Not only does VC leader, Sloan Murphy, have to keep the peace between the human and vampire race, but he also wrangles VC Warriors in his spare time. It’s a job that could drive a saint insane, and Sloan is no saint, but insane he may be. While his Warriors find mates, he swears he will not follow in their footsteps. Becky Spencer, his new secretary who he reluctantly employs, is set to threaten … to threaten every stoic promise he’s made. With an instant attraction that is hard to deny, she fits into his world with confident ease.
Even though Becky has sworn off men after her nasty divorce, she can’t help the desire the sexy and serious Sloan Murphy stirs in her. It isn’t until she sees how devoted he is to his job and the Warriors under his command, that her lusty feelings turn into more. Working in close quarters, they both fight the pull that grows with each passing minute.
Who will win, the secretary, the Warrior, or an attraction that just won’t go away?

Falling for the staff
One of my favorite pair of couples live between the pages of this book. The strong alpha male who wears the mantle of leadership and the gentle woman with a backbone of steal who was done wrong and yet overcome. The author really knows how to bring the emotions into her stories and keeps the excitement and danger coming moving the book along at a fast intense pace. I love this book and can’t wait to read what happens with Blaze and Katrina.
Another great book in this really good series. It’s about time Sloan found his mate and she’s just what he needs. With vampire haters rising up the Warriors need all the help they can get. This book leaves us waiting on Blaze
Sloan gave me the feels Becky was definitely made for Sloan she’s tough sassy loving big hearted and she doesn’t put up with Sloans crap she brought him to his knees just by being herself. It was a great read ive loved this series so much o highly recommend this series.

I loved this story. I just wished there would’ve been more lead up like with some of the other Warriors and their mates, take Jax and Caroline for example they were introduced to us well in advance to their book and had many interactions between then as Jax needed to drop his walls whereas Becky was only just introduced shortly before the start of this book and her and Sloan seemed to click pretty much straight away apart from him not wanting/needed a secretary. I’m hoping we get more of Sloan and Becky in the final books as they deserve more. Sloan has the responsibility of 10 men and dealing with his warriors doesn’t help but his warriors are his family and you can love your family but want to k*ll them most the time because you’ve had enough of the sh*t they do, and the amount of years having to deal with them it would just compound lol. I loved seeing a softer side of Sloan yes, he’s still an a*sehole in his own words but with Becky he allows himself to care. I loved how much Becky fit in with their family and can give Sid and Jared sh*t when they dish it out and it was funny she first started and Sloan was trying to fire her since he doesn’t want/need a secretary and they’re hashing it out and there’s a pounding on the door she opens it and tells Sid that Sloan’s closed so came back when he’s open and slams the door in his face see what I mean she doesn’t care that she was annoying the warriors.
There was a group going after the VC Warriors bombing their training facilities as they didn’t want more Warriors to be trained and the warriors found out who was responsible for them after they’d caught some of his men and Adam read them and got Evan Nico’s name from all 7 of them which happened to be the new DA. Sloan and Becky met him at the gala with the mayor and then after Katrina and Blaze had a run in with a group of drunks and Blaze kicked the guy as they were going by as he’d kicked Katrina in the head so Evan Nico and a couple of corrupt police officers came to their compound and tried to get Blaze arrested but Sloan sure showed him when Blaze signed on again with the VC Warriors and the contract was dated a month prior so Evan Nico didn’t have a leg to stand on and he was shouting threats as he was escorted out of their compound and saying that he’ll see Sloan and Becky again. This wasn’t resolved in this book since Katina was beaten up really badly with a note WHO WILL BE NEXT? THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING which is obviously Evan Nico so it’ll carry into Blaze in Katrina’s book since I’m hoping seeing Katrina hurt so badly finally allows him to drop his walls a realises how much he cares for her but I don’t think it’ll be that easy as he doesn’t trust easily after whatever he’s been through and since he was an ex-VC Warrior so I think his supposed brothers did something really bad so I’m really looking forward to their book as I think it’ll be an inferno lol. I’d definitely recommend this book, series and author.
