The news reporters called it a disaster. The doctors called it a miracle.I could still walk. I could still talk. I could still remember every little detail about the train crash.Until I couldn’t.Six weeks later, I lost my memory. I woke up believing that it was the morning of the accident.Six weeks after that, it happened again.I have retrograde amnesia. I’ve damaged a part of my brain which … a part of my brain which allows me to recall the recent past. In other words, I have an extremely limited short-term memory – six weeks to be exact.
The train derailed eighteen months ago.
I’ve relived that morning twelve times.
When I meet Spencer Hale, I put up a huge fight.
I won’t let him in. I can’t let him in. But with each day that passes, my walls begin to come down.
I get one step closer to loving him.
And one step closer to losing him.
Welcome to the train wreck that is my life.

90% story 4 stars, end- 3.75
I must say I have watched movies regarding someone with amnesia but reading a book on it? This is my first.
The quick back and forth witty banter was hilarious. There was much more dialogue than inner thoughts from the main character which was refreshing. The beginning, body up to about 90% was awesome. After that? it brought out a lot of unexpected emotions in me.
Cora has a best friend Roxy and sister Connie that without both of these women I’m sure she would have turned out to be a very different person due to her medical challenge. Her support system is absolutely amazing.
Spencer? Just perfect for her. The sacrifices he makes for his love for her is heartwarming.
What they go through breaks my heart though. I am unable to shake the feelings. The ending was definitely not what I expected and I can’t wrap my head around it.
It just makes you think and wonder….
I would have been happier if the end extended a tad bit more. It was powerful with the control it had over my emotions.
A good book, just very different, and still has a HEA. It captures your heart though and doesn’t let go. Would have been 4 stars or higher if wasn’t for the end.
Seems like I now have a new trope I like when reading books. Not only am I a fan of a second chance romance, but when you add in amnesia, it gives it an added twist.
Cora had been in a train wreck and suffered a brain injury that leaves her with short term memory lost every six weeks. For the last eighteen months, she wakes up every six weeks and starts her life from the day off the accident again. She has accepted that she wakes and time has lapsed since the accident and can deal with that. What she can’t deal with is a relationship with a guy she didn’t know before the injury. She couldn’t put anyone through that, not even the cute barista at her besties cafe. But what does Spencer want?
This story was done really well. The way Cora’s family and friends help her every six weeks navigate her catch up and keep moving forward is sweet and touching. As for Spencer, gosh he was adorable. You know that feeling of falling for someone, that new relationship feeling, imagine experiencing that every six weeks! He would do anything to be apart of Cora’s life, and it’s all worth it, every single bit.
What a storyline! Going into this book, I wasn’t sure what to expect, especially with reading a few books with a similar storyline, but I’m so glad I took a chance because it was nothing like the rest! The premise is Cora having amnesia that resets her memory every six weeks after an accident, and each time it happens, she tries to protect herself by writing down everything in an attempt to pick up where time left off before the reset. Except this time is different, and she meets Spencer, who peruses her after an instant connection. As they get to know each other and things progress, towards the end of her six weeks she comes to realize what she protected herself from, and makes an ultimate decision on her relationship with Spencer. The ending of this book was mind-blowing to me and really put me on the edge of my seat, and I was so eager to hope it went on further after the bombshell dropped in the end. I can’t wait to see what’s next!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Karli Perrin is a new to me author and I absolutely loved her writing style. This captivating and unique storyline flowed effortlessly and I was hooked from the first page to the last!
After a train accident, Cora’s life resets every six weeks…anything that’s happened and anyone she’s met since that fateful day is wiped from her memory. Cora meets Spencer at her best friend’s coffee shop and he’s determined to make her his, but how can Cora bring someone into her life when she knows that in six weeks she’s going to forget them?! Their story is just as heartbreaking as it is heartwarming. Their relationship is everything from teasing to flirty, from funny to sweet, from angsty to steamy, and so very sad that my heart hurt for them.
Without giving too much away, just know that this must read book may not end with a complete HEA, however it does end in a way that made me happy, but I sure would love more. Maybe Karli needs to write some bonus scenes just to make my heart completely happy! semicolon close bracket
I love checking out new to me authors, especially when they deliver such an intriguing blurb. When I first read the description for Six Weeks of Loving You I knew I needed to read it, and I’m so happy I did!
