. Another fantastic book to one of my favorite series. Gargoyles.
I always this author and especially when she writes MM! Slade and Matthew have a difficult road ahead of them. Slade is a 200+year old Gargoyle and Matthew is Frey’s “son” and he has to wait to claim Matthew until he is of age. Matthew loves spending time with Slade and when he ghosts him Matthew is hurt. They are fighting their feelings for each other but they can’t fight fate. I can’t wait for more from the Stone Society!!
Slade is #12.5 in the Stone Society Series. What can I say but I love these Gargoyles! This is Colden “Slade” Ramsom and Matthew Hartley’s story.
Matthew is Frey’s adopted kid & also his BIL. Frey is married to Matt’s sister, Abbi. Frey asked Slade to be Matthew’s protector. But being around Matthew all the time and knowing Matthew is his mate is driving Slade crazy to the point that Slade is now ghosting Matt. Slade has Frey’s permission to for him to date Matt.
Slade is so concerned because there is a huge age difference. Slade doesn’t want to take anything away from Matt because he thinks that Matt needs time to experience life and yet the mate in him is calling for Matt.
I hate to say of course I loved this book but I do love this book. I am not sure that Faith Gibson has written anything that I haven’t liked. I have loved all these Gargoyles! And, next up will be from Double the Mayhem the 2nd book in the Hounds of Zeus MC. I can’t wait to read it!
Slade: A Stone Society Novella ( Stone Society # 12.5) by Faith Gibson is the story of Slade and Matthew. As the gargoyles are finding their mates among humans, Slade has found his. Once just a bodyguard to Matthew he now discovers he is his mate. The age difference is noticeable and they look more like father and son. Slade is not only concerned about the difference in age but the fact Mathew is getting ready to go off to college. His experiences in life are few and Slade wants him to not miss out. This concern has Slade and his beast frustrated while Matthew thinks his attraction to Slade is one sided. When Slade decides to take Matthew on a trip to discuss their relationship miscommunication, wrong read signals and an abduction get in the way. I love this series and look forward to any book regarding this story, initially I wasn’t over the moon to read about Slade and Matthew. Once again the master of story telling and character development pulled me in and had me chopping at the bit as I was reading their story. A plus is the fact I can always get my fix of the other characters in this series which always puts a smile on my face. I can’t get enough of the Stone Society and look forward to where this author takes me next. You can read this without reading the other books but you will be missing out on some good stuff. 5 stars for me
I normally don’t read MM. It’s just not my cuppa. For some reason if they are within a series that have MF couples and I’m invested in the characters I will read them.
Slade is just so alpha. I love it.
Matthew is adorably cute. They absolutely do make a good couple. The fates chose wisely.
I recommend this whole series.
I read an advanced copy of this book.
I received an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I have been a fan of this series since I first read Rafael’s book in late 2016. Faith Gibson creates another captivating read and you won’t be able to tear your eyes from the pages. This story is about Matthew and Slade in the Stone Society series. I am calling it the “DOUBLE BONUS” novella. Bonus one: It’s not really the length of a novella, we get more! Bonus two: hot M/M action with a slow burn.
Faith was sneaky with this book. Promoted as a novella, I was expecting a lighthearted romantic adventure with some bridging between the Stone Society and the Hounds of Zeus series. She lured me into a false hope that Slade and Matthew would simply enjoy a fabulous billionaire vacation in sunny Florida with side eyes and ageism as their only deterrents.
Wrong, wrong, WRONG. I should have known. Instead she delightfully taunts and teases us for over 100 pages. And the burning. I kept thinking this is it. We are going left. Only to swerve right and fly over a bridge into boiling water. Readers prepare yourselves for the angst, the peril, and the sweet humor delivered in this sizzling tale. 5 stars.
