This book is the first book in The Dogfather series, it’s setting is in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Bitter Bark, NC and is the story of Garrett and Jessie. The characters and interconnecting characters in this book are awesome, it’s well written, the plot so life-like, contains a little family drama, emotional, dogs and a HEA. What a Great Start To A Great Series! Roxanne St. Claire never disappoints!
Loved story line, different and most enjoyable!
If you love dogs and romance this is a must read for you. It is well written the story flows and you want to keep reading to find out want happens next. I enjoyed this read.
As this is book one in the series I cannot wait to get the rest to read about this family of loving siblings. Well written and perfectly paced pulling you in from the start. This is about Garrett and Jessie and the struggles they face. A close family who each have their own talents but are there for each other.
Loved the book, the wonderful characters & the dogs (you will too if you’re also a dog lover). I’m reading the second book & will be reading the entire series.
I loved this book
A very good story with characters I could relate to. And I like stories with animals in them. I made a little note next to it that I will read more books by this author.
Such a sweet read. Certainly made me want to keep reading this series. If you love dogs, even if you don’t love “love stories”, this book is for you.
It was a touching story wrapped around the love of dogs.
The characters were interesting yet down-to-earth enough to seem believable. The family back-story was detailed enough but didn’t give away the story clinchers.
An enjoyable human story.
I found it hard to get into.
Rescue Dogs & a Whole Lot of Love & Laughter
This was the first book in the Dogfather series and I absolutely loved it. The Kilcannon family were a hoot. This book was about Garrett Kilcannon and Jessie Curtis. Both were independent characters, and both had this fierce love for a rescue dog named Lola. Garrett had a complicated past and it was Jessie’s job to write about Garrett’s life, good or bad, for the TV station she worked for. Their love for Lola brought out their love for each other. This book can be read as a stand-alone, it is a HEA or the series. I plan to read the whole series
Give me dogs that feature in a story and I am there! This was a good read, good characters and good insight into rescues. Doggone good!
Very interesting!!
Loved all the insights into the dogs.
Loved it from beginning to end.
Loved the dogs in this book, they were as unique as the human characters. I also liked the way it was written with some ethical issues thrown in for interest. It was quick to read and really satisfying with a happy ending.
Loved the whole series
A fun summer beach read – fast and easy and entertaining
I enjoyed these real characters who lived by their codes and found love in the process.
Any book involving a dog gets my vote but this one gets them all. It’s not just about a dog or dogs it’s about a family who genuinely love and care for one another and extend that love for animals into their lives. This however is not the whole story, it involves real life situations in the corporate world and today’s quest for a Hot story. The dog eat dog (no pun intended) world of people doing anything and everything to succeed and raise to the top. You won’t be disappointed in this great story with a setting in a NC town.