This book is so different than what I’ve read before, and while it definitely had some heavy undertones it was a really fun read. It gave me so many 50 First Dates vibes, and while the whole premise could have failed miserably Karli Perrin wrote it beautifully.
Spencer was amazing, and the epitome of a book boyfriend. You could just feel how much he cared about Cora, and I wanted to just jump through the pages and take her place while he was wooing her! Cora was a bit frustrating at times, but then I realized that I could never fully comprehend what she was going through so I kind of get it. And together they were just magic! I loved their flirtatious banter and the connection they shared was amazing.
And that ending was just pure perfection. I honestly don’t think she could have ended this story any better!
If you’re looking for a fun & easy read that is completely different I highly recommend this one!
Now that I can just about see through my swollen eyes, I’m going to attempt to write a review that this book deserves. I am certain that once I start thinking about this beautiful story I’m going to start crying again – so this may take some time. I write reviews for you to read, to let you know my feelings about the books I’ve just read, and I do my best to write them without spoilers. I hope that when you have decided this is the book for you, and it is the most incredible story that I urge you to read, that you are able to enjoy it without knowing the finer details before you start.
It is unimaginable what Cora must go through every single day, but she receives the most incredible support from her family and close friends. She is such a fabulous person and someone who you would want to have in your close circle of friends, so I can see that it is no hardship for them to help her.
I fell in love with Spencer almost instantly, how could I not, he is just perfect in every way. The chemistry between him and Cora is unquestionable right from the very beginning, and their connection blew me away.
I thought the author wrote the most amazing story that highlights love, devotion, heartache, sadness, happiness and strength. I adored the interactions among all the characters – you will laugh and smile often! I could empathise with both Cora and Spencer and this is obviously why I was affected by the story so much.
Six Weeks of Loving You is a must read. It is going to be up there with my top reads of all time, not just 2019. I applaud the author for her incredible writing and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t change one single thing that happens in the book. I do know that I, and everyone who reads this story is going to be thinking about Cora and Spencer for a very long time to come, and it’s a book that I will re-read often.
Wow! This is my first time reading Karli Perrin, and I am now wanting to read everything written by Ms. Perrin.
This was such a great story full of emotions and so heartfelt. I love when authors make you feel so a part of the story that you literally have to hug your kindle/book. This was definitely one of those times. Absolutely a must read!!
Just when I think I cannot love Ms. Perrin’s stories anymore, she comes out with this story and I flove her even harder!
Six Weeks of Loving You is a beautiful story of love and loss and finding love again.
I couldn’t put this story down until I finished it. This is a fast-paced story, but I am going to warn you to read it ever so slowly. Ms. Perrin is subtle with the hints and glimpses of what this story is really about and the bit of mystery that keeps you intrigued.
The love of Cora’s friends and family is ever-present. The lengths and things that they do to make Cora’s world easier comes with some heartbreak and hope for the future, even when the future seems futile.
This story is going to make you laugh out loud, it’s going to make you cry some ugly tears and it’s going to give your heart some warm fuzzy hugs, it’s going to show you what real love can look like.
To have to go through what Cora does in this story is just unquestionably heartbreaking and sad. To see how her family and friends support her is what love is.
This story is definitely going to be in the running for my “Best Reads of 2019”. Please do yourself a favor and get this book. It will move you.
This book made me ugly cry to the point my throat hurt. Karli is absolutely brilliant. Thank you for having me Beta for you!
What if everything you know is only temporary? What if you had a set time to get things finished?
Cora, was involved in a horrible trainwreck. She can only retain memories in cycles. Those cycles reset every 6 weeks.
She goes to her best friend Roxanne’s coffee house, Sanctum everyday because it’s her safe place. She gets her coffee fix and her best work is done there.
Spencer, a new barista starts working at Sanctum and there’s an instant attraction between Cora and Spencer. She’s afraid for anything serious because of her cycles.
Spencer is persistent. He wants to take Cora on a date.
Will one date be enough? Will Cora get her memory back?
Will Spencer stay along for the ride of his life?
