I found the lead characters quite like-able and well developed. The plot line was original and the location for the plot was great. As I live in the South, I liked the antebellum local.
I found some of the romantic parts a bit more than I would like.
Overall, a good read and I recommend it.
Enjoyed very much, I would never have guessed the murderer. I see that the South doesn’t care about saving history. They are going along with Yankees & others by tearing down the Southern statues. It is a disgrace.
Colorful characters, Engrossing story line
Gave me a desire to visit the American South and visit some mansions
I rather liked it, quick, easy read and good, will read the next book too.
I don’t like violent books and this one starts out with a grisly murder. I stopped reading about 50 pages in since it appeared another grisly murder was going to occur. I feel like the description made the book out to be a suspenseful story about a woman trying to find the murderer of a friend but left out the serial killer part. Not necessarily a bad book but not for me due to the violence and hint of sexual assault to come.
Interesting story, but it dragged in places.
Really liked this mystery – never would have guessed who was “the bad guy” in this one.
One of the best books I’ve read.
I loved the characters, the storyline and everything about it. Great read. I started with book 2 because it was free from Bookbub. Now I’m going to get the rest in the series.
I liked the historical parts weaved into the story. A nice surprise ending.
Really good book. Hard to put down.
Very good read…..couldn’t put it down.
Well written. Author pegged the north/ south conflict perfectly.
It was realistic in the way a person would feel about an old plantation home and the difference between a northerner and a someone from the south. It kept you guessing about the secret room and who the murderer was and who had been murdered. Enjoyed it very much.
This keep me interested. Love the characters, mystery abd history. I enjoyed the relationship.of the characters.
Couldn’t stop reading! Loved the story and the characters
I really loved the storyline… Grabbed my interest from the beginning…
less than fair
