I am a new Harlan Coben fan! I loved this book. Hated having to put it down to go to work or sleep. I wanted to keep turning the pages to see what would happen next! This one had lots of drama, mystery, suspense, drama…essentially a wonderful book. There were so many “oh my goodness!” moments. You never knew what was going to happen once you turned the page. Lots of puzzle pieces to be put together to solve the mystery. Coben does a great job of giving you just enough that you think you know where it’s going, but still leaves you guessing.
Can’t wait to read another book by this author.
Wow! Best book I’ve read in a long time. Kept me turning the pages from the start until the end, and the mystery unfolded so well. I also enjoyed the bits of humor interspersed throughout.
As always I love Harlan Coben, he’s a great plotter and storyteller. While this wasn’t my favorite, it was a satisfying read. The middle got a little saggy for me, I’m used to him moving at a more furious pace. With that said, my expectations for this author are high and my four-star rating is comparing this book to his other great novels. This one wasn’t the best, but still worth reading.
I loved this book for a dozen reasons, but here are the top three. First, it’s not a romance but it’s a love story. Second, the suspense about killed me (in a good way). Third, I read it in one sitting and couldn’t put it down. It’s definitely on my list to re-read.
I love this author. Great plots and characters
Another suspenseful gem by the master of suspense! This will grab readers by the heart and refuse to let go. Good luck putting it down before the ending. Rich character development, but not as much action as other books by this author. Overall, a great read.
Harlan Coben will never let you down. 5- star mystery/thriller!!
Though not my favorite by Coben, I do enjoy his writing and his knack for creating a page turning story.
From start to finish I was wrapped in this story. I simply could not put the book down and was frustrated by life interrupting my reading. Intense and very relatable characters
One of my favorites of his
All I want to say is that I have read all of Mr. Corbin’s books up to the present and this was by far my favorite.
Sometimes breaking up is hard to do. I could not put this book down!
Jake Fisher carries a very big torch. Who wouldn’t if the girl of your dreams dumped you like a hot potato without the fixin’s? And now, years later, there may be hope.
Or is there?
Harlan Coben has created a fantastic mystery that kept me spell-bound. Getting dumped is always tough. But Coben captures the torment and self-deprecation of eternal heartache like a master. Who wouldn’t cheer for poor Jake?
Relationships can be pretty complicated. But getting answers is downright dangerous. Why are people trying to kill Jake? And why are the police so interested? If he doesn’t let go, it might be the death of him. But for Jake, that might be better than giving up.
This book is about a man haunted by what happened to him six years ago.
Absolutely wonderful. Great character building and kept you locked in wanting to find out what happens next.
Every Harlan Coben book I’ve read has been a great – this was not an exception
Another Harlan Coben great.
I finished this book in just two days! It had me hooked from the very beginning and kept up a good pace throughout. While some of the action was a bit unbelievable, it was very entertaining! (I just need to remember – this is the world of fiction!)
Love, Coben
This book kept me on my toes. Very original and entertaining.
Not Coben’s best. Just kind of strange with an unsatisfying ending.
