Hard to go wrong with Greg Iles. Never disappointed.
Not the best Greg Illes book that I have rea. Dragge on an on.
Another formulaic book from Greg. I’m done with him for a while.
Engaging to the last page!
I have always enjoyed reading the Greg Iles book but this one took me by surprise. No wonder Stephen King provides the cover review. Definitely haunting but so well written and love that it still takes place in Natchez!!
couldn’t get by the daily grind of lead character
Even though it was easy to figure out from the beginning who the killer was, I still very much enjoyed the book. Easy read.
This book drew me in easily and kept me in suspense. But not being a male, I did not appreciate the ending. Perhaps a male reader would, since the obsessed protagonist is male.
Love lies writing
The unlikely scenario of a soul going into another body at the time of death was a real stretch of the imagination. I have read all of Greg’s books & they were all page turners I found hard to put down, as well as being a great read. Stick to crime Greg sci-fi/fantasy is definitely not up to your other books.
I’ve always admired Iles’s writing style which is funny, sassy and intense. I love smart and smart-allecky characters and these abound in the world of Iles. You can always get on a good read.
John Waters thinks he is a happily married man with just a few business worries. Then he sees a woman who is the exact image of his dead girlfriend from long ago. A touch of the supernatural takes this story on a harrowing thrill ride, where you can trust nobody. Nobody is whom they seem. Read this book if you like stories that make you wonder where people do go when they die- or when they don’t!
The ending was unexpected!
Taut.
I gave up on it.
Greg Isles never disappoints!!
Greg Iles is the John Steinbeck of mystery writing.
Much better than his trilogy.
I spent the first half of this book thinking how could anyone be this stupid and the second half thinking there is no way out of this.
This was a totally different read than what I am used to from Greg Iles. I am used to his books being realistic, good stories. Not used to possession by another soul, or maybe demon.
I didn’t really like any of the characters (except Penn). Couldn’t really feel any sympathy for any of them. Whatever this was, hope he got it out of his system.
I have read all of this authors books and enjoyed each one.
