Ky Three years ago my father walked away. Away from our MC club, all his responsibilities, and me. We haven’t spoken since the day he handed me the keys to the kingdom. Shoved them down my throat was more like it. I hate him, and the new family he’s playing house with. He left his entire life behind for a woman he barely knows. But I’m strong, resilient, and don’t need a damn soul to survive. At … damn soul to survive.
At least, that’s what I thought…until she walked into my bar.
Kira
Someone is watching me. I can feel it. I wake up in the middle of the night freaked out of my mind, paranoid a stranger is there. My skin prickles every time I leave my house, because I know someone is following me.
I’m afraid. Alone. And there’s only one person left to turn to.
The stepbrother I never met. The man my stepfather speaks so highly about, but never sees. He’s the president of a notorious motorcycle club, and exactly the kind of person I need to protect me.
Little did I know, Ky Parish, freakin’ hates my guts.
Slashes in the Snow is an enemies to lovers, stepbrother romance, romantic suspense (emphasis on romance) with dark elements. Reader discretion is advised.

After living through a rough past and childhood, things seem to be looking up for Kira in adulthood, but suddenly she can feel that she is being followed or the sense of someone watching her. With her mother and step-father out of town, she turns to the only other person she can trust – her step-brother Ky who she has never met. The resentment that Ky has towards his father for abandoning him and the club after meeting his current wife, he has no plans to help Kira in any capacity at first, but once they meet the sparks instantly fly and he can’t get her out of his mind. What starts out as a way to get back at his father turns into much more when the feelings between the two start to grow, similar to what happened with their parents. What I loved most about this book was that I was continuing to guess what was going to happen next, shocked when it did, and then it left me with more questions and the cycle repeating itself. It was a great level of suspense within the romance aspect and the prequel story is a must to help understand and make sense of this one!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
I read the prequel and I couldn’t wait to read Kira and Ky’s story. Ky is angry because his dad drove off into the sunset with his new wife. His step sister asked him for help and he reluctantly does so. The story is sexy and sweet. I normally don’t read MC stories but how can I resist a book written by M. Never.
Wow, read this book in one day, just couldn’t put it down. This book was full of danger, romance, and suspense. Also was full of emotional ups and downs. Loved it, highly recommend.
Absolutely loved this book. The flow, the story, all the amazing characters… I was completely hooked from the start. Ky and Kira have so much chemistry, the attitude and spice was a favorite of mine. I am definitely looking forward to more from this series.
M.Never has done it again! This book sucked me in and kept me trapped till I finished. I need more!
I loved the characters and the story is well written. I liked the angst of their emotions. The danger, action and right to the end kept on the edge of my seat.
Ky and Kira are two remarkable characters. He is charasmatic and gorgeous and so filled with rage that it’s going to eat him alive. Kira’s fear was incredibly moving. The same goes for her bravery in facing her own demons and bringing them out in the open. As these two moved toward each other, even though there was some effort to resist, it was apparent that what they felt was more than lust. The unseen menace gave me a few chills.
This story took a hold of me, and held me tight until it was done. A quick flash for the attraction, but a slow build up for it to be acted upon. Not quite an instalove, but not far from it. Kira and Ky have a definite physical attraction, but Ky has some issues he needs to figure out first. Of course, once he does, he still screws up. Kira hasn’t had the easy life he assumes, and he certainly doesn’t endear himself to her with his attitude and actions. When he finally really comes around, it does it in spectacular fashion though, so I forgave along with Kira
But first and foremost, and you forget this a bit, this is a romantic suspense. The story certainly grabs that title and runs with it for the last quarter of the book. Anything more would be a spoiler, but trust me, you’ll be flipping pages to see how this all works out!
It must be so isolating to know someone is watching you and no-one believes you. Kira is so strong that she plucks up the courage to ask her stepbrother by marriage to help her even though she knows he doesn’t like her. Then just when they start to develop a relationship, Ky’s best friend almost sabotages it. Kira’s strength not only allows her to continue, it allows her to forgive and in so doing reaches Ky’s soul. The passion between them sizzles off the page and the love they have for each other is palpable. Suspense to be sure but a real feel good book and I really enjoyed it.
