LA-streets have never been THIS dangerous!
With a homicidal maniac bent on destroying the most vulnerable citizens of the city of Los Angeles, Detective Shelby Griffin finds herself caught up in a desperate race to catch a criminal who’s always one step ahead. She and her partner, Detective Trevor Morris, have already narrowly prevented a gang war and a deadly typhus epidemic, but this time the … epidemic, but this time the mysterious killer is striking at the LA roadways– and the city’s traffic is about to become more than just notorious. It’s going to be deadly…
As Shelby races to put a stop to her invisible villain’s latest plot, she starts to uncover a trail of clues that lead her right to the last man she’d ever have suspected to be capable of this kind of evil. She’s looking for answers, but all she can come up with are questions. Why would someone close to her do this? Should she allow herself to look quite so deeply into Seth Cooper’s enchanting blue eyes? And why does LA’s resident vigilante keep addressing his notes to her? Trouble is brewing for LA’s most reluctant detective as she struggles with her heart in this third installment of the Shelby Griffin Mysteries.

Wow
Each book gets better and better. There are so many twists and turns that I’m not sure who is behind all the chaos. Well written with great characters. I look forward to reading more.
This was part of a boxed set. Shelby Griffin is a detective for the LAPD. In this boxed set she gets involved with a gang war, a vigilante, someone trying to kill the homeless and a mysterious person trying to take over the city among other crimes. Could this person be pulling all of the strings on all of these crimes or are there others involved? Who is the vigilante and is he trying to help or hurt Shelby? The storylines were intense. It was action-packed with a strong heroine, a likable cast and it got you engaged rooting for Shelby and those involved in working with/helping her solve these crimes. So many twists and turns to keep you guessing. What a gripping thriller that will have you sitting on the edge of your seat.
Sleepless Street – a review by Rosemary Kenny
Shelby and Morris are caught between a rock and a hard place in the third installment of the series, Sleepless Street.
On one side they’re trying to trace and catch the mysterious, Stetson-wearing vigilante, who seems determined to execute his own brand of justice to those he deems to be wrongdoers…on the other is the evil mastermind who seems to want to destroy the city by any means possible, using mercenaries to do his dirty work for him.
This time it’s his intention to cause major havoc and destruction on the freeway – and it seems Ramirez is part of, if not totally responsible for it.
How can our intrepid pair get to the truth and thwart the rising death toll?
Read Audrey Walker’s Sleepless Street to find out how this thrilling tale ends… don’t delay!
I received a discounted electronic copy of these short police procedural novels, five in all, from the author. Audrey Walker writes a concise, compelling tale peopled with protagonists who are well rounded and very human, and her twists and turns in the plot are credible and well-executed. Taking place in Los Angeles, the joys and pitfalls of that community play into the storyline, are actually another character at play. Each tale is complete in and of itself, with a trailing tidbit leading into the next. The stories would be fine taken one by one, but I found myself binging right on through to the other side. These are crimes that could occur anywhere, and Shelby Griffin and her partner Trevor Morris are members of the Los Angeles Police Department, detectives in the Murder Squad. They work well together, though their personalities would seem to make that impossible. The play as they work together on a crime is smooth and obviously something well-rehearsed. It is a pleasure to observe them working the crime. Aubrey Walker is an author I am pleased to recommend to friends and family.
Shelby Griffin Series Box Set included the first five of these short novels, Sleepless Night, Sleepless Mind, Sleepless Street, Sleepless Hunt, and Sleepless Shelby.
This is the third book in the Shelby Mystery series and it was even better than the last. Shelby catches a guy on foot who killed a motorist in what appears to be road rage, but Shelby thinks too many exits were under construction causing for even more traffic. Morris doesn’t agree with her but Shelby gets a note from the viligante with a map and some of the construction sites marked with an X. Shelby calls and none of those roads were supposed to be under construction. So they head off to one. You will have to read the book to find out what happens next. This series just keeps getting better.
Another great book, I am enjoying this series with Shelby and her partner Morris. It ended on a cliffhanger so I am looking forward to reading the next book. I received an ARC for an objective review.
