It’s a page turning world you get lost in! I loved every moment up until the last page where I was left on a cliffhanger of the worst proportions I am dying not knowing!!
Wowza! I don’t even know where to begin with this book! First of all it is another cliffhanger just not as bad as the first. Second, I love Adie and the way relationships grow in this book. All I can say is I did NOT see this coming. Phenomenal!!
I really enjoyed reading this book. It’s packed with great characters, wonderful new experiences, and the appearance of the moon princess’s protector that is suffering with the curse. If you enjoy mystical stories and tales of werewolves, you will enjoy reading this series.
Where do I even begin. First off I want to say this is a fresh read. Meaning there isn’t another story out there like this. I’m grateful for that.
Secondly I want a beast of my own. Lol
Lucky /Luna I just think she is so strong and caring she has such a big heart! At first she’s so angry at Axel but she forgives him. It broke my heart for Lucy and we’ll to be separated and I couldn’t wait for the Beast to find her so they could be reunited again I really enjoyed this book so much I had such a hard time putting it down Stephany pulls you into this mystical world I cannot wait for book 3! I hope you guys will enjoy this book as much as I did I highly recommend the series..
The story just keeps getting better with each book. I couldn’t put it down. Stayed up all night to finish reading it. Lucy just needs to remember what she said about love. Can’t wait to see what happens next for Lucy, Will, Alec, and Axel.
Stephany Wallace just continues to amaze and publish awesome books, keep it up! Lucy goes through so much, but as much as like all the characters: Karleen, Adie, Alec and Axel, and of course, Will, little Gustav stole my heart lol. It was wonderful to see that there was a reason why the lycan is so protective of Lucy and called her Luna.
Wow! What an action-packed, page-turning, heart-wrenching, tear-jerker yet; heart-warming, endearing and empowering second book!
Stephany created such an absolutely gorgeous setting that I actually felt like I was there experiencing this fairy-tale world! I have always wanted to go to Germany and experience the Christmas markets, and the astute charm that embodies it. Stephany lovingly depicts details down to the minuscule subtleties without making it seem boring, long-winded or cartoonish.
There were so many fond moments that made me tear up in a good way, and some heartbreaking moments for Luna that made you wonder how she is so strong. She is one of the most fierce MCs and at the same time, so loving and caring. What an absolute masterpiece Stephany created!
Book 2 continuing on from the cliffhanger of book 1, so I’d recommend starting with the first book. Book 1 was awesome! This book was cool too! Lucy has been kidnapped by Axel and taken to Germany; Will’s beast takes over and begins his quest to find Lucy. Lucy is rightfully unhappy with Axel, but gives him the benefit of the doubt because there’s quite the reason for why he took her. I enjoyed the twists to the story; things with Lucy’s history. I enjoyed the world building too; love castles and small, quirky villages. I wanted Lucy to have more fight to her; she comes across as too fragile at times, so I’d like to see her becoming more mentally and emotionally strong. I do like her chill vibe; I appreciate her lighthearted side, just need more character growth from her. I wasn’t a fan of her type of humor; Lucy’s “jokes” and weird thoughts about Adie, Axel, and his brother just didn’t work for me; cringe inducing for me. Also, still not a fan of the whole “platonic” kisses with Axel; it just takes me out of the story every time it happens. The story is still very entertaining, and I like where the story is going. Love the shifter aspect of course! Like the whole Will and Beast scenario going on. Excited to see where the series is going to go!
I can’t get enough of this world & its characters! It’s absolutely amazing! Lucy is such a strong women, who is growing as a person. I have to start the next book right away
It’s amazing from the very beginning. I love the characters. The the story keeps you wanting more that you can’t put the book down. If you loved the first book you’ll love the second book. Highly recommend this book/series.
fabulous continuation of this series!! … love the twists and turns! … NEED more!!
A lot is revealed in this second book of the series – so many questions are answered, or we get the start of an answer since it’s complicated. Because of where the story went, things felt slower in this book. There is so much to learn and unpack with new surroundings that led to less action/excitement for me. I found myself skimming much if the castle descriptions, but others will find it brings them into the space.
