I loved this first book in the Dragons and Druids! A great twist on urban fantasy. Perfect for readers who love dragons, magic, action and a bit of steam 🙂
Interesting characters and plot that keeps me reading! Found Logan prequel & enjoyed that also. I have pre-ordered next in Skyborn series & look forward to reading it as well! Thanks Leia for sharing your gift with us.
Leia has done it again! This book keeps you on your toes, is romantic, has twists you definitely don’t see coming, and absolutely leaves you for wanting more.
It starts off as a rescue mission and then turns into a slow steamy romance, action packed, needing answers book! I couldn’t put it down! I didn’t even know it was ending and then boom it ended I was reading so fast and couldn’t put it down!! You WILL NOT be disappointed in this book!
yazzzzz
i loved it! go read it now! you want action? romance? shifters squad goals? drop dead heartbreaking scenes? then you must start this series now!
What a great dragon/druid story! Loved the characters and how action packed life was for them, the friendships and love stories. Totally recommend this series.
Thoroughly Enjoyable!!
A 4.5 Star Read
Skyborn (Dragons & Druids #1)
I loved this series opener.
Being a new Skyborn Dragon is terrifying & daunting to Sloane. All she’s ever known was human history so learn about the Fae is intimidating. She’s overwhelmed but also pleased to be so included in their pack. I’m not gonna lie – She was a wimp & fool that put her own & everyone else’s life on the line with her fear & insecurities!! But unfortunately it was understandable with her unknown heritage & everyone’s hatred of Druids.
This is an exciting though scary world. I’m really looking forward to learning more about it & their pack!

Skyborn is book one in Leia Stone’s Dragons and Druids series.
This series follows Sloane Murphy a 21 year old who recently found out she can change into a dragon, after falling off the Grand Canyon thinking she was going to die, her body transformed and now she is on the run from hunters. Having no idea if this is real or why these people after her, being homeless on the run with no food, money or clothes, she is constantly on the move. When the hunters catch up to her again and she thinks this is finally the end, a bunch of animals and a tall guy with piercing green eyes show up.
I enjoyed reading this book, the storyline, and concept of humanities last hope is with the Dragons. But I felt that the characters were a little lacking for my likes. I did like the pack dynamics of different animal shifters and the bonds between them all.
Firstly Logan yum I’m just going start there, he thought he was the last dragon on earth. After finding Sloane injured by the hunters, he rushes to her and an instant touch proves she is his mate. Logan is protective, loyal and sweet especially with Mittens. I need me a Dragon shifter wink.
Sloane i found her to frustrating, selfish and childish at times, there was no strong will in her at all. She is skittish and is constantly running away and causing more trouble. Especially at the end where there is a great loss and it’s due to her actions.
I’m hoping that Sloane learns to grow the f up in book two, as I do believe that the world and story Leia Stone has created is intriguing and interesting.
I really enjoyed the array of characters in this book. Each character brought value to the story and I found myself piqued with curiosity regarding the back stories for all of them. There were no characters I felt needed to be removed or reduced in the story, nor any who needed more time in the spotlight. If I had to pick a favorite character it would be Mittens, the kitten, obviously! I always find it interesting when a fantasy genre book is set in present time Earth. There is always an interesting mix of this fantasy genre and our every day world which is quite fun. It really makes the crazy readers like me who enjoy this kind of book think about what the world would be like if it were real. I loved the overlying concepts within the book that cross what we know to be in life today (sickness, weird occurrences, etc…) and mixing it with this fantasy created in the book. This book kept my attention the entire time. I read it in one sitting. It was a quick read for me and I really think other reads will really enjoy this book. I found Leia Stone’s writing to be easy to read and truly deep in the descriptions of the magical world presented. There were also so many ways humor was introduced into the book and I always love when authors accomplish that feat! I have not read other books by Leia Stone, yet! This was one of Amy’s “To Be Read” books from our post a few weeks ago. I am glad it was because now I am ready to pick up another book by this author and I can’t wait! She clearly cares about a lot of issues and shows those in her books. I really enjoy when an author spreads awareness through their works tastefully. Skyborn (Dragons and Druids Book One) does remind me of several other books I have read and…(okay, I’m going to be really honest with readers here and I expect you not to make fun of me!) SKYRIM. I love Skyrim (video game for those of you who don’t know) and I had just been thinking about trying to find some fan fiction. Well, this book was a pleasant surprise for me and I kept finding myself comparing concepts in the book to some concepts in Skyrim. It is so much fun as a reader to find books that relate to other things in our lives! This is one, I am ready to pick up the next book in the series and I hope it ramps up the excitement with the main character, Sloane, and Logan. I would also like to get more backstory for the bad guy and the good guy. Allow me not to give away too much detail. It is an exciting tale. I really enjoyed the flow of this book. I found myself completely intrigued and needing to know what was coming next. The ending leaves the reader on a bit of a cliffhanger, but not too much. There is a plan in mind for where things are going to go in the next book, but there is still so much to learn about the world created and the characters. I was really happy with the ending giving just enough away without spoiling the next book or leaving me pulling my hair out in frustration. Go get this book and read it! Now! I mean, if you are a nerd like me anyway. This is a fantasy book, but it is written very well and will keep you interested through to the end. Dragon shifters. Druids. Magic. Animal shifters. MITTENS the kitten! Do I need to keep going or are you going to start reading it yet?
