The former first daughters share intimate stories and reflections from the Texas countryside to the storied halls of the White House and beyond. Born into a political dynasty, Jenna and Barbara Bush grew up in the public eye. As small children, they watched their grandfather become president; just twelve years later they stood by their father’s side when he took the same oath. They spent their … They spent their college years watched over by Secret Service agents and became fodder for the tabloids, with teenage mistakes making national headlines.
But the tabloids didn’t tell the whole story. In Sisters First, Jenna and Barbara take readers on a revealing, thoughtful, and deeply personal tour behind the scenes of their lives, as they share stories about their family, their unexpected adventures, their loves and losses, and the sisterly bond that means everything to them.

Great storytelling by both sisters. A delight!
If only all children of our Presidents turned out as well as the Bush twins. They were true to themselves but respectful of their father’s office. And mom, Laura, seems like a ton of fun! An added plus was the insight into their famous father and grandfather – not necessarily whom they seem in public. Very easy to read and entertaining. I read it in an afternoon. This book would make a wonderful gift for a girlfriend or sister or even sister-in-law!
Interesting and enjoyable view of a private family in a very public life.
Love to hear from the Bush girls.
Wonderful to read about the relationship these two first daughters have.
Well written and appreciated their self deprecating today humor, their honesty and the love they have for each other.
I enjoyed the book very much. It’s not political but about what these two amazing girls have accomplished and still are accomplishing. They aren’t girls anymore. They are young ladies to admire.
Informative and entertaining
Learned things I didn’t know that were quite interesting. Have a new respect for these young women and what they have accomplished & still are. Recommend!
Very interesting.
The sisters expressed their love for each other and their family. In their own coices.
It was not great literature, but an intetesting read for the content. Families thrown into the Whire House spotlight are never quite like what the press would have you believe. Mostly, they are just families doing their best to raise their children in extraordinary circumstances. This is where the interesting “child’s ” perspective reveals much sbout their parents and grandparents as real people, not cardboard caricatures.
Love seeing sisters helping each other and the world at large. Intro by mom shared insight not known before.
Lovely account of sister love
I liked it.
Fun book about the Bush twins. Interesting to learn about their pretty normal and sometimes extraordinary lives.
Well-written; an interesting read.
It was fun to learn about the lives of the Bush twins. Wonderful family! Especially love the stories of their Grandpa, George Sr.
Great read.
I enjoyed reading about these two ladies.