There are action scenes, for sure, but I felt that we were watching Lucy go on one emotional rollercoaster ride after another. Knowing her personality from the first book and how she was brought to get new location (trying not to have spoilers for book 1 here), I excepted some big emotions, but so many felt too extreme and even dramatic for the moment – and I mean that kindly because the character has been through a ton.
There was one chapter that felt out of place for the timeline – I think it somehow got flipped with an earlier chapter (it’s after racing with the army and she hasn’t seen the cars at that point).
I did appreciate seeing things from both Will-as-a-human’s POV as well as his Lycan form – that helped keep the Will/Lucy story going because I felt that Lucy was consistently engrossed in her new surroundings (which were a lot, I grant you that) and would every now-and-then remember him. And when she would, it would get extreme, but she wasn’t willing to do or say anything about it until so much later in the book to even try to see him or get word to him – he doesn’t have a cell phone, but she could’ve had something sent to his house from day 1 if she had wanted…so that felt inconsistent at times.
I think this is a fascinating world and the story is quite interesting. This book, just didn’t keep me as engaged and it’s a 2.5-star (due to skimming) rounded up for me.
This picks up where the first left off. Lucy has been whisked away (well kidnapped really) and is finding out who she really is. While she is having her whole world shattered and dealing with the idea her life was a lie, Will has let the Lycan take over and is searching for her.
So we have dueling plots that come together. WE have Will’s struggle within and his need to find Lucy. We see him start to turn more Lycan has his search goes on. His love for Lucy is what keeps him from losing himself to the beast completely.
We also have Lucy learning about who she really is and coping with it. That was heartbreaking to watch for she learns her family is really a group that kills people like her. That she isn’t who she thought she was but also that she is royalty. She begins to search herself and try to heal while having those around her become family for her.
The story is fascinating and heartbreaking but also uplifting because you see this girl rise and be stronger. You see Will fight for love and find Lucy against all odds. And you see love prevail. I rooted for these two and can’t wait for the next in the series.
Omg i love will and l.c this seires is so amazing. Stephany never stops amazing us with her talent for her story telling and the cliff hanger ending omg must read
This was a very powerful story!!! It’s starts with such an odd twist but it all fits and gets deep. I love the characters and the over all story!!!
Stephany Wallace continues to surprise and intrigue every time I dive into one of her books. This book picks up right where the first one left off and gives us access to Lucy, Will and the Lycan. We have questions answered, surprises around every corner and more questions that need answers. It was a page turner that I couldn’t put down and man, that ending!
Lucy, Will, the twins! Gah I loved them! This book was filled with all the feels! I absolutely loved this book. I can’t wait for the next!
Slayer of Hope & Sorrow is the 2nd book of the Curse of the Lycan series and what a fantastic continuation!
Lucy has been kidnapped by Axel and his family and taken to Germany and Will…. well the Beast has taken over and now searching for Lucy his Luna. In this book, the truths comes out of Lucy’s past and who she really is. The Beast has full control of Will and will do everything to bring Lucy back and will destroy anyone in his way.
No spoilers is given in this review. You have to read it! I love the growth of Lucy and how strong she becomes, the interaction between her and the other characters, there’s plenty of action, twists and turns and I absolutely love it! I can’t wait for the next book to come out!
Wow. I’m totally blown away with this story. I was so invested and drawn I couldn’t put it down. It picks right after the events of book one (beast). Lucy is taken and she realizes her best friend Axel is responsible. Secrets and Revelations come to light and the real truth about Lucy’s identity is reveal. Everything is explain but not easy to take… There are hunters that will stop at nothing to get Lucy, even the ones that she once called family. In the meantime we have Will who is desperately searching for Lucy. He wants her back. We also learn who he truly is and what that means for Lucy. I was actually torn between Will and Axel. For the entire book, Lucy is separated from Will and she and Axel get to bond and share very cute scenes. They have an awesome chemistry but Lucy makes it very clear who she is really in love. So does Axel. Will does find Lucy but the consequences are huge. Beautiful story!! Leaves on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait for the next one!
