Keeping us in the Seven Son’s Ranch series, Liz Isaacson gives up Skyler. Skyler has the heart of gold but is insecure on who he is and where he actually belongs in the Walker family.
Mallory is about to be deported because she filed the wrong papers for her green card, so Skyler marries her. Now what could go wrong? Well, about everything. Being a billionaire has it’s perks for Skyler but for Mallory who came from a very poor family in Mexico it doesn’t seem real. After moving to Three Rivers and meeting the Walker family Mallory starts feeling like she belongs, but does Sky? This is a story that brings us to a sensitive subject…immigration. What happens when you come to the country to better yourself but is met with problems? And will the marriage of Sky and Mallory survive the challenges it brings with a marriage so she can stay in the States? I loved the dynamics involved in this story and the challenges it brought forward. Sometimes you wanted to hug the characters, sometimes swat them and tell them to wake up, but always felt their pain and love.
This isn’t the kind of socialist Immigrant/Green Card Story you’d expect!
“Skyler’s Wanna-be Wife” is Liz Isaacson’s 6th Novel in her Engrossing, “Seven Sons Ranch”, completely addicting, Series. The Walker Family continues to grow & evolve, in this poignant & unforgettable Story. I devoured it in one sitting!
To keep themselves safe from further emotional hurt, Skyler & Mallory feel like they have to wear a mask in public; but that’s very exhausting. They’ve been good college friends for the last 2 years, when Skyler marries Mallory to rescue her from her Green Card problem. Can God use this to draw them to Himself, as their marriage grows into an Honest, Forever , without secrets?
Find out how miniature s, & a 2nd homestead built on the Seven Sons Ranch, figure into this LI Novel. I Highly Recommend this Masterfully Written, Great, Page-Turning, Western, Christian Romance!
Here is a story that I really can recommend. The storyline is absolutely beautiful and the characters are all somehow wholesome. No villains in this one and they would have been too much for this story anyway so that is very good. This is a good family story with distinctive leading characters and a lot of supporting ones. Overall I just loved it and am very pleased to give this story fabulous four stars.

Skyler and Mal’s were a cute couple and the way they started to fall in love was sweet and touching.
I also loved to catch up on what was happening to the rest of the family. I enjoyed their story. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Mallery and Skyler entered into holy matrimony to keep Mallery from being deported. Skyler had felt like the black sheep of the family, but with the love of Mallery and his family he realizes that he is special to all of them. It was fun to watch the two of them evolve from friends to a committed couple in love. I can’t wait to read the next In this series.

I really like revisiting Seven Sons Ranch. Yes, they are billionaires, but it isn’t constantly being shoved in your face.
I thought it was sad that Sky felt so out of touch with his family. He had this huge, loving family and felt like he was on the outside looking in. It was sweet that he had Mal. The relationship gave him something that was his, and have Mal a sense of security beyond her need for help with her problem.
In this book, we finally get to find out the details of why Skyler feels like the black sheep of the family.
Like his other brothers, who started out with marriages of convenience, Skyler and Mal grew to love each other. One thing that is consistent is an initial attraction, and connection that each brother has with their potential spouse, and vice versa.
I guess you could read this book as a standalone, but I think it would be so confusing. Each book has information about every Walker brother, their significant others, the parents, and the associated kids as the series moves further along.
I enjoyed this book as well as the others in the series, because no one has a perfect life. They love their siblings, but have sibling issues. They have relationship issues, issues with insecurities, careers, feelings of helplessness, and sometimes health issues.
They come together as a family to be loving, supportive, and strong in their faith. Mal and Skyler were able to seek support as they worked through their problems.
A sweet, romantic, uplifting addition to the Seven Sons series. I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
I love the characters in this book. Of course we’ve met them all before––a great big family of great big cowboys. It’s been a few years since the first wedding, so there are babies in this one, too.
I’m sure it’s no spoiler that one of the tropes in this series is marriage of convenience. Not one starts as a love match. The new thing in this one is that the H actually fesses up to his parents about it. We don’t get a resolution to the issues that urged them to wed, but their marriage doesn’t stay fake for long. 🙂
