The author has, again, given us characters we can connect with. Some of our favorite, and some not so favorite, people return to Texas for the wedding of Jack and Meghan. Unfortunately, before Jack arrives, there is a murder and the Truman family is put in the spotlight.

When Meghan arrives at her parent’s house two weeks before the wedding there is so much hustle and bustle going on with people all over the place already starting to decorate. Meghan asks he mother what is going on, she and Jack wanted a simple wedding with 40-50 of their closest friends and family. Her mother had not listened to her at all, there were to 600 guests and it would be televised. Again Meghan tries to tell her mother this is not what she and Jack wanted. Then her mother said we’ll where is Jack? Meghan tells her he had some important work that he had to finish before he could come. Her mother and a couple of sisters said they were glad that the security guard wasn’t coming, he wasn’t good enough for Meghan. Meghan says he is a detective and the love of her life and he will be there next week in plenty of time for the wedding. Then Thelma Barrington barges in and said you all did not show up in time for the cake testing. Meghan said she had planned to bake her own cake which horrified her mother and causes Thelma to storm out. Then Karen, Meghan’s calming friend from Sandy Bay hears all about it and she Nd Meghan decide to go a couple of towns away to a bakery that is owned and ran by David. Meghan sees a cake she loves it is white icing with black trim and roses. Before she gets a chance to taste it, Thelma comes barging in. She said so you are going to a baker I trained and he stole all of my recipes instead of using me. Meghan first asks her did she follow them here and she said yes. The David said I worked at her bakery until I could make enough to buy my own and I didn’t steal any of your recipes. Then Thema knocks off a top part of a cake that is ready to go out. Karen and Meghan leave and it is not long before they find out that Thelma is dead. So once again Meghan puts her sleuthing hat on to try and figure out who did it. At first the police arrest David which sends Meghan’s mother into a tail spin and she heads to the jail to see him, even though it is after visiting hours. The rest of the family don’t know what to think. And then there are so many twists and typurns and Thelma’s husband owns a newspaper and puts very unflattering comments in it about the Truman family. Then Meghan’s mother says there won’t be a wedding, more twists and turns happen. You MUST READ this book to see if the murderer is caught, if the wedding happens and what kind of wedding will it be? I couldn’t put it down once I started it. I love the characters of Sandy Bay and am glad that Meghan has moved away from her overbearing mother. This was a GREAT READ!!!
Allow a long afternoon for this family-friendly tale in which the plans of Sandy Bay residents Meghan Truman and Detective Jack Irvin for a simple Texas wedding in Peach Tree Grove are thwarted by the mother of the bride, Rebecca Truman. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
Meghan and Jack finally tie the knot. But not before several disasters occur. Where Meghan goes, trouble follows. If it can go wrong, it will. Join these great characters for another round of fun, excitement and, oh yes, murder. You’re gonna’ love it.
Meghan and Jack’s wedding day is almost here! I have waited a long time for this book. Meghan flies home to Texas to get ready for her wedding and things seem to go wrong for her from the minute she steps into her parents’ home. This was an exciting book and it kept me on my toes. I can’t wait for the next book in the series to watch Meghan and Jack begin their married lives.

Oh WOW!!!!!! This is another fantastic book in the Sandy Bay series. The story was wonderful and entertaining. I have grown very fond of the characters, they are phenomenal, in this series, and I just love how their relationships have progressed over time. I also really love trying to figure out who the murderer is along with Meghan as she tracks down the killer and the clues.
Meghan went home to prepare for her wedding. From the moment she arrives at the airport and through the two weeks leading up to the wedding, things go from bad to worst. As soon as she arrives, things are in chaos! Meghan’s mother was so overbearing at one point; I wanted Meghan to put her in her place. This was Meghan’s wedding and she couldn’t understand why her parents wouldn’t abide by her wishes. I loved the twists and turns in the story while at the same time trying to get the wedding plans straightened out and ready to go. At first, I thought the husband killed the baker, but when I read about the handyman, I thought something was suspicious. And David. What a surprise. Who is this person and why was her mother so upset? What was she hiding? I thought maybe her mother was involved somehow. I didn’t think it was an affair but thought perhaps a silent partner with his bakery or perhaps blackmail. Glad to see the dogs made it to the wedding. The interactions with the characters were great. I didn’t want to put it down. The characters are witty and entertaining. This book is full of humor, mystery and suspense and I highly recommend it!
