RONE award nominee for best paranormal romance! When a series of grisly murders … best paranormal romance!
When a series of grisly murders points to a supernatural serial killer, the Paranormal Investigations Team calls on Dr. Ever Chace to help them solve the case. Can she untangle the mystery, stay alive, and resist the added danger of her disarmingly attractive partner?
Being human in a world filled with supernatural creatures can give a girl a complex. Dr. Ever Chace wants nothing more than to be able to stand out in this crazy place she calls home. When she’s asked to consult on a case where teens are being brutalized, she relishes the chance to make a difference by helping to stop a monster. But when she’s teamed up to work alongside a sexy shifter, she ends up with more than she bargained for.
Derek Doyle has been a member of the Paranormal Investigations Team since the monsters first revealed themselves to the world. Considering he believes it takes a monster to catch a monster, he’s definitely in the right place. As a lone wolf not used to letting many people in, he isn’t prepared for the effect his new partner, consultant Dr. Ever Chace, has on him.
With a murderer on the loose, Ever and Derek will have to put their attraction aside while the hunt continues. Easier said than done… right?
The Ever Chace Chronicles has more than 350 five-star reviews on Goodreads, and is perfect for fans of the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series by J.R. Ward and the Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost.

Good book if you like paranormal stories. Violence. Romance but not erotic.
Loved the plot. Great characters.
Thanks for writing about Valkyries. But make sure your proofreader is aware of homonyms. Reign or rein? Vice or vise?
I really liked this book “but” there is nothing worst then getting to the end and find out it continues into part 2. Of course then they charge if you want to see how it ends. I refused.
i liked the story line and characters, just didn’t know it was going to be a series so was a little disappointed that i have to wait for the next book. Glade that i found the second book already out. On to the next. Hope its as good as the first.
Good read
It was a good easy read with a fun fast moving storyline
I enjoyed this book.
Very entertaining read.
Good story, but I hate cliff hangers!
Oh my, where to begin?
So the thing that got me interested in this series was that the cover reminded me of the Night Huntress series by one of my favorites, Jeaniene Frost. I was expecting it to be okay, but nothing world-changing.
Oh, boy.
This book is another what I would call “sudden wonder.” A book that I go into expecting mediocrity and forgettable plot but end up loving.
The story is about Derek, a werewolf, who sets out to solve the case of a string of murders using the help of a human woman named Ever. Amidst the fight for their lives and those around them, mysteries surrounding Ever’s life begin to appear. The story is told from multiples perspectives and includes the perspectives of a few of the other characters, which I love since there are other romances going on on the side.
Would I recommend this book? Yes. Yes, yes, yes.
This book is a pretty easy read, not erotica so no need to hide it around your innocent kids, and is full of alot of action outside the romance. The romance does develop a little fast, but this is only the first book. By the end of it, I realized that it wasn’t a love at first sight, married in a month scenario, and I was relieved. The romance between the two leads didnt overtake or drive the plot. It was a story about a murder mystery that just happened to have a supernatural romance going on in there, too. I am so looking forward to getting the next book and finishing the series when I have the money.
Loved Loved this story, I just wished it did not have a cliff hanger! Must read second book!
Fantastic start to a new series from Susan Harris! Imagine a paranormal Criminal Minds type set up and that pretty much sums this up. Action packed with some amazing twists the story kept me turning pages until I got to the end… and now I want more! Definitely add this one to you TBR list! V””V
I decided to try this series out after falling head over heels for Susan’s Defy the Stars trilogy.
It’s somehow got the perfect amount of everything. The decriptions of events are detailed but not to a point that drags on & there’s some surprise twists that keep you guessing when you think you know “who done it”. Ended on one heck of a cliff hanger but to be honest I was planning on reading the second one anyway.
Very original story, which I enjoyed a lot. But it ends on a cliffhanger so I won’t be reading this author again.
I thought Harris took a lot of ideas from Patricia Briggs’s Alpha & Omega series too close for comfort. So I don’t want to continue this series, sorry!
Annoying main character
I liked the book but it was a little to far out there for my reading taste. I would consider reading another.
A fun read. Somewhat predictable
Not interesting enough to hold my attention. It is really rare that I don’t finish a book, but I couldn’t get into this one by halfway and quit reading. The characters were very one dimensional and stereotypical. Plot seemed to be just going nowhere.
