Giana deserves so many more stars for this, I’m completely ruined.
Lust, love and all the angst, rolled in to one filthy talking alpha that is sloth
He completely owns my soul, I absolutely love this book, giana you have done an amazing job of writing him, you can’t now love him.
Not completely sure this is all I want to say but Damn my minds mush, the twist and turns made my head spin and I loved every minute of it
DREAMY’S REVIEW
Giana Darling is seriously an amazing, talented, and inspiring writer! The moment I picked up Sloth, I could NOT put it down! I had to devour it in one sitting, savor each and every well thought-out word she has written, and take in everything that happened!
I can’t ever put into words how utterly perfect Rush Dempsey’s story was from beginning to end! She truly captured him and his sin so perfectly!
His story… omg!!! My heart! OH MY HEART! I can’t even, I truly can’t!
Sloth is something else entirely from what I first was thinking in the beginning! You know when you read a series and the character is just being introduced and you make assumptions about how he is? Then as the series progress, you still have that SAME though process? Only me? Okay!
“I was my prestigious family’s biggest disappointment and eternally appointed black sheep.”
Well, let me tell you that Sloth has had my attention since the start and I heard him loud and clear! Although he truly embodied his sin, there is something there about him that you cannot deny! He’s smart and he cares and he shows up exactly when you need him! And even though he seemingly is like a Sloth, nope, you are wrong… very wrong.
“The why of it was simple. It was the who, how, and when of it that proved the puzzle.”
His mind is a masterpiece! He’s always had an agenda and something to fight for, and I had a feeling about it from the start! He is brilliant and utterly captivating!
How will I even move forward from this?!? How I am to recover from devouring this truly all-consuming story!?!?!
The twist, turns, truths, utter shock, emotion, angst, rawness, steam, and darkness to light has me in a major book hangover!!!
“And I realized with sudden brilliant and tender shock, that I had found that something, against all odds, at St. Augustine’s with a sinner and group of broken saints.”
If you have NOT picked up this series yet, IT IS A MUST! You will be blown away every single time!
Five OMG dreamy stars:
Sloth by Giana Darling is the sixth book in The Elite Seven Series. As you know, several of the books in this series left me a little upset due to the cliff-hangers. It was finally book four, Gluttony, where some of my questions started getting answered. Grab your drink of choice, although, I recommend a stiff drink like whiskey neat for a chat about this book.
Sloth is the story of Rush Dempsey the son of Ward and Magnolia Dempsey. The night before his 18th birthday, Rush listened to an all to common fight between his parents which ended in his mother hysterically running toward a storm-ridden Lake Pontchartrain. Her final words to Rush were “The Elite. Please, Cher, stay away from them.” Determined to make his father and the rest of The Elite pay for the death of his mother, Rush does the one thing that Magnolia begged him not to do…join The Elite. Rush Dempsey is Sloth.
Sloth is, perhaps, the most brilliant of all of The Elite. He seems very laid-back and uncaring but he knows every single detail of the other brother’s lives as well as the lives of their families. I have to be very honest and tell you that I almost did not read this book. This has been a very dark series but the warning at the beginning this book almost had me throwing in the towel. It warned of sex in a church, villainous religious figures, and burning holy objects all of which are sensitive subjects for me. However, I read on and am really glad that I did. Sloth answers so many questions that came up on the previous books. I actually walked away from this book thinking that the series might leave me with a HEA. I will say that the other authors referred to The Elite brothers by the names assigned by The Elite whereas Giana sort of switched back and forth. That was very confusing for me.
I honestly cannot wait for book seven which is due to release very soon. I give Sloth by Giana Darling 4.5 out 5 propellers!
Sloth by Giana Darling is the sixth book in the Elite Seven series and the story just keeps getting better and better!!
We follow Rush, or Sloth, as he sets out to defile a church mouse only to be ensnared in the process. Isabelle, our heroine, is as pure as they come, but she couldn’t resist temptation when Rush set his sights on her.
