Meet shapeshifting skinwalker Jane Yellowrock in the first novel in the New York Times bestselling series that captures “the essence of urban fantasy” (SF Site).Jane Yellowrock is the last of her kind—a skinwalker of Cherokee descent who can turn into any creature she desires and hunts vampires for a living. But now she’s been hired by Katherine Fontaneau, one of the oldest vampires in New … oldest vampires in New Orleans and the madam of Katies’s Ladies, to hunt a powerful rogue vampire who’s killing other vamps.
Amidst a bordello full of real “ladies of the night,” and a hot Cajun biker with a panther tattoo who stirs her carnal desire, Jane must stay focused and complete her mission—or else the next skin she’ll need to save just may be her own…

Faith Hunter does an exceptional job with this series
absolutely one of my favorite series. I have read all of them and I am always impatient for the next in the series. always preorder when available and usually get the audiobook as well. The narrator for the series is fantastic
Incredible premise and an absolute wonder! What a mind-blowing start to a promising series! This is no ordinary vampire book. The principal character, Jane Yellowrock, is a Cherokee skinwalker. And not just ANY skinwalker! This one is exceptional and not just because she is hired by a vampire to hunt a vampire, either. You have to read it to …
This has been such a great read. I was intrigued just reading the back cover but the book ended up being even better. It kept me guessing until the very end. I love Jane and her special cat friend. Starting on the Nextbook right now. I definitely recommend this book.
4.5 stars. Somehow, I hadn’t read Faith Hunter yet. I’m glad I finally bought this book and gave this series a try. This series combines some classic UF tropes – vampires, vampire hunting, witches, and shifters – with less common elements such as a Native American MC and Native mythos. This first book is set in New Orleans, and you can practically …
Another of my all time favorites, Jane Yellowrock is cool, strong, and also a bit broken. I love that she has Beast and that she is a skinwalker, a being that you don’t see much of in PNR or any stories.
With an interesting plot and great characters, Faith Hunter has managed to continue a long series with boring me. This series is definitely a …
Jane Yellowrock rocks
I Love Faith Hunter. She is an incredible writer/author and I haven’t found a single thing that she’s written that I haven’t loved. There isn’t even “bad” book in any of the series written. She just Rocks, plain and simple.
I can’t believe I haven’t read Faith Hunter’s Jane Yellowrock series before now! Just finished Skinwalker and am diving into Blood Cross. Engrossing, entertaining, fast-paced – and I’m delighted to see I have another eleven books ahead of me after book 2. Excellent!
Will hold your interest throughout the book.
Very similar to the Anita Blake series by Laurell K. Hamilton, but without all the sex (so far, anyway). Lots of vampires, lots of action, and lots of gore. It got me hooked.
Engaging SF/fantasy. Part of a series.
I love this entire series. Well written and held my attention.
Faith Hunter has got to be one of my absolute favorite go-to writers for amazing female characters who take no crap from anyone!
This is a great action-packed series, highly recommended…
Just okay
My first by the author and it was an easy read but I kept losing interest and almost painful to get through because of growing bored. I might check out the others from the series because I really thought that I would enjoy them because I love the Mercy Thompson series and this reminded me of it but the first one just was okay. Hopefully, I will …
More plot-based than romance-based, which is exactly what I look for in a fun, paranormal read.
Love this writer.
I will be getting more of these
