I’m rereading this fantastic series right now. I love the character growth, the setting, the inner dialogue, and the action. Magic! And more magic!
Jane Yellowrock is the ultimate, badass, kick-butt heroine. She’s a Cherokee skinwalker, who shares her body with the soul of a mountain lion. She’s not a were, her mountain lion has her own personality and own thoughts, and they can communicate to each other. Jane hires out as a vampire slayer, taking out rogue and insane vamps, but she is …
Gritty and original, with characters who face consequences for their actions–doing their best when there are no easy answers.
Holy Guacamole! Why did it take me so long to find this series?? Alpha female? Check! Mysterious past with some great female shaman mentors? Check! Supernatural mayhem in a cool locale? Double check! Attention to scientific details like DNA signatures and conservation of mass in shape shifting? FOR THE WIN!
Jane is a badass heroine with plenty of …
Loved the use of Native American mythology in the world building.
Anyone can tell, at first glance, that Jane Yellowrock is more than human, but no one can figure out exactly what she is.
Jane is a vampire hunter and seems to be a young, Cherokee woman nearing 30. In reality, though, she’s a lot older than she looks. Jane is a skinwalker: a person able to transform into various animals, at night. Most often, …
An exciting, fun beach read creating a new world and entertaining cast of characters that you’ll enjoy following from escapade to escapade!
Welcome to the world of Jane Yellowrock. She a kick a** heroin that drew me in from first to last page. I love the way she an Beast work and I look forward to learning more.

This book was exciting from beginning to end
Decided to go back and do a binge read on the Jane Yellowrock series. Can’t recommend enough if you enjoy Urban Fantasy with non-stop action, witty repartee, and well crafted stories.
For a solid urban fantasy saturated in all the traditional dark tropes of the genre, you can’t go wrong with Faith Hunter’s Skinwalker. This book was intense and kept me hooked. I’m so excited there are 10 more books in this series!
The series was fantastic, was so sad to read last book in the collection. Loved the writing style and advententure, good and very bad witches. Yummy
Faith Hunter is the best, wonderful characters, great stories.
Great series. I have read them all more than once.
Never disappoints.
I love this series! I’m hooked! Jane is badass! Highly recommend! As an avid reader, I rarely find a series that I can’t get enough of!
Faith Hunter is off to a good start with this first book in her Jane Yellowrock series. While I did find the author a bit wordy at times and the portrayal of Jane’s skills was inconsistent (kick ass vamp slayer one moment and unable to manage a newly risen vamp in the next), Hunter’s ability to portray the French Quarter, the interesting plot …
I love the way shape shifting is handled in this book. Love Jane Yellowrock, and the inclusion of such rich native American details. There’s good old fashioned vampires in this too. Fun read!
Urban fantasy gets a tweak to include the Vampire tribe. The skin-walker takes them out for hire. Good character developement for this kind of story. I’m up for another one.
The first book of a fantastic Urban fantasy series. The characters are wonderfully built and developed. One of my favorites!