This book is without a doubt a five star read. I highly, highly recommend Sloth, but make sure you read the first five books first or the overall plot won’t make sense.
I am so invested in this series, I was nearly salavating over Rush ‘Sloth’ Dempsey’s story. He is one hot MF.
When Sloth is awarded his task it was here that he shed the moniker of being lazy, slow and took the bull by the horns and rammed forward full force. He peeled away the layers of the Elite and bought forward a few of the truths that I had been waiting for. Happy dance.
This edition to the series is hands down the darkest, so far. The desecration, brutality and vengeful acts are purely justified and at times left me gobsmacked. I loved every word of it.
So now with this book ending I am chomping at the bit for the final instalment so K &K, you’re up. Do your worst, I’m ready.
4.5 stars for – Sloth – book six in the Elite Seven series by Giana Darling. This book was the ultimate culmination of all the craziness that has been surrounding St. Augustine’s! Not only were 90% of my questions answered they were done in a spectacular way. So many mysteries involving all the members of the Elite have been leading up to these last two books and Giana most certainly delivered when she gave us Sloth.
Archbishop Savoie of St. Augustine’s Cathedral has an innocent, highly devout and sheltered daughter – Isabelle – who serves the congregation of her father’s church because that’s what she was raised to do. She never steps out of line or disobeys her father’s orders or there will be dire consequences.
Rush Dempsey better known as – Sloth – to his Elite brothers is out for vengeance against all those who hurt his loved ones and he doesn’t care who he has to steamroll to get it. When he receives his assignment he never realized he would actually enjoy what he had to do but all it takes is one look at Isabelle Savoie and Rush is rethinking his game plan.
This was one of the best books in the series to date but I highly recommend reading all the books to really have a feel for what is happening in the series prior to this one. There was mystery, intrigue, sex and seduction all wrapped up in the explosive pages of this sixth book in this exciting series. Can’t wait to see how they will end it all with book seven – Greed – next!
Rush Dempsey has stolen my heart! I loved every single thing about Sloth. Giana Darling has created a story that was so satisfying on it’s own and made its mark as an important part of the Elite Seven series as a whole. The storyline was fast paced and hooked me from the very beginning. The characters were perfect. I loved seeing Isabelle find her strength and Sloth learn to love. I can’t wait for the last book in this series!
I love this series so much!!!! So many things happening and your brain just gets blown each time. This is my first book from this author and I’m loving the writing style.
Rush is pure sin wrapped in a male body. I’m loving the tech-nerdy man and his beautiful soul. I know he seems like a complete freak in each of the books but in here you get the real Rush and I fell hard for him. The way he cared for his mother, the horrible story about her life, it just made my soul cry for him. The passion you can feel burning off him speaks to me and I couldn’t help but beg for more of him! The way he speaks to Isabella and cares for her. Isabella isn’t like I thought she would be at all and honestly it was a bit unnerving that she would do the things she did so easily and without thought. I get it and completely understand her reasoning but it just seemed like a flip was switched and BAM her mind was changed. I know woman do this sort of stuff a lot but it didn’t seem plausible to me. (And yes I know this is all fictional but I need some believability to actually enjoy it).
Love love love this series and this book hardcore!! I only took off a star because I felt like something was missing throughout the book. Something didn’t feel finished about Rush and Isabella’s story. Great writing and loved most of it!! It just felt like it could’ve used more to it. Most of it just seemed repeated from the other stories but not much extra like they did.
Oh wow, this has been one of the craziest , most intriguing series Ive read. Just when I thought things couldn’t get anymore crazy, they do! I’m super excited and thrilled with all the events that happened in this book. It just got way more interesting and can’t wait for the conclusion to this epic brotherhood!
This series has been a roller coaster of events, of feels and tons of questions. But as we edge closer to the end things finally pickup and we get more questions answered all while taking a turn.
