An odd, disturbing, yet still entertaining tale of the supernatural from the author of “Cloud Atlas” And like “Cloud Atlas” I can easily see this novel being made into a movie.
David Mitchell proves he can do anything with this nifty spin on the creepy, maybe kinda-sorta ghost story.
Its David Mirchell – you know it’s great. So, if you haven’t read The 1000 Autumns of Jacob De Greut. Do that now!
Wow! A ghost story of sorts. But so much more…quite enjoyable.
Interesting initial concept although the story line veered off into the unbelievable and increasingly at warp speed at the end, unbelievably laughable. The writing was okay – a good sense of atmosphere over various time periods. Some key points made too obvious (the real identify of some of the characters), others too obscure (Jonah’s throat injury and ramifications).
