This book is definitely full of triggers, it’s dark and not for the faint of heart! The author holds no punches as she delves in to the mind of a young woman who was sold, broken and turned in to nothing more than a slave. There is some slight light in the book, in that she is bought by a man who did so only to set her free. This story goes in to all of the emotions, mind set and physical issues that go with trying to recondition the human mind from what it has been conditioned to think is normal. This truly is a horrific story to read and is one that shall have you in tears for the poor woman. It’s a really well written story and there seems to have been a lot of thought and research going in to not only the plot but also the characters and how they react and their dialogue. This is NOT your sweet little HEA story with a bit of BDSM thrown in.
This is an emotionally laden, intense book. It does feature themes and subjects that some may find offensive and serve as triggers for others. Also readers should be aware that this is book 1 of 4 and it does end on a cliffhanger. This book starts the complex relationship between Stephan a Dom and Brianna, the slave he purchases to rescue. I’ll be up front on my opinion, I’m sort of on the fence about this book/series. I liked Stephan and his willingness to rescue Brianna and his patience with her, but there were some things I thought should have been done differently. In the end I feel that this is just one of those reads that will either work for you of it won’t; it is all going to boil down to your own thoughts, feelings and ideas. You will have to make up your own mind.
Really well written . Makes you want to continue the whole series.
Great author like all her books
It was well written but you needed all 4 books for the whole story. It seemed like one book was broken into arbitrary sections.
Captivating
This book just made me so angry! I’m sure the following book/books are better, but I’m not sure I can continue this series. I’m glad she found a better person. The flashbacks are, insane, hence my anger. Believable and unfortunate.
I don’t like books that leave you hanging.
So boring
Need better book cover, girl was not pretty or beautiful and actually distracted from the story. Book was a little too too but still appreciated the effort. Covers support the book and let the author down.
Well written. Not what I was expecting from this genre, but still captivating.
It was excellent the stories contained in the book were diverse and entertaining. Would recommend to readers.
Not only was I rivited and could put the book down long enough to make my self food, but the characters were teriffic to read.
Breanna, what can I say. WOW! I would have never thoughr in a lifetime but with the real world knowledge of human trafficking I can only imagine. I want to see how the story ends. I want more.
Great characters and build up. Developing relationships and flashbacks keep you intrigued
I loved it!
Surprised to find this book compassionate and entertaining. Makes me wanting to read the next series.
Loved this book! Couldn’t put it down.
I read halfway and couldn’t finish it. It was missing something.
It’s a really good book
I enjoyed how the author wrote the book from the perspective of both of the main characters. It was nice to see their different takes on some of the more impacting moments.