In sloth’s book, thats just that we get. Lots of answers mixed with questions. From the very start Sloth was on of those characters that intrigued me. I know she was up to something just never image what he truly was behind. I enjoyed this book, as well as I have the whole series but Sloth story really blew me away and got me all excited with endless possibilities for the series. Truly this a series to reread a few times to fully enjoy over and over!
This was goooood!
This entire series is just awesome and should be read as soon as you can. Giana Darling’s writing was fantastic, and all of the authors have all done a great job of building the series.
I loved the story and highly recommend the book.
5+Stars
Sloth was another addictive and mind-blowing addition to the Elite Seven series. This installment was on point with what was promised from the series – the darkness, the sins, the deceit, the mind games, the mystery, the justice and the vengeance. Rush story had a perfect balanced between his romance with Isabelle and the righteous path that the Elite brothers were heading.
Up until now, Rush was the quiet one lurking behind the background who everyone oversaw and underestimated; however, he was smart, patient, and calculated. I was captivated by his protectiveness and loyalty to the people who he loved. Rush and Isabelle lived in opposite world and should never have met each other, but somehow they fit together perfectly. They understood each other and built each other up. I loved seeing the personal growth that they had and how they transformed and became a stronger and better version of themselves.
The mystery and secrets behind the ancient Elite Seven society slowly unraveled. The shocking revelations, twists and turns were enthralling. The boys were banded stronger together and the brotherhood that they formed was unbeatable. They understand and accepted that that they are all flawed and had sinned, but they decided to be better and not to remake their mistakes.
I’m really impressed with the last two installments in the series. The plot weaved seamlessly with the whole backstory from previous books. The tone and essence of the stories were exactly right. I cannot believe that they were written by two different authors. We have one last book left and I have really high hopes for Greed; hopefully he will not disappoint.
Note: The Elite Seven series is a collaboration of work from seven different authors. The series has a continuing backstory of seven individuals’ initiation to a secretive society. Therefore, it must be read in order.

I’ll be honest: this book fell way short of my hopes for where the series would be six books in. This is the second to the last book and I was hoping to get more answers as to the series arc concerning the mysterious Elite; instead, I ended up rather confused and somewhat disappointed. Rush was an enigma in the first five books, and while he had a pretty interesting back story, the whole insta-everything regarding his relationship with Isabelle took away the usual feeling of tension and anticipation the earlier books had. I also happen to have my own thoughts about a Catholic archbishop openly having a daughter–which isn’t allowed in the Church considering an archbishop is one of the highest ranks in the clergy and priests in general are supposed to be celibate and remain single. I get the whole the blasphemous Rush being the antithesis of the pious Isabelle and how they end up coming together in spite of that, but I struggled with this book more than the others, which is why I ended up giving Sloth three stars.
I always look forward to a Giana Darling book, and this series had me on the edge of my seat waiting to find out what happens next. What was initially supposed to be the last book in the series is now the sixth book.
Rush Dempsey is a lurker. He’s always in the background, smoking a joint, playing the carefree, don’t give a damn about anything sort of guy. But there’s something beneath the surface of that beautiful boy. Something volatile, and demanding, that only comes out with the lucky girl.
And Isabelle is one hell of a lucky girl.
Giana always puts so much romance in her books, no matter what they’re about, and Sloth was no different. Rush is romantic, more so than any of the other guys in this series. He was a welcome change from the rest of the boys, and I really enjoyed him as a character.
Isabelle was his perfect counterpart- the shy churchmouse, who becomes the bane of Rush’s existence.
Some parts of this series were a but messy, but I really want to see it end with a resolution for every character. We’ve come too far to be disappointed. Although the ending was one reader’s already knew about if they’ve read the previous books, I still can’t wait to read Greed’s book.
This is the first book I have read by Giana Darling. Through out the series Sloth/Rush has intrigued me. After finally having read his story he is my new favorite of the brothers. There is so much more to him than what you glimpse in the other books. He is out to end the Elite. He blames them and his dad for his mother’s death, which had been ruled as a suicide. His Holy Virtue, Isabelle, has spent her life under her father’s abusive thumb. Her father, also a member of the Elite, has used his position in the church, in the society, and as her father to basically rule her life with an iron fist.
