This is not my first book by this author, but my favorite. The story was engaging and well developed. The characters made the story realistic. I read it in one sitting, it was fast paced. I can’t wait to see if there will be another book in this series. I highly recommend this book.
This is the 1st book I’ve read written by Nancy George; she has done a great job at writing a good book; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

One steamy night on the way to starting over…………..
The story of Sloan was heartbreaking but also uplifting. She is a woman who has a loveless marriage to Wyatt when he commits suicide. But he has kept secrets that will cause her even more trouble now that he is gone. She moves to Birch Harbor to start over in the the house she inherited from her aunt. While on her way there she has one steamy night with a stranger named Blake. Starting over in Birch Harbor entails getting a job and this leads to her encountering Blake again, which she was not prepared for in any way. But for Sloan Birch Harbor is about being able to build a lovely and fulfilling life for herself that she is happy living. Does that incorporate Blake or not? You will have to read this lovely novella to find out.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
What an amazing, quick love story!! I have loved this series of widows and how they get their second chance. The author does an amazing job of second chance romances with twists and turns that leave you breathless. The story definitely leaves you begging for more after the last page. Another great book to add to this series!!
Sloan is still recovering from her husbands death. What happens is a quick, steamy love affair and life moves on. Later, circumstances bring them back together and the story continues. This story is one that will make you fall in love with all the characters all over again!!
A quick read, but quite perfect. Sloan had lived through the devastation her husband had left behind, and the letter from the attorney for a deceased relation set her on the road to Birch Harbour a stopover sees her meeting Blake and a one night stand, oh well she was ready to begin her new life. Love these ladies.

This is one of those series you will fall in love with. Each book is it’s own stand alone book with it’s own female lead character so no need to read each book (but you’ll want to) or read them in order. Nancy does a grest job with her writing that she quickly added herself to my favorite author list. I can’t wait to read more from this series.

This is the second book of this series that I have read, and it will be my last. These are super short even for novellas, not giving any time at all to develop character or story. In fact, much of the very short number of words is actually telling us what is happening to the characters instead of showing us. For me, that is always distancing, even if the events of the book are emotional or violent—both were true for this book.
The book was just odd to me. The characters didn’t speak in any sort of natural way that people talk. The events of the first half almost seemed to be melodramatic or going for shock factor rather than showing character or moving the plot forward. And I honestly can’t believe that the author used the phrase both in the blurb and in the book itself (several times there, I think) that the heroine needed the hero to make her feel like a woman. Ick. I don’t like that concept. At least the heroine got her HEA, but I did not enjoy the trip to get there.