What a great contemporary, with a little suspense, romance from MNever.
Ky and Kira were destined to be together, I really enjoyed their story, and with a cast of great characters I think we’re in store for more Baum Squad.
Slashes in the Snow by M. Never is the first book in her brand new Baum Squad series. A delicious cross between a step-brother romance and an MC romance. Riddled with suspense and sexual tension this was a wonderful read. Gritty without being too dark. I have been a fan of this author for a little while now and this was a great book. I’m excited to see who’s story is up next. Enjoy!

Slashes in the Snow: A Baum Squad novel
By M. Never
Kira Kindrick is home alone due to the fact her mother and stepfather are in Paris for business. She stayed behind for finals and will join them in a month. Unfortunately she feels like she’s being followed and watched in her home so she seeks out the only person she thinks can help ,her step brother Ky. They have never met before but her stepfather Gerald speaks highly about him so she goes to see him at The Lion’s Den the bar the MC he is the president of hoping to talk to him. Well little did she know Ky Parish apparently hates her and her new family. Even when she explained she thought she might have a stalker he threw her out. Luckily eventually he reconsidered and agreed to help.Their chemistry is off the charts hot, steamy, all consuming. Life gets complicated between them and things are said out of anger, betrayal, abandonment. There is a lot to this story from forgiveness, redemption, trust and love. This is a romance suspense enemy to lovers novel.
Five steamy
Holy moley!! I loved every single word!! It was a bit of an emotional rollercoaster ride for me but one I was thrilled to be on. I found it impossible to put down once I began which of course led to a slight case of sleep deprivation. It was a beautiful and addictive story from beginning to end.
This book has a little something for everyone. A motorcycle club. Stepbrother/stepsister romance. Painful pasts. Overcoming heartbreak. A mystery that is revealed in the end. And a HEA.
This is a creepy, stalkery romantic suspense! Ky is bitterly resentful of his dad and his new family, including Kira, so when she came to him for help, he wasn’t so ready to jump right in. I liked Kira, and the way she called Ky out every time was great. I didn’t care for Ky at first, he seemed like a self-absorbed jerk, but realizing that he had his own inner demons to battle made me start to feel for him. The twists to this story kept me on the hook waiting to see where things would go. Ky and Kira had great chemistry, but Ky could be quite the jerk at times too.
Such a great read. A little slow at times but the build up was very nice to read. The suspense was very ice and lead to a perfect ending.
I don’t normally read step sibling books,as most are to taboo for my liking. However this book had the step sibling trope an it was very tastefully written. The book started out a little slow , but the story picked up momentum once Ky agrees to protect Kira.I was quite surprised who Lisa’s stalker was. I will be reading Beaker’s book.
This book is absolutely amazing! I haven’t read many books by this author but it’s definitely my favorite that I have read by M. Never! Once I started I didn’t want to put it down! Ky and Kira’s story has everything I love in a book. I can’t wait to read more by this author!
Suspense-filled dark gritty romance
This is way above-average enemies to lovers or step-brother romance. The storyline twists and turns in on itself. Just when you think everything is going to work out another turn comes to the story. Kira is the heroine and Ky the hero. They are step siblings that have never met and they are definitely enemies. M.Never has written a captivating storyline that makes you stay up way past your bedtime to finish reading the book! Kira and Ky are both complex characters. Through M.Never’s writing style, you feel the pain and emotion of the characters in this book. Even her secondary characters have a depth to them. This book has all feels from the high of new love to the devastation of a love lost. There is plenty of salacious fun between these two! Definitely recommend this book and the prequel to it, Snowfall.
There’s a fine line between love and hate. Ky has spent the last few years hating his father for walking out on him and their MC family for the love of a woman. Now the shoe is on the other foot and Ky finds himself falling hard and fast for the one woman he should despise. When Kira comes to him for help his first instinct is to scare her off, but then he sees that the fear in her eyes is real. This story is fast paced and filled with secrets, lies, passion, and revenge. Their connection is intense and their love for each other is fierce, but what happens when outside influences threaten to rip them apart? I thoroughly enjoyed Ky and Kira unique love story and I look forward to reading more by this author.