When Rush and Isabelle come together, sparks fly. She helps him find religion, he helps her learn to live life out of the shadows. Together they uncover some big secrets the Elite has kept hidden. These two are so amazing together. Two parts of one whole.

Coming ever closer to end of the Elite series with the sixth book, Sloth, by Giana Darling, blew me away!!! Holy smokes this series something else. It still amazes me that each book is written by a different author and that from book one, the story flows and connects everything so seamlessly. I truly applaud them all!!.
Giana Darling has outdone herself. She begins the wrap-up and writes Sloth’s side of the story. This book is not an easy read. There are situations that may cause triggers or that some may find unacceptable.
What I love about Sloth is that what I thought was going to happen, didn’t. What I presumed was a sloth, wasn’t. Taking things a step further made this book outstanding.
The writing is so amazing that you will pull an all-nighter. It pulls you right in and doesn’t let you go until you turn the last page.
Sloth, aka Rush Dempsey, just does not care about anyone or anything. He does his own thing, shows up when he is needed by his brothers and stands in the background. But now he is handed his task and he doesn’t care. He expects to pull his task off immediately but this comes to a stop when Isabelle is before him. And the wild and crazy ride picks up.
Prove that I’m worth the family name?
I’ll do it all.
And I’ll do it so well, no one will know what’s coming.
People are so quick to underestimate the wicked and lazy.

Sloth may be my new favorite sin…well Rush anyway. This series has hooked me from the start but this newest addition brings it to a whole new level. And that ending…what the mother eff?!?!
Rush was brought into The Elite Seven as Sloth and based on this book, Rush left that definition behind as soon as he met his task.
What was supposed to be an easy task that would allow him to move towards the answers he seeks, becomes a bigger game than anticipated.
I absolutely loved everything about Rush; from his cleverness, sweetness and ruthlessness; this has quickly become one of my favorites of this series.
You do have to read them in order so get started now so you are ready for end!!
Rush Dempsey comes across as lazy, hence the nickname Sloth, uncaring and sinful. He’s one of those things to be sure. The other 2, not so much. He disguises his deep need for answers about his mother’s death by looking like a rich sinner who wants for, and cares for, nothing. But then he sees a timid church mouse, Isabella, and he’s instantly entranced. He wants her and he will have her, innocent soul and all. He wants to corrupt her. He wants to keep his father from having her. But mostly, he just wants her.
“She was holding rosary beads the way I imagined her holding my cock, firm grip, but fingers reverent and deliberate.”
But he’s got other things going on his life, like trying to infiltrate The Elite Seven, find the answers about his mother, and then, to take the Elite down for what they’ve done – to his brothers, to him, to his woman. Will he and the rest of his brothers succeed at the mission?
I was rooting for them the whole time. Rooting for Sloth and his brothers, and for Rush and Isabella. This one is probably the most “romantic” of the series so far, and Sloth truly surprised me in how hard he fell for timid (not so much) little Isabella, and how much he showed that.
But I said it before, and I’ll say it again – I’m not reading this series for the romance. The main thing I’ve been interested in is the whole secret society, the mystery behind it all, and this story furthered all that. The ending especially, gave me great hope that things are finally falling into place, that when Greed comes next, it will truly give the resolution this series has been heading toward. But…although I’m not reading this series for the romance, I did truly appreciate the relationship, the love, between Rush and Isabella. I like how she was the light to his dark, how he was her sin, and how well they complemented each other.
“It’s you that’ll bring the silk and sunshine,” I said as I flicked my tongue over the seam of her lips. “I’ll bring the heat.”
I literally have no words. This book!!!!!! What a ride. I LOVED Rush! So many things were cleared up in this book but you were left with some questions and the build up is perfection!
