Another sensational Thea Paris adventure . . . Starts at 600 mph (literally) and never slows down. Full of dense, twisty, informed plotting and real, compelling characters. Howe is a keeper!
Thea Paris kicks some serious ass in this action-packed thrill ride that grabs the reader from the first exciting page and doesn’t let go until the last. K.J. Howe is at the top of the K&R game.
SKYJACK is sky high! The second in the Thea Paris international kidnap and ransom thrillers begins where the first in the series, FREEDOM BROKER, leaves off: 007 James Bond on steroids! Thea Paris takes on today’s terrorists with equal parts vim and vigor. Incredibly well researched and meticulously thought out and developed, you feel like you are right there, smack dab in the middle of every scene. You’re in for a treat. Enjoy this genuine page turner and be ready for the movie that surely will follow.
“Skyjack” jumped out from a library shelf, and I am so glad I picked it up. It is a first rate thriller that will keep you hooked from the first page to the last.
The author has created a terrific cast of characters that includes kidnap specialist Thea Paris who is escorting two charming children – Jabari and Ayan who were abducted in the past, by Boko Haram to become child soldiers.
Will she manage to find the boys after they are separated by a terrorist gang?
Perfect movie material.
I loved Skyjack. My kind of book with tons of nonstop action and a protagonist who is tougher than tough and smarter than smart and a genuinely selfless person who dedicates herself to rescuing kidnapping victims – this time in the sky over Africa..
All the while dealing with her Type 1 diabetes.
Loved this second book in the Thea Paris series. Exciting from the beginning and just as good as the first. Looking forward to reading the next installment whenever it comes out.
Excellent book that keeps you interested on every page.
I thought this book was great. The premise was out of the ordinary and kept the reader anxious to see what was going to happen next. I would definitely get more books by this author!

A kidnap and ransom thriller, for sure. Just as the subtitle says.
For those that like fast moving action stories, this is the book for you!
Thea Paris is flying with two former child soldiers who are tough but endearing characters. Then tragedy; the pilot allows a skyjacking since refusing to do so will endanger his own family.
The situation is tense to say the least. Thea, a skilled negotiator, is put to the test in this setting. The kidnapped, a plane full, are in constant danger and the child soldiers easy victims.
This book is well written. My single criticism is that some of the character development is weaker than I would like. Regardless, if you are a reader who wants adventure, grab this book!
This is the second book by K.J. Howe that I have read and I was happy to follow her kick-ass heroine, Thea, into another adventure. I love Howe’s extensive research and everything I learn about negotiations while I’m enthralled in a page-turning thriller. Highly recommend this for anyone who likes their female characters to kick some ass and to learn something new along the way.
Although a bit slower than her first novel, The Freedom Broker, author K.J. Howe has again given me hours of enjoyable reading.
As you can imagine, this iteration of the continuing saga of Thea Paris, begins on a plane where Thea is accompanying 2 young boys, former child soldiers, to their adoptive family in England. I was never absolutely sure why these three were on-board a chartered jet, but it didn’t take my mind too far away from the plot. Her father is a billionaire so that may be part of the reason!
The plane is hijacked and Thea negotiates her way off the plane, but without the boys or the rest of the passengers. Tricked into a feigned meeting with the hijacker, the plane takes off again, destination unknown. Thea and her team have to find the passengers, figure out WHY the plane was hijacked, rescue the passengers, and save world from a biological threat. A young man needs to contact Thea and eventually his message helps get her team to the site of possible destruction.
I love the action, the characters, the politics, and history that the author weaves into her thriller. The two boys are fabulous! As former ‘soldiers’, they revert to their learned behavior and help Thea even when she’s not there to direct them.
A fascinating read.
Jump on board and fasten your seatbelts—this is a wild ride.
A great Novel!
In Skyjack, author K.J. Howe delivers a top-notch, action-packer international thriller based on the popular female protagonist Thea Paris. Make no mistake, Thea is one badass operator, reminiscent of Caitlin Strong (a creation of Jon Land). The plot is complex with multiple layers and an unexpected ending that is sure to satisfy the most demanding thriller fan. The cast of characters are well developed and believable, and I found myself easily relating to many. This is the second book based on the main character, and there are numerous references to events in the first novel that will leave you wanting to read that story (The Freedom Broker) as well. However, Skyjack works just fine as a stand-alone novel. Bravo!
K.J. Howe throws us, once again, into the high octane world of international hostage recovery. SKYJACK is a brilliant sequel to THE FREEDOM BROKER that stands on its own with a fast-paced plot, exotic locations, wide cast of characters, and of course, Thea Paris! Highly recommend.
Fast paced and fascinating to read. Great wordsmith. Highly recommend this book and author.
I really wanted to like this book. At times it was quite good, other times not believable at all, and others “preachy”.
