenwood Animal Shelter he meets Jess and wins her heart when he saves a litter of kittens. This is a short, steamy, insta love story with likable characters, a misunderstanding, drama, and a great ending.
A really good read. I liked the two characters but i was a little sad when Jess jumped to massive conclusions about Ty plus there was no communication at all. Jess has to watch the shelter she works at go up in flames. A hot fireman goes and rescues a bundle of kittens. Ty like Jess and Jess likes her. What was strange to me was the fact that they knew each other in high school and they were each others firsts BUT and a big but here They didn’t remember each other and surely Jess would of know Ty’s proper first name instead of sticking her foot in her mouth and breaking up with him. seemed odd to me.
He had her heart when he saved the kittens, but will he be able to keep it

But things are not long for having a simple relationship when others get involved and their hearts ignite for each other.

This is Jess & Tyler’s story.
Jess has a rescue shelter that catches on fire and Tyler is the firefighter that rescues the kittens from destruction.
The book might be called Slow Burn, but the energy is hot and fast in the pages of this book.
This is a short story. Love the characters, explicit moments and the plot is intriguing. I enjoyed reading this story. Hot, hot, hot and I definitely recommend it.

Creating an Inferno
It’s a good thing that Ty’s a fireman because these two sure do create an inferno! They meet under terrible circumstances as the animal shelter that Jess and Rhonda run goes up in flames. Don’t worry. No animals were injured in the making of this book. Although, the same can’t be said for the hearts of Jess and Ty.
I love how they challenge each other, often in naughty, fun ways. They really do like open air adventures which keep things enticing and very spicy. LOL!
Do make sure to have a tissue or two handy. These two broke my heart and each others when they let a misunderstanding get in the way. Things get crazy before they get better but the ending is sweet and perfect for them.

‘Slow Burn’ by Alexis Adaire is a well developed story with interesting characters, an intriguing plot, and tells the story of Jessica (Jess) Hensen and Tyler Jackson. Jess works at the Wrenwood Animal Shelter as a co-manger. Tyler is a firefighter for the city and responds to a call at the shelter. Jess watches as Tyler goes into the burning building to save some kittens. She can’t tell if it is his looks or courage she likes better. Jess bakes a pie as a thank you and delivers it to Tyler’s house. Tyler is quite taken with Jess and they decide to go out. Things are progressing well when Jess’s brother, Lyle, gives her some information about Tyler that causes her to break up with him.
Ms. Adaire has written an engaging story with likable characters. The book has laughs, action, misunderstandings, drama, trust issues, passion, and heart. I really enjoyed this read and recommend it to anyone who enjoys a sizzling story.

Ah, I really liked this; it was a good old-fashioned meet and feel instantly attracted to one another story. There have been too many ‘bad boy’ books in this genre lately. Don’t get me wrong, I like a bad boy as much as the next woman, but when they are downright nasty, and you can’t understand why they are even sleeping together because they profess to hate one another, then that is where I’ve started drawing the line.
This book, however, is the total opposite of that, and it was a refreshing change. Jess and Ty meet when the animal sanctuary she works at is on fire, and he comes to the rescue as a fireman. It was hot and steamy from the moment they set eyes on one another!
The happy ever after seemed to come too soon, though, so I just knew there was going to be some major drama that they would have to overcome. I just didn’t expect it to be what it was. The whole story was very well played out.
I liked the tentativeness between them while they were trying to sort out their feelings for one another after the drama. The chemistry from them, though, was jumping off the page, so you knew you were going to get the happy ever after you were craving.
Great ending, too, not too cliched. So, overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this, and it was a solid five-star read!
The author has given us a wonderful story that pulls us into the lives of Ty and Jess and does not let go. When they meet at the scene of a fire, they have an instant connection. However, the more time they spend together, the more the past tries to rear its ugly head. Will secrets kept destroy their chance at happiness?

Even though this book was originally published four years ago, this is the first time I have read it and I thought that it was really good. I really liked Jessica and Tyler together. The connection and chemistry was great. Jess and Tyler meet by chance and that is all that it take for this two to get started. However, Tyler’s past comes back to haunts him and these two have to work at getting their HEA. I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it and Ms. Alexis as a wonderful author.

This was a small town romance. The characters were realistic. The story was funny, sad and steamy.
Jessica Hensen co-manages the Wrenwood Animal Shelter. When a fire devastates the shelter, she meets a gorgeous firefighter who risks getting injured to save the last kittens during the fire.
Tyler Jackson spent his early childhood in Linville before moving to Kansas with his divorced mother. Back in town as a member of the fire department, he meets a woman he wants to get to know better while fighting a fire. Jess baked pies for the station house and him bringing his pie to his home. She gets an eyeful of Tyler as he plays in his pool with his dog. They go out to dinner, but agree to hook up on their next date. They start a picture perfect relationship until he brother tells her about a possible murder conviction. They break up for a short time but reconcile for their HEA.