If I could rate this 10 stars I would
If you follow my blog, it’s no secret that I am a huge fan of Giana Darling. I freaking FLOVE everything she’s written, so I knew I would love Sloth. And I wasn’t wrong, I totally loved Sloth. The Elite Seven Books have been one outstanding read after another and have been some of my most anticipated books this year. It’s ridiculous, but I sync my kindle several times each day when I am waiting for the next blogger’s copy to hit my kindle. Sloth is Book six in The Elite Seven Series and was absolutely a stunning story. Before I get into my review for the book, please note these books are in fact a series of books written by different authors with stories that overlap but the books must be read in order.
Reading Order for The Elite Seven Series:
Lust (The Elite Seven, #1) by Ker Dukey
Pride (The Elite Seven, #2) by J.D. Hollyfield
Wrath (The Elite Seven, #3) by Claire C. Riley
Envy (The Elite Seven, #4) by M.N. Forgy
Gluttony (The Elite Seven, #5) by K Webster
Sloth (The Elite Seven, #6) by Giana Darling
Greed (The Elite Seven, #7) by Ker Dukey and K Webster
Without question, Sloth was one of my most anticipated books for May since I’m an avid—maybe even rabid?! —Giana Darling reader. I was in no way disappointed with the sixth book in the series. Sloth was dark, sexxxxxy, and beautifully written. Giana’s a talented writer who never fails to capture my attention. Sloth is a quick read that will suck you in and you’ll be so engrossed in the story you’ll have finished it before you know it. The storyline is well developed. I imagine the weaving of storylines within a series written by multiple authors would be extremely challenging. Yet Giana Darling deserves praise for the skill she showed in integrating so many stories and plotlines seamlessly.
Excellent writing, an extremely entertaining storyline, and unforgettable characters made reading Sloth a true pleasure. This dark romance is written in dual POV, and Rush and Isabelle shy away from nothing! They are complete opposites that complement one another as only possible in a romance. Rush commands attention, and while I expected him to be withdrawn, he’s actually very open and expressive with his lady. Isabelle is the sheltered, obedient church mouse who much like a caterpillar emerges as a butterfly when she’s finally out from under her father’s thumb. Giana Darling writes seXXXy as hell romance. Be prepared—have your spouses on standby or your batteries charged because a cold shower isn’t going to do the job after reading something she’s written. Sloth, while a shorter read then her full-length novels, is a perfect example of how Giana amplifies the heat in her stories by writing characters with intense chemistry.
Sloth, and the rest of The Elite Seven Series, take readers on a journey unlike any other. You should prepare for heartache and expect the unexpected. They are considered dark romance—although I don’t find them particularly dark—and each story varies with its degree of angst. If you follow my reviews, you know that I am an angst junkie, and Sloth wasn’t as angsty as I expected. Yet if I had to choose a favorite, I would have to choose Sloth. This is an extremely hard call for me because these books have been fabulous!!! One-Click The Elite Seven books now and get hooked on them like so many others… You’ll thank me!!
Quotes:
It didn’t shock me that I’d been her harbinger of death. I was a faithless soul with blasphemous thoughts and a sacrilegious goal. I was honestly surprised I hadn’t burst into flames the moment I’d crossed the threshold of St. Augustine’s to scope out my virginal little victim.
He didn’t know that I was smart and capable, that my lack of fashion and the softness of my expressions didn’t mean I was meek. It meant I was a lion dressed as a lamb.
Maybe it was the man leading me down the path, smiling at me through the darkness like a Satan leading me into the bowls of hell. Only, the devil wasn’t horns and talons, brimstone and ash. He was golden and gorgeous, sinning and sex. And I was his latest victim.
He was a gorgeous sinner, a siren of fault and virtue who sang to something inside my heart that yearned for that duality. He wasn’t all bad and I wasn’t all good. We could be both, maybe even together.
I’d unfairly judged him because my father’s God had told me there were only two types of people; sinners and saints. Rush was both and neither.
Sloth and Isabella is the 6th book in this series. And this book definitely was a rollercoaster ride . Great chemistry between these characters was steamy I loved every moment of reading this book. I voluntarily review this book for my honest opinion
